Welcome to this second video dedicated to the Padecardena Today's hike will take us
A Rifugio Sassopiato We will depart from Monte Pana near the cable car to Monte Seura
We will start by taking trail number 30 towards the Vicenza Refuge
The initial path is
easy consisting of a wide and comfortable dirt road
We arrive at this fork so we take trail 525
The view opens up here with a beautiful panorama of the Sassopiato
The dirt road here becomes a path and climbs sharply toward the Vicenza Refuge
That's the path you need to take to reach the Sassopiato Refuge
The view opens up towards the Alpe di Siusi here It is the largest plateau
Europe with an altitude ranging from 1680 to 2350 meters above sea level
So we take trail 527 towards the Sassopiato Refuge
At this point the view opens up with a great panorama of the Sassolungo
The Vicenza Refuge nestled between the Sassolungo and Sassopiato
We will not reach the Refuge we will continue along the trail towards Sassopiato
We are here at the foot of Sassopiato The view opens
up again here with a great vantage point towards the Odle group
The views from this point towards the peaks of the Scigliar Catinaccio Natural Park are excellent
We finally reach the Sassopiato Refuge at 2300 meters above sea level
The trail to the summit of Sassopiato also starts in front of the Refuge
A quasi 3000 meters above sea level
After a lunch break we descend the same way we came
We take trail number 9 towards the Zallinger Refuge
In this section we can admire beautiful wooden representations of the Way of the Cross
We are in sight of the Zallinger Shelter
Visit the area around the Refuge then return
and take trail number 531 back to Mount Pana
Always great views towards the Sassolungo on the left and the Sassopiato on the right
We continue to follow the directions towards Mount Pana
Doverosa is a beautiful lake reflecting the Sassolungo at this point
We continue along the path beyond the pond to return to Monte Pana
We have reached the end of the hike a very nice and very scenic one
The trail is suitable for everyone including families as it does not present significant difficulties
From a technical standpoint however the length must be taken into account as we are about 17 km
Therefore a solid preparation is definitely needed
