We are a FUN and ADVENTUROUS family of 6 who lost our son to SIDS in 2014. Our biggest regret was not having family videos of him when he was here and is why we started doing daily vlogs!
Thomas is a 2X North American Champion in his kick-boxing career and Ashley is a network-marketing professional and speaker in her company.
Together we have 5 year old Identical twins- Simon & Cohen. Our son Miloh was born 12/12/13 and passed away 5/20/14. We were blessed with our Rainbow baby Ezrah this year on 03/02/17 and we have loved sharing our every day journey with our followers and are looking forward to where this journey takes us!
This actually kind of made me a little bit mad
that they had this at the dollar store.
I'm not quite even sure how much these are
at the regular stores.
Shrink rack, shrink rack.
So today's video is all about
the things you might not have known
are at the dollar store.
I have separated everything into different categories
and I'll kind of be tackling them by each category.
All right, starting with some kid things.
I have bought this soap and this soap
so many times at the regular store
and it was like six or seven dollars a piece.
Same size, found at the dollar store.
Band-aids, a pack of 20.
Then there are toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Now moving on to some of my personal care items
that I like.
This huge brush, these are my favorite kinds of brushes.
Again, these are a couple dollars.
Anywhere else, it's the same exact type of brush,
just one dollar.
My hair clips are missing
so I just picked up a few more of these.
These are my favorite things
when I'm washing my hair at night.
I just stick one of these bad boys on
and then do my thing.
And we lost our squirt bottle so picked one up there
and I just squirt the boys hair in the morning with water.
Moving on to containers.
I really only buy containers at the dollar store.
For makeup, see I have,
this is for like lipsticks and brushes
so that is where I get it.
I have one of these in my bathroom
and I keep my bobby pins, elastics,
and then those clips that I showed you.
I have one of those in my bathroom drawer
but I need one in my master bathroom as well
so I picked up another one.
I was just telling Thomas this morning
that we need more storage containers
so I grabbed a couple.
There's three different,
there's three of them in each one of these things
for a buck and this one has two for this size.
So we are not much, whoop!
We do not use these much, we only need a couple
but this way I'm gonna throw out all of our old ones
that have mismatched lids and start new.
I'm gonna put this in with the containers
even though it's not a container
but this is awesome.
So you just put this over your cabinet
and then you hang dish towels on it.
Something else I loved about it
is it has these rubber little pads right here
so it won't scratch the back of your door.
I also picked up two new laundry baskets.
These are kinda small but I mean, they get the job done
so I got these two to put in Simon and Cohen
and Ezra's room.
And this is not a container but I'm gonna put it with that
because it's kind of a random.
These are really great quality.
I mean, look at the, it's really thick plastic.
Again, at Petco, these would probably be
about $7 a piece and I mean, they're good decent size.
I'm actually gonna get these for Pickle
because I find myself filling up his food all day
because his bowls are so small.
So these are great for him.
We have a guest coming and anytime we have guests
that stay here, I like to just put some things
in the guest bathroom downstairs.
I put this soap in the shower
and I put like a loofah on there
and then I also have this lavender scent.
These literally smell amazing.
So they have tons of different kinds of scents there
but you can see there's just like these holes
and then these jelly balls and I put this on the toilet
and it just makes the whole bathroom smell great.
Now moving on to some of my summer finds.
There's not much I have right here.
Actually, we'll start with this.
Okay, so I need a tiny little window box
for some flowers that we're doing on a little tiny door.
So I picked this up.
It's super small.
It's the perfect size for what I need it for
but yeah, can't beat a dollar.
I always find really cute summer plates
and these are great quality, you guys,
for how much you get and like,
you can't beat how cute those are.
They're so stinking cute.
We always have guests over for the 4th of July
so anytime the dollar store stocks up on their plates
or napkins, I always grab a bunch of them.
So I just picked up a couple packs
of these 4th of July plates and then these napkins.
They did have these in the plates as well
and they had like this style of napkins
but I just wanted to switch it up.
And then these are kind of random
but I grabbed some of these for our front yard.
I thought these were really cute.
They're just big sticks to stick in your yard anywhere
and yeah, we'll just put these probably
in the front yard around the bushes.
Moving on to the kitchen area,
just all the things that you need in the kitchen.
I always buy spoons.
We actually were in desperate need of some of these
so I picked up a pack of four of these plastic spoons.
Something I have been looking for forever
around our house is our dustpan.
I swear that always goes missing
so I picked up a new one and this has that rubber lip
so these are like the best ones you can buy.
I also picked up these cute place mats.
I feel like you can never have enough of those
especially with a couple of kids.
And let me show you my very favorite plates.
Some of these are old.
I just wanted to show you
because it's the only kind of plates
that we use for our kids.
So I grabbed these ones actually
out of the dishwasher just now.
But these are my favorite plates.
They're the only ones our kids use
unless they're using a paper plate
but this really helps me with making sure
they're getting different servings of food.
So they're not just eating a sandwich with nothing else.
I always put like dip in here.
