Hi guys and welcome back to my channel, great to have you here for this one. Today I'm going to be
doing a ball review. Now I was looking in the trees the other day, not for my ball obviously,
and I stumbled across one of these, a vice golf ball. Now I've heard a little bit about these
but I was interested to see what all the fuss was all about. With that said I thought I'd give this
try out on the golf course and see what it's like for feel, distance, spin etc. Then I'll be able to
draw conclusions as to whether it is a decent golf ball for the club golfer to use. So let's get stuck
into it, this is Nick Does Golf. So today we're going to be looking at the vice golf ball. This
is the vice pro plus ball, not going to lie I thought that was a medicine. Now on first look
and feel it feels very similar to a good standard ball such as a Titleist Pro V1, a Callaway Super
Soft or a Chrome Soft, it does feel very similar which is very good. So on first glance really good
okay. Now from now I've been online I've had a look at the price of them and for a box of 12 balls
they're around £30 which is good okay, it's about average it's not too bad. Your Pro V1, your Callaway,
Shrixen stuff like that they are probably £10-£15 more than that okay. So this is probably
between your budget golf ball something like a Shrixen Distance okay and your top of the range
such as a Pro V1X. So it's not looking too bad at the moment for feel, looks and price but the
ultimate test is taking it out on the golf course and seeing how it gets on. So let's go out there
and have a look. So I've just hit the first drive of the day, first initial thoughts, solid, absolutely
solid. It felt great off the actual face of the driver, the ball flight was really nice exactly
what I wanted, trajectory not too high and it doesn't spin out so I'm pretty pleased with that
to be honest. It didn't feel very soft and it wasn't too hard. For myself personally I prefer a
little bit of a harder golf ball but it felt about just right which is great, something that I'm used
to with the Callaway Chrome Soft which is quite a nice golf ball. So I'm going to go and play some
holes and see how it reacts and then from there I'm going to show you how it feels on the iron play.
Let's go!
Well hey, so I've managed to play a few holes now, getting used to the feel of the golf ball, how it
looks as I'm standing over it, it feels fantastic so no complaints there. From that last shot I don't
know whether you could see it but I actually slightly thinned it so it wasn't as solidly as
I would have liked but the ball had a really nice trajectory on it, it didn't veer off in any way,
it just felt really good and that is the sort of things that you want from a golf ball to help you
out in situations like that. If you thin it, you heal it, tow it, whatever it may be, you need a
golf ball that's going to be forgiving along with your irons obviously being forgiving too, you want
all these to help in your favour so when you're out on the golf course the best case scenario happens
all the time. But from the ones that I have hit and I've hit really nicely, the ball's trajectory has
just flown. It has been great, you can work it both ways, fade or draw, whatever your shot
shape is, it just works and it's really nice off the face. So, very good review so far, let's see
what it's like with the chipping and the short game. So, I've done a little bit of chipping around the
screen here, flop shot, chip and run, just a standard chip shot just to give you a visual on how it reacts
when it hits the green. So, my initial thoughts are that yeah, it's really nice off the face,
okay, however, the ball does release out a little bit more. Now, it might be because there's a bit
more bounce in the greens because it has been like pretty nice weather to be honest. So, it's been
quite dry but in my opinion, I think the ball does run out slightly more than say a chrome soft which
I'm used to playing with. So, this isn't necessarily a bad thing but you've got to take into account
when you're hitting into the green for example or you're chipping around the green, just to take
into account that the ball's going to not spin as much and release a little bit more out towards
the target or the intended target. But in terms of strike, it feels really solid, a nice good golf ball
to be using to get you out of any sort of trouble that you may be in or to help you even chip the
ball in. In terms of bunker play, the ball feels pretty much the same as it does as a flop shot
here. It feels really good, it comes out and it basically stops on a 50 pence piece which is great.
It doesn't actually spin back, it doesn't check out. Obviously, it does depend on your technique
but for me, it came out nice and high and landed softly which is great and that worked out perfectly
for my game. Lastly, we're going to check out how it feels when we're using the putter on those greens.
Let's go. So, as you can see, I've done a few puts from long distance, mid-range and short distance.
Overall, the ball feels really nice onto the face of the putter. Obviously, we all want to get that
ball rolling end over end as best we can. Now, with this ball, it's got a nice solid black line on that
ball, so you can see that happening. When the putter actually hits the ball, the ball feels
really nice off the face, especially if you've got an insert. This is what we're all striving for, so
if you can find a ball that's going to help you hole more puts, get your range, especially from
long distance, then perfect. You need to go for that ball, whether it is a shriks and distance
or right at the top end, a pro v1x. Whatever ball it may be, you need to make sure that it works for
you. I recommend that you definitely try a vice golf ball, because these balls are something else.
Now, that felt nice.
So, I'm just walking off the ninth now, and the vice ball is still intact. Yeah! I'm just
standing under this tree, because it is baking. Look at the sweat there. But I've managed to play
some decent golf for that nine holes, whilst reviewing the vice golf ball. Okay, so I've
managed to shoot level par, which is great, and I'm really happy with that. A few birdies, a couple
of bogeys, leveled itself out, which was not too bad. In conclusion, I would definitely give this
ball a thumbs up. Okay, so if you're struggling to work out what golf ball to use and what's best
for you, definitely give the vice ball a try. Now, I've only used one type of the vice golf ball,
so it might be worth trying a couple, just to see how they are. Also, it might be worth you getting
a golf ball fitting, so whether it's with Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, or Vice. Okay, this is
definitely worth doing, just to see what suits your game best, what's going to help you give the most
consistency throughout the golf course that you're playing. It's a really important thing to do, and
lots of people do overlook this, so definitely do this. In terms of feel, control, and distance, it
feels great off the club face. The amount of control you get around the greens is good. It releases a
little bit more, okay, which isn't a problem, you've just got to allow for that. And the distance, it
doesn't lag too far behind the Titleist's, Callaway's, different balls like that. So, I definitely think
it's worth you trying out these golf balls, just to see what they're like. Even if you are set on
playing a different type of ball, just give it a try and see what it's like. I'm sure you'll be
pleasantly surprised. Guys, if you've liked this content, please make sure you subscribe to my
