Well, the time is finally here. Zora and I will be leaving Utah in just a few minutes after we get
one last set of zoomies out in the snow here because there is so much there. It just keeps
snowing. It will not stop. So we're gonna jump around in the snow one last time, hop in the car
and drive to Boise, Idaho tonight. I think that's where we'll stop. We'll see how we feel, but that's
the tentative plan. I am so excited to leave Utah. We've been here a month and I have been
ready to leave for a couple of weeks. To finally get in the car and go for another road trip
makes me so happy. All right, little moose. Hold on. Wait. Look at that pile. It just keeps growing.
This is post hole central. My goodness. Go in. Good job. I think I should have put on pants.
This is great. Moose, are you having fun? Good job. She's gone.
Found a snowball. Good job, Zora. Whoa! Gator incoming. Snowshoes would have been so helpful
for this. Here we are, putting in that post hole work. Look at this. That is from me. Let me show
you how deep that is. As some sort of reference for how much snow we have, that is the dog park
fence over there. Even in the snow, you know the drill. Hold on. Go slow. Oh, she's queen.
She's regulating who gets to use the trails today. All right, we have quite the mess in here.
I have to get a little runway for her because otherwise she gets her muddy paws everywhere.
There we go. Looks good. Zora! Zoomies are all out and we are ready to hit the road.
These are what you call serious snow banks. Imagine just throwing yourself into one of those.
That'd be kind of fun. Oh, baby. Almost to 50,000. It's a great day to be alive.
The way that I can feel all of the water melting off my boots into my boots.
Off in the distance, those are the ochre mountains. When I looked them up the other day
to possibly go explore them, it turns out most of them are private land.
So that entire range runs about 30 miles from north to south
and there's about two areas that you can hike in that entire range.
I currently have a toss-up between Maverick and Loves for favorite truck stop or gas station,
but I think Maverick might be winning out right now. I need a drink and maybe a snack if I see
something good. Two great things, Maverick and DQ. Can't beat that combo. I got the large straw
for the large cup, but this thing is massive. I couldn't get situated before I had to leave
because there was somebody waiting to get gas and I was panicking because I was trying to leave quick.
Okay, we're ready. Back on the road. The little one is really good at letting me know when she
needs to get out of the car and we've only been driving for about an hour, hour and 15 minutes,
so it hasn't been that long and she had just gone potty right before I put her in her crate,
so I didn't think she was gonna need to go at this stop and she didn't even move whenever I
stopped. I haven't heard a single peep out of her, so I would say she's good to go. She's definitely
gonna get out at the next stop, which is gonna be in probably another hour and a half, maybe two
hours, and we'll do some more zoomies.
Last time I was in Idaho, I got quite sick and I ended up driving home 27 hours straight without
food or water because I couldn't eat or drink. It was brutal. I still don't know how I did it
because I can't even drive 27 hours right now being able to eat or drink, so I don't know.
It's a feat that I hope to never experience again. Well, that's that's the addiction to
fair life shakes continues. It's only my second one today though. I'm doing pretty good. Usually
I'm 3D, but 4 o'clock. So here are all these beautiful white hills and then there's this
giant hill of trees. Everything else is treeless except for this hill. I have questions.
Impeccable timing. Right on cue, we have our next rest stop and this one is chaotic. My goodness,
there's a lot of trucks here. What do y'all do? Oh, hello friends. I'm just gonna scooch on by.
Thank you. I guess they have some issues here. The vending machines are behind cages.
It is eerily quiet at this rest stop. This is quieter than Kansas rest stops.
Let's go get the gator dog. Good girl. Always gotta let her enjoy some sniffs.
Look at that setup. Yes, good job. You taking me back to the car?
Time to keep moving. Zora and I are currently 35 minutes from Boise
and the first stop is going to be the gym. Are we surprised? No, not at all.
Mostly because it's a 24-hour gym and I know that I can park there overnight.
So we are going to pull in, feed the gator dog, and then just chill for the rest of the night.
Well, well, well. If it isn't the very thing we wished for.
Here's our parking spot. We needed something that was not off on its own but not in the
thick of everybody and we found it. Welcome to Boise. So one of my favorite parts about
showing up in cities or places that I've never seen before in the dark is that when I wake up
in the morning I never know what to expect and that is kind of fun. So we'll see what
Boise looks like in the morning. Zora, are you hungry? She's waiting all patient back there
for me to say Zora break. Evening chores are done and I am wearing shorts for the night because it
is so warm here. It's in the 40s and it feels incredible. So all that's left to do is pack
my gym bag for tomorrow and throw all the stuff next to the kennel in the kennel so I can go to
bed. Our bed is set up. Gator is coming to the back and we are going to bed. So good night everybody.
I just found a good spot to stop and we're gonna explore here a little bit and play,
have fun, go potty, and then get back on the road.
It's time to acquire the handy dandy snack bag and see what we've got for
lunch. A little bit of beef jerky and this is a fun bag. How about a, if I can get to it,
lemon cake protein bar. Should do it. I find it nearly impossible to justify car washes.
But I spend money whenever I know I'm going to drive through a puddle like five minutes later
and what will have I spent that money for? I really want to clean it but I can't justify
spending that money. I also am pretty particular about never going through automated car washes.
Thank you dad for instilling that in me. I'm here to share stories inside some philosophers
stood and you subjectively adopted. After about a 10 and a half hour drive from Salt Lake City
we have made it to Bend, Oregon where we will spend the foreseeable future. So thanks for
tuning in on this week's vlog and we will see you next week for some adventures in Bend.
