The Pyramids of Egypt! _ Travel Vlog.
Do you need proof?
It's right here.
Look.
Look, look, look!
That's a pyramid.
There's another pyramid over there.
We're in Egypt!
Definitely has been on one of my bucket lists for so long and now we're finally here.
Cairo is a crazy place so I definitely will warn everyone about coming here just because
I think you need a little bit more backbone and just a little bit more of a straight head
on your shoulder because this is not a paradise.
This is definitely a large city, huge city, and it's just way crazy, chaotic, and vibrant
and ready to explore.
So we've been here for maybe like two days, like a day and a half actually, so we just
kind of got acclimated.
If you want to find out how we got here to Cairo, we did the very DIY by traveling through
land from Jordan to Israel, then Egypt.
That was hard.
If you guys are actually doing that, watch my other travel videos to get some tips and
just see how it was for us and then maybe you can learn from our mistakes and not do
what we did or if you're there then you can kind of do what we did.
Anyway, so today we're taking a full day tour or mostly full day tour, looks like we're
going to go to see the Giza pyramids, we're going to go see Memphis and also the pyramids
at Saqqara.
So this is a whole day thing, so for the very first part of the trip, we're definitely going
for it.
And after that, I think we're also going to go downtown and see some of the cool stuff
like markets, mosques, citadels, etc.
So that's going to be at the later part, so let's go!
Hey, don't scare the person.
I give you the best location, take a photo.
So we are here at the Giza pyramids!
So we have an awesome guide, her name is Iman and our driver's name is Muhammad.
And so we're doing this tour and they took us to the very first place and I want to see
it, there, that thing, do you see that thing?
Yeah, we're going to see that thing.
It's going to be so much fun!
Oh, it's massive!
It looks like that was the main entrance right up there somewhere.
Then a guy in the 9th century made another hole and then now you've got all of us walking
all over.
It's really funny.
But it's very cool, everyone's climbing a pyramid.
Wow!
Alright, so we just learned that there are always three temples when it comes to a king.
And they're all around the pyramid where the pyramid is the tomb where they lay the king.
So the three temples are the Valley of the King, the Valley of the King for King Khufu
was over there, and then the mortuary temple is this black one right here.
And then we're going to go to the third one, whatever that one is, soon.
But right now we're waiting for all of these kids to leave so that we can go inside the
tomb of the mother of the king.
So we're climbing down into the pyramid of the mother of the king and this is crazy!
You're really good.
We're going to take a camel ride.
I think it's included, or it's not included, and it's 400 Egyptian pounds per hour.
So just know that price if you're looking at them.
But I think we're going to get camels!
So, we're riding a camel right now.
And it's very...
It's really funny.
Oh my god.
So now we're in Saqqara and we are now going to check out the step pyramids.
Looks like this is the entrance.
So we're inside the open courtyard of the Step Pyramids.
Which is right here behind me.
I hope you can see that.
And it was the very first pyramids that were ever built.
It was a trial one.
So you can see that the pyramid was built in a steps way where there are six steps,
six levels.
So the base and then smaller all the way at the top.
So that the king could go visit the god in the morning.
Which is pretty awesome.
We're at a restaurant, like a huge restaurant area that's right next to Saqqara.
And it's included into a group and I think it's definitely part of this whole system
because they got tons of people doing the same thing we are.
And they've got this really cool, I don't know, is this charcoal?
Charcoal chicken.
Definitely worth it.
Okay.
Day two.
Or at least a bunch of us are doing stuff.
But we're going out to Cairo so that we can, I think we're doing the museum.
Then we're doing the tower.
Hi.
And then maybe the market and see where we go.
Uber driver trying to get here.
He looks confused just like we would be too.
We just got a little taste of the Cairo, Cairo traffic.
How was that guys?
Really easy, only took 40 minutes to get really close.
Oh man.
It's definitely a crazy, crazy world out here.
Here it is.
The oddly pink building of the Egyptian museum.
Look how crowded it is.
This is definitely probably the most chaotic museum I've ever visited.
It's definitely, I would say smaller than I thought it would be.
But that's clearly why they're making a much bigger one later to accommodate for all of this crowd.
You can see that there's so much people here.
But we've had a lot of recommendations that this museum will change your life.
That's what I've heard at least three times on different either blog posts or people have actually been here.
So I'm excited, just wish I didn't have to deal with all this chaos.
Awesome.
So this coffin was inside this coffin.
Which was inside of this coffin.
Which was inside in the last one.
Damn.
Just finished checking out the Egyptian museum.
Definitely one of the most remarkable museums just because we saw so much history.
I definitely think everyone should do it with a guide because there's no labels whatsoever.
And you can get all that information unless you had someone who knew it.
So, $300? No, no, no.
Kind of like $100 per person per guide.
Or $300 for the hour for the three of us.
I mean that's like $5, $6 per person.
And that's a wealth of knowledge so definitely do it.
Every day we can be having Egyptian breakfast.
With a view.
Today is day three that we are out and about in Cairo now.
And interestingly enough from the first day that we tried to go out and what did we say?
We went to the museum yesterday.
It took like an hour plus or an hour to and from to get where we were in Giza.
And so now we have to keep that in mind when we're going out.
Because poor Uber drivers have to sit there with us for like an hour.
But anyway, so we just met a really cool Uber driver actually.
And he was also part tour guide.
So he actually drove us around a little bit more and took us to the Al-Mawar or something.
So that was really cool.
But now we're going to this mosque right here.
So we just went into the Al-Hussein mosque over there.
It was very cool.
There's a special section for just women and just men.
So I went to the just women section.
And it was so nice because a nice Muslim woman helped me put on my whole thing.
Because I had no idea what I was doing.
But it was a very beautiful prayer area room that I went into.
And I think it might have been close to prayer time because it was so crowded.
But it's really beautiful. It's really cool.
Now we're going to go that way.
Hussein told us that there's a tunnel that connects the Khan Khalili and Hussein mosque to the Al-Azhar mosque.
Oh my god, I'm getting it wrong.
But we're under it right now. We're going to go see.
Khan Khalili
We're inside Khan Khalili.
And definitely this is where the bargaining happens.
So if you see something you like, of course they're going to give you a top dollar for it.
And then you just kind of go like this.
So it's not every day that you have the pyramids right on your doorstep.
And you can watch them every morning and every night.
Actually you can if you stay here at the Makati Pyramids View.
I'll link them below.
We had a really great stay here and really loved the service and hospitality that Mahmood and his team has had here.
So big ups to them.
They're literally right here in front of the pyramids.
So it's really easy to book tours or just visit the pyramids for the day.
We were also pretty close to Saqqara and Memphis as well.
So when we did that tour, all three of those were so close.
We didn't have to go through so much traffic.
Our stay here in Egypt has been amazing.
It definitely is a little different.
So I will say for the casual traveler or the kind of traveler that everything is very simple.
This type of travel here in the city is a little different.
I will say it is very chaotic.
There's a lot of traffic and everyone is ready to start hustling for money.
So you have to really be on your toes and thinking ahead of the game.
Because this is definitely not a normal destination.
But regardless, you do get the pyramids.
And how often do you get to see these?
They're beautiful, they're magnificent, they're a marvel.
I have no idea how they're still standing after 4,000 plus years.
And honestly, one of the best bucket list items that we've gotten to see on this tour.
So hopefully you guys learned a little bit more about Egypt and the pyramids from this travel vlog.
Again, if you liked it, hopefully you did, make sure to like it and also subscribe.
So you know when there's going to be more.
And for now, I'm just going to leave you with the pyramids.
