The Old City Jerusalem + the DEAD SEA! _ Travel Vlog
We're in Jerusalem!
We just checked into our hostel.
We have two and a half days here and we're going to try to make the most of it.
We've got a walking tour today at 11am and then I think tomorrow we're going to try to
make it to the Dead Sea.
So hopefully it all works out and in between we're just going to explore a little bit more.
Maybe like the Mehane Yehuda Market.
Some more things to try and eat and then we'll just kind of see where the rest of the day
takes us.
We just entered the area for the Western Wall also known as the Wailing Wall and you have
to be modestly dressed, go through security, make sure that nothing is suspicious on your
person.
It looks like there is a men's section of prayer and then there's a women's section
of prayer.
So it looks like I think anyone can join or at least just observe from there.
As long as you put on it looks like a yarmulke and I'm not sure about the women on that side
but this is it.
Walking through Jerusalem is so fun and so distracting because you are just surrounded
by all the shops.
I think we just joined the largest free walking tour.
Look at all these people.
And of course we found Falafel Eid.
His massive schnitzel plate.
We just finished the tour, the free walking tour and we're going to learn a ton of things.
So Jerusalem is the home of three main religions.
It's a holy location for Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
And it's really important for Jews because it's where the Wailing Wall is and that's
where the Holy Temple first stood.
It's holy for Islam because that's where Muhammad ascended to heaven.
And it's holy for Christians because that's where, here's where Jesus got crucified and
resurrected.
So a very holy special place.
So we want to see the Dome of the Rock and we tried any close entrance and they have
a rule that only Muslims can enter through certain entrances and tourists can go through
only one.
And that's this side.
Entering in from the Western Wall and over through that gate.
So keep that in mind.
So we got here just in time before the end of this period of visiting hours which ends
at 3.30.
It's 2.30.
2.30.
So make sure you check what times you can visit Temple Mount and plan accordingly.
So we're about to go on Via Dolorosa which is the path that's believed that Jesus took
with his cross to crucifixion.
We're almost here and it leads you to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
A lot of the Old City today learned a lot from that tour and also just by walking around
and I think tomorrow we're going to try to get to the Dead Sea and then do a few other
things too.
So tomorrow is going to be another day.
Ha!
We just got a U-Rope car and we just got a...
You're in my shot.
A Fiat!
We're going to the Dead Sea today.
We are doing it DIY style aka no tour, no guide.
We're doing this all by ourselves.
So we know that we can drive just a little bit east to Kaila Beach using their resources
and facilities.
This car cost us $28.16 for the rental, $22 for their mandatory Israeli fee.
And I think that's it.
I think we're going to go to the Dead Sea now.
Jerusalem.
I think we followed the road called Ramot.
I'm probably butchering that.
Called Ramot and we took it all the way east and no toll roads, no questions and we went
straight till we hit Kaila Beach which is this thing right here.
I think it's the first beach that a person can just visit.
I don't know.
We're going to find out how much this costs.
We made it to the west bank of Kaila Beach!
Woo!
Kaila Beach!
I hope I have enough money.
I didn't even think about that.
Made it in.
Looks like there's a first house, duty free massage, spa, and US dollar.
Natural black mud beach.
Lowest bar.
Here's the lowest bar in the world.
Mine is 4 times.
But it's still here.
So it looks like we've made it to the Dead Sea.
Don't get your head in the water.
It pops you up.
It pops you up, yeah.
Here's a tip for you.
Don't spray when you put in pet pee.
Because it freaking hurts.
I'm right here and he's right there.
I'm flooding.
The next thing you do is you find some of the black mud and you give yourself a mud bath.
We're going to go try to find some of that.
So even though we got this car so that we can go to the Dead Sea, we thought okay let's do all the far things too.
Like go to the museums, things that you can't walk to, or maybe there's no tram.
I don't know what's happening today.
It must be some crazy election or holidays or something.
But Irving and I have been stressed out for the last hour trying to get back.
And Omar's working in the back.
Get home.
So we gave up because this is too crazy.
Just want to get home, return the car, get back to the hostel, shower, find beer probably.
Oh my god.
We picked the right day to rent a car.
Alright guys, it's already been a fantastic three days here in Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
But I'm going to have to end this travel vlog because now we're moving on to Jordan.
So I hope that this video either helps or inspires you to come visit this place here in Jerusalem or the Dead Sea.
Because it is an absolutely miraculous experience for either area.
And hopefully you can also see the Dead Sea too before it's gone.
Because it looks like it's definitely going away.
Again, thank you guys so much for watching my travel vlogs.
Hopefully they help you.
So also just remember to like and subscribe if you like them.
Alright, see you guys in the next video.
