Thank goodness we have just arrived to Tasco Guerrero.
Hello everybody. I'm not sure where we are. Okay so let's go ahead and explain what this is. So
yesterday I was on the computer I just started searching and searching and searching and I was
like you know what let's plan this really spontaneous trip and then I was like well
you know what I'm already doing all of this planning in my head I might as well make this
a little more interesting and not tell Montana what I'm doing. So I was just like hey tomorrow
we're going on an adventure don't ask me where because I'm planning it all and it's going to
be a surprise to you. So what I did was I packed our bags for both of us so the clothes she's
wearing for this trip I picked out for her so I'm excited about this. It's beautiful so far.
We just walked up a super steep hill. Jesus I don't think the camera will do justice to that hill
but that's the first thing we've done so far. We're already tired being here but the weather's
so much better isn't it Blen? It is. It feels so much cooler. I think we're going to meet the Airbnb
host right now. Yeah maybe we can make it up the rest of this hill. And there's white taxis everywhere
and all the buildings are white. Look at all the taxis. They're all white beetles. Isn't it beautiful?
The drive here was so beautiful. It was like tons of mountains and green which we're not
used to in Queretaro. Yeah it was beautiful and also the sight that I'm facing right now. Yeah
like what the heck is this? Really pretty. Jesus. I knew Taxco was going to be beautiful but like
being here it's like this place is surreal. It's different from the rest of the places we've been
right Blen? Yeah. It's white and the climate feels different. Apparently the traffic here is worse
than Mexico City huh? That's what the driver told us. He said the traffic here is worse than Mexico City.
It's a bit, I don't know. Obviously Mexico City has more traffic but this is chaos. Can you imagine
your brakes giving out on that? Oh my god. Okay let's continue. Okay we just arrived at our Airbnb
for the night. It's just a room in this house. There's the bed, cute little window, vanity,
water, a baby, a tv, a tv, and a very very blue bathroom. Even the toilet is blue.
And look at this window. What's up there? Nothing. I am very grateful for this van right now. I think
I've picked up on a little bit of what the plan is tomorrow. Why? Because I know Spanish words.
What did I say? You said las posas. You don't know what that means. Yes I do.
I suck. You don't suck. I just learned Spanish. We want to make this video where I talk to Montana
for an entire day only in Spanish because I've noticed that like even though she doesn't speak
Spanish to anybody, not even to me, I've noticed that she's like starting to understand a whole
lot more than I even know. So I want to talk to her all day long to kind of get the sense of what
she does and doesn't know. So look out for that video. We'll definitely do that in the future
because I think that's going to be a fun video. So we're going to rest and then go get some food.
And another day of a trip planned by me for you. Excited to go swimming.
We're not going swimming. Oh my god. You think we're going swimming? Crazy. Look at that.
That is crazy. These roads are insane. I don't know how on earth they're doing this
but an enormous sprinter is backing out of that tiny hill road. Here is the main plaza
of Taxco. It's the center of the town. A lot of traffic seems to be the case everywhere,
at least in the downtown area. But yeah, it's beautiful. A lot of people. A lot of people
enjoying this beautiful weather, a beautiful town. I don't blame them. We just walked out
of the cafe because my bun had to do some work. Honestly, I feel kind of ashamed to say this but
I feel so much better now after having that coffee. She keeps pretending that she's not
addicted to coffee which she so clearly is. I'm not. I just like, it's one of those things that
makes me just like genuinely happier. Yeah, drugs. It's not addiction. Another thing I wanted to say
is that I absolutely hate being a highly sensitive person
because I feel really bad for being in such beautiful places. I mean, I feel really lucky
but if I'm not enjoying it as much as I feel like I should be, it makes me feel really bad about
myself. I was not in the best mood but now I'm better now, now that I've had coffee.
So I'm ready to go explore. Oh my god.
If you really want to learn how to drive, come here because
if you don't know how to drive, you're not gonna make it. I feel like these roads are so slick.
I've seen some like pretty impressive maneuvering in the little time that we've been here so far.
Yeah. People like really know how to back it in and because otherwise you're wrecking. You're
ready to go explore now so let's go. Yeah, the weather's even better now too so I think
I'm glad we did that. Yeah, it does feel much better. Where are we going? Into the church. To
the church? Right there. There's a tour going on here but we're doing it the old-fashioned way.
We are right here across the plaza. There's Tana for reference. That's the ground level
and that is the enormous super detailed cathedral. It's so cute. It is really really cute.
