Hello my loves, I am back with another hair tutorial perfect for the summer and spring
months.
So if you're interested in seeing how I went from a cloud goddess to a hot gyaless, then
just keep on watching.
So I started off this style with freshly washed hair that I blow dried the night before and
then put in two little pigtails to make sure that my hair stayed stretched.
I went ahead and actually blow dried my hair because I noticed that whenever my hair is
stretched to maximum capacity that the style tends to last a lot longer.
And since I'm using hair that's a little bit thinner than what I'm typically going for
and doesn't really have as much of a longevity to it, I wanted to make sure my style lasts.
So to complete this style you're going to need some shine jam or whatever you use to
grip the hair.
Then you're going to need oil, a rat tail comb for parting, as well as some clips to
keep everything in place, and of course, hair.
So the hair that I'm using is this cool little coily three-toned ombre hair.
I got six packs, good I got a big head.
And this is what the hair looks like out of the package.
As you can see clearly it got its name Spring Twist because of how springy the hair is.
Now the ombre does look quite a bit harsh when you see it in this coily state.
But I promise when we stretch it out and work everything out it looks a lot better.
So when it comes to prepping the hair, I just went ahead and sectioned my hair off in half.
I'm not really using a comb or anything like that because I really kind of want to go for
free form curly locks looking hair.
And so I'm just separating my hair in half.
And this is great for my beginners out there if you're wanting to try a simpler style other
than like braids or something else.
This is really, really great for you.
Don't really have to worry about the parting as much until you get to the front.
So as you can see my hair is parted in half and the line does not look anywhere near close
to Picasso but it's all good I promise.
So you can go ahead and use a comb to make a section but I just went ahead and used my
finger.
I feel like a lot of people do these tutorials but don't show what they do in the back.
Trust me we're just not really putting much effort in the back but I wanted to show you
guys exactly how I'm parting the hair.
So once I have the hair parted I went ahead and installed at least two of the twists so
I can get a feel of the hair and make sure that it didn't look crazy.
I just want to make sure I still had the ombre and I am loving the length.
So I have all my little pieces sectioned on my little wooden plank thing and you can get
that from Amazon or in stores at a craft store.
I'll link it down below.
So I'm going in with the shine and jam at the root of my hair.
Love this stuff whenever I'm braiding my hair or clients hair.
I just feel like it really gets the flyaways and all of the hair in a nice grip for you
to go ahead and install.
Once I have it in there I'm actually twisting the root like rolling it to make sure that
it's nice and tight especially because the back you know that kitchen you got the little
tiny hairs in there.
I'm trying to get everybody you know we're not trying to leave anybody out.
Once I have it rolled at the root I separate the hair into two pieces and you'll see later
why.
So I'm taking three pieces of crochet hair per twist at least in the back and I'm going
to put away one and work with two.
So these two I'm going to use as my extenders.
So as I said my hair is quite long and I want to keep the ombre like true to the actual
hair.
So I want to extend the black portion of the ombre so that my hair actually blends a lot
better and you don't see it go from just black to blonde.
So right now I'm just going ahead and fluffing out the hair making sure that it's nice and
full.
Then I am pairing the ends of the hair so as you can see I'm going to wear literally
the end of the black is on both sides and pairing them up to the same length.
Once I do that I'm just going to go ahead and cut off the ends that have the light brown
and the blonde to it.
And that way I get double the black that was in the original hair piece.
And so that means that I actually not only elongate the ombre itself but I also make
the hair a lot longer so that my hair isn't actually the same length as the crochet hair.
And then for the next piece as you can see like that black portion is way longer than
the original piece so I just go ahead and fluff out the original piece and just add
it to the other two pieces of hair making sure to roll it at the root so that nothing
goes loose because we're dealing with two sections that are cut.
And then I'm just going to go ahead and install it to the base of my hair.
So with the crochet hair I made a little loop and I have my index finger and my thumb in
the middle of that loop so I can go ahead and actually grip my hair and pull it through
the loop.
I'm going to braid down literally two times and then go ahead and take that little sectioned
hair that I made at the end of this section to separate it into two pieces or just go
ahead and separate it into two pieces but I'm literally only braiding twice at the root
because if I just continue braiding in that particular motion where I use my hair as the
third piece the hair will slide down.
It's not youth growth honey the hair is sliding.
So I want to make sure that the hair does not slide so that the hair lasts as long as
possible.
So once I have it nicely installed I just make sure I go ahead and kind of rope twist
the hair especially where my hair is involved to make sure that the twist stays nice and
neat.
And I also go ahead and make sure I fluff out the ends a little bit so that the twists
look a lot fuller and then convert over to two strand twists once I reach the end of
my hair so that way the hair can kind of fluff up and shrink up a little bit giving me kind
of that free form look.
So once I have the twist done this is what it looks like.
This is what the back three look like.
