McDonald's Animal Style Fries Mukbang + Recipe Review
What's up guys? Welcome back to my channel. I'm so excited. I've gotten a few requests to do
animal style fries like In-N-Out has, but with McDonald's french fries. There are a couple
bloggers that have already done a video like this. I'll put them above here so that you guys can go
and see the original videos and I'll link them in the description below. But it's based on the pop
sugar recipe for the In-N-Out sauce because all it basically is is french fries, American cheese,
grilled onions, and then special sauce. So the special sauce is really what you need a recipe
for. And so I have my onions so we can go ahead and put those on. And actually before I do I just
want to say thank you guys so much for following along. If you haven't subscribed to my channel
yet, you can do so in the little red box below. And if you are not following me on Instagram,
I'll put the handle right below here. It's just at the underscore hunger underscore diaries.
Oh and I have one more announcement. So starting next week, I'm going to start posting two times
every week. So I'm going to be posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now on. The second video,
some of them will be like this, but some of them will be
ASMR, which I'm super excited about. I've wanted to do ASMR for a while now,
and workout videos. So I'm going to just have people video me doing my regular workouts and
like completely dying in them. I'm not a personal trainer so these are not instructional at all,
but a lot of you have been asking me what I do to stay in shape and I think this will give you
a pretty good idea of how I do it. So without further ado, let's finish off our toppings.
I got way too much by the way. I've never tried to eat like a ton of french fries before,
so this will be interesting. We'll just see how far I can go with this.
Let's see. Guys, I hate the lighting. Let's see if we can't change something.
Okay, I feel like this is a little bit better. Sorry, I can't stand not looking good on camera.
Anyways, so here's the the spread or the special sauce. This is the recipe from PopSugar.
As a bonus though, because I want to taste test to see if it's really like In-N-Out,
I smuggled some In-N-Out sauce back with me from California. Not a whole lot of it,
but I'm just going to put it on one corner and we can taste test them against each other.
Oh my. And we'll put the In-N-Out, the actual In-N-Out sauce on the side. It's so much food.
I have no idea how much I'm going to be able to eat, but we're going to try. And to drink,
my favorite. Ah, clearly kombucha. No, almost filled. All right. This is an outrageous amount
of food. I might just end up using my hands. All right, guys. First bite. It's a jagged bite.
Wow. Oh my God. That's so good. Like this is such an epic combination.
I wish In-N-Out's fries didn't suck so bad and that they weren't just like on the West coast
and they'd be getting this stuff all the time. This is so good. Damn it. Okay. Now let's try
the actual In-N-Out sauce. Hmm. Okay. So this recipe from pop sugar called for dill pickles.
This tastes like there's sweet relish in it, or maybe a combination of dill and sweet pickle
relish. I prefer dill. So I actually like the recipe better than the actual In-N-Out sauce.
If you like sweet relish though, I think you might like the In-N-Out sauce better.
So you can always just substitute sweet pickles or use like drain some sweet relish. So you don't
get all like the extra liquid and use that instead of, um, minced up pickle like dill pickle.
But yeah, I can't believe I like the pop sugar recipe better dill pickles all the way, man,
sweet relish is gross. Comment below if you disagree or comment below. If you do agree,
I want to know how you, what you guys like. There is so much sauce in these fries.
I think if I would change anything, like maybe I put a little less sauce on it
and I love a special sauce, but yeah, this is a lot.
So just so you guys know how much food this is,
because I wanted to like fill up, this is a new pan that I got.
I don't know if you guys have had this, this same problem, but I have bought like three sets
of these baking sheets. And every time I buy them, they warp in the oven. Like as soon as like
the, they heat up in the oven, they just like warp. They like twist and make this loud noise.
And like, sometimes food flies off of it. Excuse me. Anyways, it's a, um, less than ideal.
And so I went to Costco and I found a couple of these baking sheets.
And so I got them and I thought it was like a nice size. So I wanted to get like enough fries
to fill up the sheet, but like, I'm not going to be able to eat all this just so you know,
because this is eight large fries and then an entire portion or like the whole recipe for sauce,
one and a half onions with like a bunch of butter and olive oil.
I'll like write how I did the onions below as well. And then there's like 10 slices of cheese
on this. So much food. So in case any of you haven't had in and out special sauce before,
I think it's kind of similar to like McDonald's special sauce, but all it is is like, and also
like thousand Island dressing, like really similar to that. All it is is like a pink sauce, which is
equal parts, mayo and ketchup. And then they add, uh, onions and pickles, like chopped onion,
chopped pickle, salt, pepper, a little bit of sugar and a little bit more acid.
So they add a little mustard and a little vinegar. I'm not sure if in and outs using apple cider
vinegar, but that's the type of vinegar that is in this recipe. So it is pretty tangy. You
definitely get the apple cider vinegar when you, when you eat it. And, um, yeah,
I think it's super comparable though. And honestly, I'm surprised that McDonald's hasn't
done like a cheese fry with like really just their like American cheese and their special sauce,
because like they don't have to call it animal style, obviously. And they would probably get
in a lot of trouble if they did, but people love it. You know, maybe they're just don't want to be
copycats. They would bank on it though. So I wanted to kind of talk about something.
