Hi, it's Scala. So I'm here with NHS Go, an app made by young people for young people. So today
we're going to be heading to LSE to go and talk to some students about health and fitness. So let's go!
What do you think is the biggest muscle in the body?
Biggest or most important? Like physically biggest?
Yes, like physically biggest.
Hamstrings or your like core.
Wow, the heart.
I actually have no idea.
The brain for some people, but not for me, maybe.
Really? Is the brain a muscle?
Glutes.
Yeah, it's the glutes. Which muscle in the body generates the most power?
The heart? I don't know.
I mean, that's a pretty good guess.
Is there one that has like, that starts off with more power than others?
So apparently, do you want me to tell you? Do you want to have another guess?
Apparently, your strongest muscle, like one that produced the most power is your jaw.
And I'm trying to remember the number. Okay, this is when I have to test my memory.
Your like, most your jaw has been able to like carry apparently under pressure is 972 pounds
for two seconds. Bam! I remembered that fact. Yes.
Oh, 975. Close enough. Close enough.
So do you do a lot of exercising? Like, because you don't know much about the muscle.
Well, I'm sorry. I actually do. I actually do.
I go to the gym and I swim and I play football and I cycle.
And I'm going to be cycling 2000 kilometers this summer from central Italy to Greece.
I've done a half marathon as well.
It was pretty fun because it was in Disneyland.
So I didn't even realize I was running because I was like, oh my gosh.
When you lose weight, where do you think the fat leaves your body from?
Doesn't it depend on what exercise you do and your body? No.
It transformed me in muscles now.
It's a very bizarre one, but you lose the fat through your breath.
So when you breathe, carbon dioxide leaves your body and that's the fat leaving your body.
That's so weird to think like we're breathing right now and it's just like fat coming out on that.
Where are 25% of your bones located?
I'm going to go with ear just because it sounds like there's a thing with a lot of bones in it.
Have you felt your ear?
Your torso.
Your torso. Okay. Is that your final answer?
Yes.
Are you sure?
Yes.
Would you like to phone a friend?
My phone could show the top of his ear.
Okay, let me just tell you.
So basically, apparently 25% of your bones are located in your foot, feet.
Not just one foot because I'm pretty sure they both have bones.
How many times do you think your heart beats in a day?
I don't know, like 70 times per minute.
Oh, that's some intense maths. Okay, come on.
So then there's 12 hours, 60 minutes.
That's 3,600 times, I said 70 or 90?
I said 70 because I have a low heart beat.
So 70 times 3,600 will be 24,000 basically.
Okay, like that was really impressive maths that you even tried it,
but apparently it's 100,000.
So the word endorphins comes from the word dolphins
because they're always happy.
True or false?
True.
Really? I'm going to just leave you with that.
I'm not even going to tell you the right answer.
I'm just going to be like, yeah, okay, true.
I'm going to say false on that one.
Yeah, I'm going to say false as well.
Okay, yeah, it is false. It is false.
Do you have a favorite dance move?
My favorite dance move? Yeah.
Show me.
Yes, please.
I started to dance bachata, do you know?
No.
How do you do it?
The Martha Wiggle.
Would you like to copyright that so everyone knows?
Okay, show us. Teach me how to do the Martha Wiggle.
Body pictures on Instagram.
One body picture on Instagram.
Yeah, it's a transformation picture.
So it's like, see, there's progress.
Oh, I love those.
So have you gone through a transformation?
Well, yeah, because I've been working out for a while.
So there definitely is a progress.
So I just wanted to show everybody.
I'll have to see it.
I love transformation.
Yes.
Oh my goodness.
I started off really skinny.
So that's okay.
That's amazing.
What were you talking about?
You're like, oh, I don't want it.
You should be taking pictures every single day.
Come out of the gym.
You take the picture.
No, no, no, no.
Really?
So I hope you guys learned a little bit more about health and fitness.
Thank you to the students at LSE for letting me ask them some random questions.
But if you want to learn more about health and fitness and that kind of thing,
make sure you go and check out the NHS Go app.
So more information will be there.
The link to the app will be down in the description box.
But anyway, guys, thank you so much for watching.
Stay healthy, stay luscious.
And I'll talk to you guys later.