I'm going to magically skip to the front of my hair so I can show you guys a couple of
different tricks that I use to install.
So after a couple more hours this is what my hair is looking like.
As you can see the ombre is in full effect which is really really good because the middle
of my hair is the longest and the front of my hair is a lot longer than the back.
So as you can see I went ahead and started using the comb to make my sections and they're
kind of like seashell looking sections.
This is great because it allows you to have like a fuller look without using a lot of
hair especially since the crochet hair ended up being a lot thinner once you twist it up.
Personally I probably would have gone and used like maybe three additional more packs
for more thickness but I worked with whatever I had and since my hair in the front is actually
thinner than my hair in the middle, I'm taking the two pieces that I cut for elongation,
I'm taking the additional piece that I used just the plain piece for thickness and then
I'm going to go ahead and take an additional piece.
So I'm using four pieces of the crochet hair in the front to compensate for the fact that
the very front, my edge, my edges of my hair is a lot thinner than the middle part of my
hair.
So going in with one other way that you can install the hair into your head, I'm going
in with my little edge jam to make sure that everything is nice and smooth.
Then I'm going to separate the section into two so I'm going to be starting off the root
of this twist with two strands already made and I wanted to do it that way in the front
especially because I really didn't want the braided part to be shown, really wanted to
make it look like it came out of the root of my hair.
Then I place the hair in the middle of those two sections and then roll the hair around
my hair until it gets really really tight at the root and then do the same thing to
the other side until it gets really really tight at the root and then just go ahead and
proceed to twisting them together.
And what I do is I first go ahead and kind of like rope twist it about a fourth of the
way down adding a little bit of gel or anything to make sure that my hair stays nice and taut.
Then I'll go ahead and add a little clip and let my hair kind of like unravel to make sure
that it's nice and tight because what will happen is you start off with twisting from
the root sometimes you're actually just rolling the hair around and it's not as tight as you
think by the time you get to the end.
To avoid all of that surprise at the end I just go ahead and check midway and then to
twist the hair I'm twisting and rolling at the same time and as you can see I get a nice
fluffy twist.
So onto the second other way that you can go ahead and install I'm twisting the hair
at the root kind of similar to the back portion so but I'm twisting at the root to make sure
that it's actually nice and secure.
Then I'm going in with pieces of hair and again I'm making a little loop using my index
finger and my thumb as a way to pull the hair through.
Now you can kind of install it from the bottom like just braid it in but I kind of like the
way that having my hair above my head gives me a grip so again I'm only going to braid
it literally two times before I go ahead and separate my hair into two pieces and I'm
pulling it really really nice and taut to make sure that the hair does not slide down
because it is crochet hair and it's a lot slipperier than marley hair or braiding hair
and then I'm just going to go ahead and do the two strand twist all the way down making
sure to check at the root that my hair is nice and taut and make sure that everything
is in place and then just go ahead and rope twisting the section down.
So once I have that way in I'm going to show you a third way that you can also install
this is for my beginner beginner beginner beginners those of you who just struggle with
grip you can do this in two ways but it all requires a rubber band so you just want to
go ahead and use the rubber band method by taking a rubber band and applying it to the
base of your hair and now at this point you can go ahead and use the index finger and
make a loop and then put the hair through and that way the rubber band will keep your
roots safe but I find that sometimes if you do that method with thinner hair it doesn't
really cover up the rubber band so I'm going to go ahead and crochet the crochet hair through
the base of the twist and this is just going to help hide the fact that it's a rubber band
and also make sure that the hair stays even double more secure and doesn't slide down
the braid as the wearing of the hair goes on so you just pull the hair through and then
make sure everything is nice and tight and then split your hair in half and go ahead
and twist the section down just as you would the other different methods that we've been
twisting it down and I just like to make sure that I roll the hair as I am twisting especially
when it comes to my hair and then just twist everything down adding a little bit of shine
jam wherever is necessary so I just continue going ahead and applying these different methods
of installing it into my hair wherever I've seen fit making sure that I go ahead and make
sections in my hair that are relative to the other sections basically I kind of want to
do a brick method but with the circle cutouts and once I have my parts made I add the little
shine jam to the root of my hair and then I'll go ahead and split the section in half
or install it however I seen fit and then just twist the sections down until I reach
the front of my hair and have the final look and there you have it your girl is in her
final form bad gal ZZ has officially arrived I absolutely love the color of his hair from
the black to the brown to the blonde very spring very summer all I did to finish up
this style was add a little bit of foam to the roots of my hair and the whole entire
hair in general just to set everything in place you do not have to dip it make sure
that you go ahead and subscribe to my channel because I will be uploading a hair care video
explaining the difference between the spring and passion twist and so much more later on
but I hope that this video was helpful and as always if you love me if you're loving
the sleigh if you're feeling this three-toned ombre do not forget to subscribe to my channel