I'll put carrots or lettuce
because they love to just dip salad.
And then usually like fruit
or some other vegetable right here.
I will also use this space to put their cup in.
So this is something else I wanted to show you guys.
These are their favorite cups.
We have these in like every single color you can think of
but they think it's so fun to drink out of the straw.
And also their bowls.
So I just picked up a couple new ones of these
but this way they can drink the milk.
They love cereal milk after that.
So we have a bunch of colors of these.
I also picked up a microfiber duster.
This is probably something you didn't know
was at the dollar store
but what you can do after you use it
is you just unhook it, slide it off
and throw it in the wash.
We needed some more kitchen towels.
So these are so dang soft and thick.
You can probably see right there.
I love these so much.
So these are like really the only kind
that we use in our kitchen.
This is a sink plunger.
I don't know if you've ever seen these before.
This is my favorite way to plunge the sink
instead of having to reach in
after you have gross water in your sink.
This way the top is sticking out
instead of having to reach your hand
in the gross, dirty water.
Now if you've seen these at the dollar store,
these are called chargers.
You put plates on top of them
and they make the table setting look so beautiful.
So I always have these in a ton of different colors.
I have gold and silver and white.
Really just depending on the season it is,
but I always pick these up at the dollar store.
Okay, we're almost done.
If you have another mat, you could put underneath this.
This was a very cheap dollar mat,
but it really does make your front porch look nice.
Moving on to gifts and gift bags.
With Father's Day being just around the corner,
do not go anywhere but the dollar store for your cards.
Cards are usually between five and seven dollars.
That's pretty average.
And these are great cards for just a dollar.
That's the only place I get cards.
For Mother's Day, they had the most beautiful,
like they had all these glitter.
They looked like they were $13 Hallmark cards
and they were at the dollar store.
So that is just a quick tip for you.
Never buy cards anywhere else but Dollar Tree.
I also picked up a couple of bags.
These were two for a dollar.
And then these huge gift bags, just a dollar, guys.
I mean, how can you even beat that?
These are like Target bags for a dollar.
I also always grab my gift boxes there.
So you can get these.
This is a three pack of just like for jewelry
or something small.
And then this is a three pack of the boxes.
I love these shrink rack, shrink rack.
I love these shrink wrap.
Why am I stuttering so bad?
Shrink wrap bags.
I just had to say that like 10 times
because I could not say it right.
But these are awesome.
Something else I always get at the dollar store
are the cellophane, I don't know.
It's the clear wrapping paper basically
and that's how I make gift baskets.
That is like the only place I can ever find it
is at the dollar store.
And then, I mean, can you even with these bows?
How cute and for a dollar, what?
There are two bows on this one and is that two?
Yeah, no, this is just one big, big fluffy bow.
And these are like my favorite little containers
just for different gifts.
They're perfect to put anything little inside.
This actually kind of made me a little bit mad
that they had this at the dollar store.
These happy birthday candles.
If you can remember on Simon and Cohen's birthday,
I had these on their waffles in the morning.
I paid $7 per box.
$7, that was $14 for like two seconds
because these suck.
These really are not good candles.
They're not good quality.
They like were melting before we even sang happy birthday.
Like you couldn't even tell what the letter was anymore.
So I'd much rather pay a dollar than 14 next time.
And Thomas's birthday is right around the corner
so I picked some of these up for him.
Now moving on to our last category.
These are things you probably really had no idea
were at the dollar store.
And this category is kind of like the hardware,
paint, supply, stuff you'd buy at Lowe's or Home Depot
and you can get it at the dollar store.
Starting with a leveler.
A leveler, leveler?
Why does that not sound right?
It levels for you so you know if you're level.
You know what, I should probably put this
on my camera right now.
Let's see how we're doing.
Yeah, we're pretty level.
These are some stain pens.
I needed this this morning
and I used a permanent marker instead
but this would have definitely come in handy.
This is a screwdriver set.
All the different styles and sizes you would need.
Thomas was actually looking for razor blades the other day
to get some like, there was like a clump of stain somewhere
and he needed to like just, you know, razor it off.
And now I have a whole pack for him.
We are always needing this because we are always
not being safe when we paint
and we just let paint go everywhere.
So I picked this up for us.
Oh and then a sanding sponge.
I'm not quite even sure how much these are
at the regular stores but I figured, you know,
you can't go wrong for a dollar.
We paint a lot.
I do know how much this stuff costs and it's not cheap
but I picked this up, a roller.
I call these rollers too, the sponge for the roller, okay?
This handle for your paintbrushes when you're painting,
you know, you just wanna like hold the paint
and get your job up high.
And then this trusty dusty paint tray.
It's like hardcore.
I mean, check that out.
Who would have thought all this stuff at the dollar store?
Well that will conclude our dollar store haul.
Thank you guys so much for watching.
I have another one coming at you soon
specifically on dollar store gift ideas.
I think that would be a really helpful, beneficial video
to anybody who needs like that last minute gift idea.
So thank you guys so much for watching
and we'll see you guys next time.
Bye.
