So I'm here with the 2021 Nissan Versa S. This is Nissan's entry-level sedan. My name is Christopher.
This is Cars Unlocked. We're going to go over what comes standard on the Nissan Versa. Let's get to
it. So if you're looking for your first sedan or an inexpensive sedan, Nissan's right in the top
three of North America's cheapest sedans. Now in the car business, we use the word
affordable. You see how I did that? Don't use the word cheap, use the word affordable. This one is
going to come with an MSRP of $17,898. In the U.S., you can get the manual version of this for $15,835.
So the manual is a little cheaper. This one is that Xtronic CVT. Let's go through the ins and outs.
So when we look at the front, the Nissan Versa is going to come with a few safety features that you
don't get with some of its competitors. Things like forward emergency braking. You can see the
Nissan emblem is flattened out here and that's going to help with your parking and that emergency
braking. It also has rear emergency braking, so a really like a kind of class leader in the safety.
We do have our chrome B-motion grille and we do have our halogen projector headlights.
You guys hear that thing roar? This thing is sitting on a 1.6-litre inline four-cylinder.
It's going to give you 122 horsepower and 114 pounds-feet of torque. You're going to buy this
car for the fuel economy. This one being the automatic, you're going to get 6.7 litres combined
between the highway and the city and then it's going to be equipped to the Xtronic Nissan CVT
transmission. When we look at the rear, you can see on the trunk, there is this little lip on
the back and that just makes it look a bit more sporty. Almost looks like it's rocking a rear
spoiler. We do have a backup camera as well. I mentioned the rear emergency braking, so for an
entry-level sedan you do get quite a few safety features. There is rear parking sensors as well
to assist you with parking and then there's lots of space in the trunk. It does have a very large
trunk. Dead body test. You could probably fit maybe one to two dead bodies in here. I would
say one and a half if you're into that, but definitely one dead body in the back of the trunk.
Lots of space. Let's jump in. Alright, let's jump in and check out the inside. As I mentioned,
there's a ton of safety on the vehicle. You get a lot of airbags. You get the driver-supported
knee airbags. You get the side curtain airbags. If you have a priority which is safety for your
family, then this car should definitely be on your radar. The seats are fairly comfortable.
What I like about this trim level is they didn't add that white kind of stitching that's in the
SV. When you go up to the SV, you get that white which I don't really enjoy. In terms of
infotainment, you have a 7-inch touchscreen here. To get the Apple CarPlay and the Android Auto,
you do have to go up, so that doesn't come standard, but you get your air conditioning.
You have a USB auxiliary. Push button start is going to come standard on all Versa, so you get
the Nissan Intelligent Key and then you have your cruise control and your Bluetooth which all come
standard. Here we are in the back and there isn't a huge amount of room, but there's enough. Let me
put it that way. For myself, I do have a bit of space. There's a cup holder in each door. There's
a little storage here and there's two USBs to charge my phone, so I'm content with the back
seat. Definitely, I like this diamond stitching that comes out of the front seats and into the
back. Three guys my size back here for a long time. I don't think they'd enjoy it too much,
but they can make it work. Definitely, two people is no problem. For a small car, this isn't that
bad. You can hear that CVT. It's got a little bit of a groan to it, but there is a surprising amount
of space in here. I don't feel close to you guys. Do you guys feel close to me sitting there?
I don't know. It does feel roomy. I could use an armrest. With some of the higher models,
you get that fold-down armrest that you like, but I could use an armrest for sure,
but you do get some positive features like the automatic headlights. You get the blind spot
monitoring as well, and then you also get the lane departure warning. A few good features that come
standard on this vehicle. You have this little dinky advanced drive assist display. That one,
they could do better with that, but I do like it. Seats are pretty comfortable, surprisingly
very comfortable. If it was me purchasing the vehicle, I would certainly be considering the
Sentra as well. They're going to work out to be around a similar payment. Your Versa might be just
a slightly lower payment than the Sentra, but I would be considering the Nissan Sentra as well.
I just feel like the Nissan Sentra has more value, but this isn't a bad drive. I could drive this for
a long time and still feel comfortable. I like the way the seats bolster my thighs here. The
air conditioning came on nice and quickly, and there isn't a lot of blind spots. I don't really
see any blind spots out the back. Obviously, you want to shoulder check, but with the mirrors out
wide enough, you can pretty much see your full length of your car. Let me know what you guys
think in the comment section below. If you guys have any thoughts, questions, do you own a Nissan
Versa? Let me know how it is for you, and we'll see what you have to say in the comments. Hopefully,
you learned something here today. This is what comes standard on the Nissan Versas.
If you want to learn more about the other packages, make sure you check out my videos
on the SVs and the SR trim levels. I'm going to be getting into the 2022s as they arrive.