So I know that like the whole idea behind Mukbang is for people to eat like a bunch of food on
camera. And I get the appeal. I get that. You want to, you want to see like if people are going to
finish everything and like, Oh my God, are they actually able to eat all of that? And you know,
I get it. I click on that kind of stuff too, because I want to see if people can eat all that.
It's not something that I can really maintain. And I debated even putting all this on this,
this pan today. I know that there's other mukbangers though, that they put a ton of
food out and they only eat a portion of it, which I also understand because when you put a lot of
food out, it just looks better. So your thumbnail looks better. You know, if you have just like a
tiny amount of food or just a smaller amount of food, it just doesn't, um, it doesn't photograph
as well, you know? And so my idea behind having this much food out today was that I thought it
would look best to have the full like bottom half of the screen basically be covered in french fries
and just thought it would look cool. Um, but I had no intention of eating like divine munchies.
She's hilarious. She, um, she eats everything that she gets. And I mean, she's skinny,
she's very thin. And that's crazy to me. Like people think I can eat a lot and I can,
I think like anybody else, like there's certain things that I can eat more of than others. Um,
I can eat like a lot of like my favorite type of pasta. Um, I can eat a lot of chicken.
Um, you know, there's like Mac and cheese. Oh my gosh. I could throw down on Mac and cheese.
But there's some things that I like can't eat as much of like sweets, candy. So like
when I go to McDonald's typically, which is probably like once every month or two,
I love big Macs and I could, I think I've said it before. I want to have a big Mac eating
competition because I freaking love big Macs. And I feel like I could throw down, like I might be
able to eat five of them or something, but I never get fries with it because I always feel
bad eating them. And so like the nice thing about these videos is that I allow myself to not feel
as bad. Like, you know, everybody should submit to their, um, their cravings every now and then.
And so that's what I feel these mukbangs do for me. I'm like, I feel less guilty about
eating some of the foods that I don't necessarily allow myself to eat all the time.
Um, but yeah, eating like this much McDonald's, it would not be good.
All right, guys, actually more than I thought I was going to.
So this, I said it before, I believe, but this is eight large fries, eight large fries. I think I
ate about half, almost half. That's fair, right? Almost half. So at least three and a half,
probably large fries. I used like 10 slices of cheese. So it's a good amount. Half probably
would have been here, but I did eat stuff off of the top of this little strip. So I'm proud of
myself. I think it did pretty good. Um, I hope y'all are like not disappointed in my abilities,
but that's a lot of starch. So I've got a lot of exciting things planned for us though.
Um, I'm going to actually try and do less of these like extreme looking, uh, eating challenges
I want to make this channel more about reviewing food and because I love to eat so much, I want to
bring you guys along on the journey of me, like while I'm eating the food. So it's a mukbang in
the sense that I'm filming myself eating all of these things and reviewing them for you.
That's really the format that I'd like to stick to, um, for the most part in the future. Of course,
every now and then I will want to just go ham on something like a Big Macs or whatever it is.
And in that case, I will make an exception. Um, but yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I
hope it, um, it helped you decide, excuse me, if you want to try to make these yourself at home,
honestly, it was super duper easy to make the sauce. Um, and the onions, the onions take
probably 45 minutes. So as long as you just give yourself enough time for them to like go low and
slow and get all caramelized and delicious, um, it's super duper easy. And obviously all you have
to do is go and pick up some already made fries, which you know, are delicious. And if you have,
like, if you want to use crinkle cut fries or Wendy's fries or like your favorite restaurants,
fries, you could really do this with anything. And so, um, and also a great party food, I think.
So if you're going to like a football party or super bowl party, really, really neat idea. And
people be like, Oh my God, you got animal style fries. People will freaking love it. So I've
linked on the recipe and just how I did everything below for you guys. Thank you so, so, so much
again for watching. Again, if you like this video and you want to see more of my videos,
please hit the subscribe button down below. And if you want to be notified when my videos come on,
there's a little bell button next to the subscribe button that will notify you whenever I upload a
new video because YouTube does not always, uh, put the content that you want to see first. So
you kind of have to tell them what you want to see. And, um, if you have any comments, questions,
um, if you want to yell at me for not eating enough of the food, I'm sure plenty of you,
everyone always, someone always has something to say about, about that. Please comment below. Tell
me how you feel. Um, again, if you're not following me on Instagram, my handle is at
the underscore hunger, underscore diaries. And yeah, this has been fun guys. Um, I am now like
slowly slipping into a fry induced coma and I am determined to go to the gym though. I'm
going to go to the gym and possibly get sick after this. Anyways, I love you guys so much.
Thank you very much for watching and I will see you guys next Tuesday, next week. Don't forget
two times a week I'm posting. So be prepared to see me next Tuesday and next Thursday.
Alrighty guys. Love you so much. Bye.