So this is the Santa Prisca church. It was built in the 1750s and at the time it was the tallest
building in Mexico at 310 feet. It's one of the greatest examples of Baroque architecture in
Mexico. When we walked in there was a wedding going on but we were able to stand at the back
and get a glimpse of how beautiful it was inside. We've just passed by one, two, three
silver shops. Four. Another one. Five. There are easily hundreds of these silver shops. It's insane.
Why is that? Well because this town is here because it was an old silver mine and I guess
still has silver. It's considered to be what I think is the cheapest place to buy silver at least
in Mexico and I've seen places in the U.S. called Taxco. If you see Taxco like in the U.S. that
means that they sell silver there or anywhere else. Taxco just this monument with silver.
There's another one. Look at that. That's an Aztec calendar. This is? It's so pretty.
We just found this really cute picture spot. If we've posted the picture already I'll insert it
here. If not you can follow us on Instagram so you can see it when we take it. I mean when we
post it. The alleyway is called Juan Sebastian so like the video if you know who that is and
comment below because he is a local singer from here. He's probably the most famous person from
here. It's so pretty. It's like a fairy tale. It kind of feels like Italy a little bit we keep
saying even though we've never been there. We can only imagine. People want to see you bun.
It feels so much better out here now. It feels good like actually good doesn't it? Yeah I can't
believe how like hilly it is here. I just can't imagine like all the old ladies walking up and
down. I'm sure they're in great shape. It feels so relaxed now that we're like kind of settled
in a little bit. And we're not in the main plaza right? As soon as we left the main plaza they got
so much more relaxed. Yeah I think it just takes me a while to get settled in. I just can't get
over how cute everything is. I think most of this video is just going to be us showing the things
that amaze us. And it's just like so cute. Like it's not like something super spectacular. It's
just really really really cute. So Tesco so far. Impressions? Very cute. A little bit crowded.
Surely it's better in the middle of the week right? We came on the weekend. It's also pretty
hot but in the shade it feels good. It feels so good. So if somebody was to pick between Cuernavaca
and Tesco which one would you pick? This is an actual destination worth going to? I think so too.
Here's a combi. This is the public transportation here. It's like little buses. They used to be
Volkswagen buses. And then there's your taxi option. I wonder what's in there. It's a hotel.
Well it's really cute. Look how cute it is. So this is a restaurant inside of this hotel
and they have a whole tree growing out the top.
Cute couch. I love the little tables. Why didn't we stay here? I'm just kidding.
Okay let's go back out into the hot sun. Sergio just told me where we're eating
in a little bit. It's this place right here. It's sushi. Sushi. I'm excited. I've never had sushi
actually at a restaurant. We've only had it once. I made it at home and it was pretty good so I'm
sure I'll like this more. Guys Montana is an amazing cook. I feel very lucky to be able to
have her make my food. It's like a blessing and a curse to be able to cook because I've become such
a food critic. It's kind of really annoying because most of the time when we go out to eat
somewhere I end up not liking it. Is it annoying? It's not annoying. I like it a lot. We haven't had
any food yet this trip that has been better than anything that we would make at home anyway.
Apparently Sergio has a place picked out that he's taking us to right now.
I'm guessing it's Boba because he knows that's my favorite but I really wouldn't imagine there
being a Boba place here so I don't know where we're going. Apparently peaches are in season
right now. So these peaches were grown here. I haven't had a good peach in so long and these
are actually ripe right now. They feel really soft and they smell. He picked them out for us to
eat right now like I told him that we were gonna have them right now. They smell so good. 50 cents
for all of these. Not bad, not bad. Locally grown. They're small enough to believe that they're
organic right? Yeah. Oh more fruit. I like this alley. Still don't know where we're going but
we're in the market now. The fresh fruit smells so good. These mangoes are two for 15 pesos and
in the U.S. mangoes are like two for five dollars. This is less than one dollar for two. Two kilos.
Two kilos? Oh my god. They must be in season right now because I've seen so many of them.
That's absolutely crazy. Fix the bangs. The place that Sergio was taking me to
was a boba place but they didn't have any nut milk even though they had it on their menu.
We went back to the Airbnb and changed clothes. Now we're going to a hotel to take some pictures.
This is it? Yeah. Wow this is really pretty. Wow. A trick to get into places like this is walk in
like you know the place. It really helps if you're foreign honestly. Having Montana beside me really
helps because people are like oh she looks like she probably belongs here. Okay is that the church?
