Join me in my garden today installing a water feature fountain in my very small neglected flowerbed.
This fountain is called the “Jersey Spilling Bowls” and it’s from Aqua Creations.

Janette, The Enthusiastic Gardener
I've had a wonderful day. I have transformed this waste little area from this to this
and stay tuned to find out how I did it. Hi there everyone, it's Jeanette here from Enthusiastic
Gardener. I have had a great idea for this little area here, tiny little section. I could do
something great with it and I had a wonderful idea to install a beautiful fountain. I think
I'm going to go back to view and get one of their fountains. Richard does not know about this
great idea and I don't suppose he'll be enthralled or enamoured either so I'm just going to go out,
hopefully get a fountain, bring it back and he'll be delighted. Richard
is helping me in with my wonderful present and he does not know what it is.
It's always a good idea to feel Richard's reactions.
Oh my god, it's a bargain. It's a bargain, it was half price.
It's not a fountain is it? Yes, yes, a little baby fountain. Another fountain. It was £70
reduced from £140. Richard you're not smiling.
Will you wait to see where it's going? I've been thinking of this for a couple of weeks.
Ever since we went to view. Have you thought about where it's going? Yes, yes, yes.
£70 Rich. Do you like it? Let me show you where it's going to go. I've measured and everything
is going here. Yes. What do you think? I think it's going to look beautiful
and it can plug in round into the greenhouse. Can it? Yes. Why do you think it can't?
Yes, I've checked everything. Every box has been ticked and these are the plants I have.
I've got a beautiful Acer Japanese Jewels Little Princess because I checked as well
that they can do sun or shade. They like light. This never gets sun but it gets light
so I think you'll be very happy there. And then I got a couple of little Cyclamen
because they do well in shade. This was all clearance. I got a Lamium. They can do shade.
Let me check. Well drained in full sun or partial shade. It's a very light area. And then I got one
of these which is Spreading Leptinella Black and that one as well can do sun or part shade.
Have you been in the bins? You've been in the garage on your own. Have you been in the bins?
So what do you think? What do I think? Yes, I think it's a lovely idea, isn't it?
I knew I should have gone with you. No, I did ask you. Do you want to come with me? Yeah. I think
it's going to look beautiful. Underneath this little section of planting area it's not very
deep and there's a tree trunk. It's kind of like that. We've got half of a tree trunk which is fine
because that can just sit on top. But I need to see how far I can dig down because I wanted to
put these plants in. And we've got some Hawthorn. Have you noticed these, Rich? Yeah. I like this.
Look, mushrooms. And I only noticed them when I came out. I thought it was a stone. No, it's a
mushroom. It looks gross. That's probably growing out of the tree stump. Oh yeah, of course. Anyway,
let's excavate. I'll keep these slates because I might dress it all with that. I'm just hoping
that I've got enough depth to take the Acer because I want to make sure it's planted nicely.
So let's get on and do it. So that didn't go quite as badly as I'd imagined. He's okay with it,
I think. We'll let them sit in some water for half an hour while I do all my digging out.
These mushrooms are as hard as rocks. Really, really solid. Thank you.
White trousers on whenever I asked you to do something.
Yeah, so I hadn't realized how big this tree stump is. It goes in a semicircle all the way
round to maybe there. So I can't plant. I think it's there. Yes, that's tree stump.
And it's all concrete. I'd forgotten that. Underneath here only goes down to about there
and then you hit solid concrete or something. So let's stage the fountain and then work around
the fountain. What I could do, I think would look really nice, is put the Acer. It's a beautiful
Acer and I really think it would look pretty. And I could get a pot, put it in a pot. I don't
have a nice decorative pot, but that would be something nice, I think. And then I can still
have it. So that is my plan B. And I'm going to ask Richard if he could please come and set my,
I could probably set the fountain up myself, but I think he likes to, he likes to do it.
It's a manly job for a man. He's a long time. I can't imagine for one minute he's reading the
instructions. Is the lead long enough? Well, they told me it was long enough. Now I'm looking at it,
it doesn't look very long. Do you think it's long enough? They assured me, I was assured.
You should have one water feature, one transformer and one feature pump.
We've got a warranty for 12 months as well.
All right, Lottie. Lucy. Hello, baby. Lucy had all her teeth out two weeks ago. She's got two
teeth left. Haven't you, Lucy? And she's got a little smile now. She's happy. She's got two,
there's one, and she's got one on the back, but she's doing really, really well. And she's eating
just normally. She's still on medication, but she's doing very well. So now Richard
is attaching the tubing to the pump. The cables are attached to the LEDs.
And then he's got to attach the pump cable to the transformer.
Is that where we're having it? Yeah. Okay. Of course, we're not going to be able to
open the window, but we don't worry about little, little things like that.
Perfect. I'm ready for the turning on. Lights have come on. Oh, look at that. Oh, Richard,
is that not the loveliest thing? Right, let's do more planting and then we'll do the grand reveal.
Here it is. It's all done. It's beautiful and I love it. The plants, I took this
from already in my garden elsewhere. Then this Aeonium, I don't think it's going to be very happy
here, but we stuck it in there anyway. Uh, Ahucara from my garden elsewhere. Then this little one
down here is the, let's put my glasses on, that one was the Leptinella Plaque, that's a little
ground cover. Then we have two Cyclamen over there, and then that one at the end is Ananium,
a Maculatum Beaconsilver. Then of course we've got the beautiful Acer, and I'll decide
what sort of pot that goes in. It could well stay there, who knows. That is Acer, Japanese Jewels,
little princess. I'm so pleased this whole thing just cost me £100 because the bounty was reduced
50% and it's a good idea to look at things now, end of the season, things might be a lot cheaper
and I'm so lucky because I thought it was £140 and I was prepared to pay £140 and be pleased
and then at the till she said it's half price. So thank you for joining me. I'm Jeanette,
I'm the Enthusiastic Gardener. Thank you to Richard for putting my bounty in and making
sure it was level. I hope you're having fun in your gardens. Take care everyone
and I will see you soon. Thanks for watching. Bye!
