Newcastle in talks to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan

Moving on, having watched that Champions League final at the weekend when Inter pushed Man City so hard, could one of their standout players be heading to Newcastle? This could be a huge coup if this one comes off. You know, Newcastle United so far, everyone expected them to go big in the market since the new owners came in, but they've done it quite organically so far, haven't they? This would represent quite a big signing if they were to sign the Inter Milan midfielder Nicola Barella. Fantastic footballer, so vital to Italy, so vital to Inter Milan as well. The talks are centering around a potential transfer of around £50 million. We understand Eddie Howe, the manager, is a big, big fan of Barella, 26 years old, great age, 43 caps for Italy. You mentioned he played in the Champions League final, he also played in the Euro 2020 final when Italy won against England, and of course he's won Serie A with Inter Milan a couple of seasons ago as well. Newcastle's record transfer so far is £60 million. That was what they paid for Alexander Isak. This would be around £50 million, but it would be a big, big signing if they were to get this one over the line.