A different church or the church? Oh that's where we were earlier. How many freaking enormous beautiful
churches like that do you think there are in this town? I don't know. I think this right here you can
really see how hilly this is. The town is literally built on the mountainside. It just
goes up and we definitely feel it. Our legs feel it when we're walking. I don't know if you
can recognize it from earlier there's absolutely no cars out here now. It's really cool. It's much more
touristy and quiet and cooler. We were on the hunt for an outlet that has three prongs because
I was planning on finishing editing a video tonight but my laptop is dead. The
Airbnb we're staying in it only has two prongs. The place we're staying is obviously a very old house.
So we just went back in here to see if they have the three prong plug-ins and they do. So we might
be back but it's so much more enjoyable out here now. It's really really beautiful. I think we're
just gonna walk around and then go get some sushi. As we head to our restaurant for the day
or for the night I wanted to say that it makes me really happy that you're really enjoying this for
two reasons. One because I planned this all and it would be really disappointing if I planned this
all and it was a surprise that you would just like sucks. And the second reason more importantly
is that Taxco is in a state called Guerrero where my family is from and so I would come here for
summers when I was a child. So it's like a place that's in my heart but recently a good bit of the
state has been involved in a lot of violence and it's just not been the best place to travel to so
it makes me happy that there's places like Taxco that a lot of people can really still get to go
and I get to show up to my bun. It's really lovely honestly. To me it's really special to be here
because I get to see a side of Guerrero that I didn't get to see as a child because we would
always go to my parents hometown and not to be really mean about it but I mean it's there's not
much to it touristically I guess and this place is much much more beautiful so I love it. I'm
really happy to be here with you. I can't believe this view we have right now. I know. It's amazing.
We're sitting at this cute little table and I'm excited because I've never had
sushi out at a restaurant before. We got Montana some miso soup and of course
being Mexico they gave her a nice little lime. This doesn't happen everywhere right?
Oh I don't know if this happens everywhere but in Mexico they will give you
jalapenos to put into your soy sauce. I'm letting my edamame soak.
Yeah this edamame is very good. It's grilled and it's very well presented and it's yummy.
Well we haven't gotten our sushi yet but I wanted to say that Mexico has a surprisingly
big sushi culture. There's sushi everywhere. I mean we're in a small town now and there's this
really really nice sushi place. We've also noticed that in Mexico City too. There's sushi
everywhere and no matter what mall you're in every single mall has sushi. I think the sushi
I'm ready to try this miso. I love miso soup and I'll go in with the lime because why not.
Okay sushi is here. That miso soup is actually the best miso soup ever. You've had the best
Japanese food experience in Taxco Guerrero. I was not expecting that at all so since everything else
That was a very enjoyable food experience. I cannot believe how good that was. We were just
walking around and we ran into somebody who I think we have been texting who actually happens
to be from here and that was Frida. Say hi Frida. I found you by Instagram. By Instagram? Oh okay.
Frida came when she has a couple of friends here with Javier and Frida. It was really cool to meet
some people who you know have seen our pictures and follow us on Instagram. This is actually our
first time meeting. Yeah kind of yeah here in Mexico. It was really cool so anyway we just
wanted to show you guys that. Earlier today this road was full of cars and now it's like so lit
and popping with people and one guy on a scooter. One thing I noticed about Taxco and let me know
if you've noticed this too is how detailed the cobblestone roads are. They have like little
details and they're different on every road. At first since there were cars going over it I thought
maybe it was like road signs because I couldn't really see it but it's just decoration. It's road
literature. Cool. Let me catch you guys up where we left off. We just ended up chilling a little bit
downtown. We decided that we were not going to be full enough to go through the night so we went
back to the sushi place, ordered some sushi to go and then the rain started pouring and the sushi
place is on the other side of downtown Taxco. Which is still somehow less than a mile. Yeah it's a very small
place but I mean when it's raining it feels like a good bit. Anyway so it's 10 o'clock at night
when the tent just starts taking off. It just like runs all the way here. I'll show you what I look like.
I run like this. Down cobblestone roads here in Taxco Guerrero and this is honestly one of those
experiences that I don't think we'll ever forget because that was such a funny cute moment and I
really enjoyed it. I was laughing the whole way because I'm cute once I end up looking. This is
what we're going to call it a night. We're going to pick it up here in the morning. Apparently we're
going swimming. No you don't know that yet. It's a surprise. Bye bye. Bye.
