Hello everyone, I'm Thuan. Welcome back to my channel.
In today's video, I'm going to talk about the topic of school.
This is a topic that many of you have asked me to make a video about.
But until today, after my friend, Binoc, has been studying for a while,
I can finally combine my experiences to share with you guys.
And in today's video, I also have a giveaway for those who are preparing to go to school.
So please watch the whole video to participate in the giveaway.
The first question is from Ngoc Lam.
This is also a question that many of you have asked me.
How old is the most suitable age to go to school?
Before, we often see children starting to go to school at the age of about 3 years old.
However, later, when early education develops,
there are many scientific studies that have shown that
the period from 0 to 3 years old is the golden period of early childhood development.
Therefore, allowing children to go to school early before the age of 3
will help them develop athletic skills,
language skills, as well as skills in everyday life earlier and better.
In addition, many mothers also need to return to work early.
But the family does not have a child, so they also need to let the child go to school early.
I see some psychologists advising that the suitable age to let the child go to school
is about 16 to 24 months.
At this age, children have a good ability to adapt to the new environment.
The ability to learn is also very fast and is in the speaking age.
Therefore, when children go to school early,
their ability to speak will be better as well as their vocabulary will be more abundant.
But more importantly, I still think that each child will have a different level of development.
Therefore, parents will observe the children.
Parents will be the ones who clearly understand the development of their children.
Therefore, parents will feel at what time is suitable to be able to reassure the child to go to school.
In my case, I originally planned to let her go to school at the age of 18 months.
However, there was still a pandemic at that time,
so I had to wait until the pandemic was over before I could let her go to school.
Now, she is 22 months old.
At this time, she can speak quite a lot.
She can also speak a sentence of 7-8 words
and can tell the story to her mother in very simple words.
Her communication skills are generally quite good,
so I feel at ease when I let her go to school at this time.
The second question is, what are the criteria for choosing a school for Binix?
This is also a question that many mothers have sent me.
I will share with you some criteria in my personal opinion
in choosing a school for Binix as well as the time I have experienced to refer to.
The first criterion is the convenient school location for picking up.
That is, we will prioritize choosing schools near our home
or schools near our parents' company
to make it convenient for picking up our children every day.
I think we all don't want to go to work late or go to school late every day.
Not to mention moving on the street,
we can also get stuck in traffic, dust, very tired.
In general, if we choose a remote school,
we will have to spend a lot of time moving every day,
and the children are still small,
so I think that children moving far away are also quite tired.
Children usually go to school in the morning from 7.30 to 8.00
and in the afternoon from 4.00 to 4.30.
I think parents should agree with each other
to see who will pick up the children every day,
parents or grandparents,
so that from there we can choose a school with a convenient location.
In addition, some schools also have school buses to pick up children at home.
If you choose a remote school,
parents can ask the school about this service.
The second problem that parents also need to discuss and agree with each other
is the cost of tuition for a month.
2-4 million, 5-7 million, 8-10 million, or 11-15 million or more,
depending on the financial ability of each family.
When we determine the tuition fee for each month,
we will be able to choose schools that are more suitable and faster.
Later, there will be no pressure on financial issues.
I understand that parents always want to choose the best for their children.
However, if people have not been able to decide the tuition fee,
there will be cases that people go to a school with a tuition fee
that is too high compared to our current financial ability.
Of course, that school is very good and wonderful
and we all want our children to go to that school.
But our financial ability does not allow it.
This will inadvertently create financial pressure for parents.
Therefore, determining the appropriate tuition fee right from the start
will help us find schools that are more suitable for our financial ability.
The tuition fees for children are usually divided into
tuition fee, food fee, and some schools are separate.
The tuition fee for the school's facilities,
the tuition fee for children's uniforms,
the tuition fee for the school's activities,
or the tuition fee for keeping the child outside,
after 4.30 pm or on Saturday,
the tuition fee for the school's car,
for example,
when parents contact the school,
the school will give them very careful advice.
The tuition fees for children can be paid in months,
in installments, and in years.
Of course, in installments and in years,
the monthly fee will be lower than the monthly fee.
Parents can also consider this.
The third criteria is to choose the appropriate education method.
Currently, young schools have adopted many famous education methods.
I'm sure everyone has heard of them,
such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia,
Standard, Glendalman, STEAM,
Vietnamese Education and Training Institute,
and other methods.
Some schools also apply these methods flexibly.
I think all methods are very good and interesting.
Parents can google to learn more about these methods
and see which method suits their child's personality.
If parents want their child to learn more English,
they can prioritize schools that have time to learn English during the day,
such as language schools and international schools.
When visiting the school,
parents should ask teachers about the school's education methods,
activities and skills that the child will learn in school every day.
At the same time, parents should observe the children studying in the classroom
to see if the classroom environment is suitable for the child's personality
and whether the school's education point of view is suitable for the child's family.
When choosing a school for Pinocchio,
I visited 3 schools,
and all 3 schools have completely different living environments.
Everyone can base on their own feelings
to see which environment is most suitable for the child's personality
and the family's upbringing point of view.
When choosing an environment that suits the child's personality,
it will be easier for the child to adapt,
integrate faster,
and develop better abilities.
The fourth criteria is the physical infrastructure of the school and hygiene.
This is also a very important criteria that will be evaluated when parents visit the school in person.
Parents should observe carefully
to see if the children's classroom environment is airy and spacious.
Do your toys and school tools have a short arrangement?
And do you clean regularly?
How is your sleeping place?
How is the dining room?
Are the children's toilet areas cleaned regularly?
And does the school's kitchen have a toilet box?
Is it clean?
Parents should directly go to the classroom
and to the living areas of their children to feel
because the children will stick to this place every day
and the school is like their second home.
Especially children under the age of 3
when they go to school,
they are very prone to diseases and viruses from the surrounding environment.
Therefore, ensuring clean hygiene for children is very, very necessary.
And this criterion will be evaluated by parents' feelings when they experience it in reality.
The fifth criterion is the teacher's attitude.
For me, this is an extremely important criterion
to decide whether to choose that environment or not.
If all the above criteria are OK,
such as a convenient location, a reasonable tuition fee,
a very clean and new school,
and the education method is also very good,
but I don't feel confident in the teacher,
then I will not choose that school.
Because teachers are the ones who directly take care of and interact with children every day.
Children are also in the process of developing language and personality awareness.
Therefore, when teachers are enthusiastic, we will feel a lot of peace.
This confidence will be shown by the way teachers advise parents about the school,
teachers introduce about the school,
about the curriculum,
about the teaching method,
about the class,
about the children,
and about the school's educational point of view.
If possible, parents should talk to teachers,
such as a tutor,
a teacher in class,
a principal,
a deputy principal,
or a school manager.
The more you talk to teachers,
the more you will understand the school's education,
as well as how teachers take care of children.
Besides, parents should also observe children in class.
If children love and care for teachers,
then they must have taken good care of the children.
Another issue that I think everyone should pay attention to
is how to communicate between parents and the school.
I see that some schools have large systems,
some schools use mobile apps,
that is, teachers update their children's information every day
through mobile apps,
and parents will also communicate through apps with teachers.
Some schools use Yalo as a means of communication between parents and the school.
Like the school of Pines,
teachers will create a Yalo group,
and there will be a teacher above to answer questions from parents,
or if parents have any problems,
teachers will respond very quickly.
These teachers are not teachers in class,
and teachers in class are not allowed to use mobile phones
because they have to take care of their children,
but they are the ones who help parents communicate with teachers in class.
So when I have any problems,
such as bringing food for Pinot,
or sending milk, food, or medicine when Pinot is sick,
they all message Yalo,
and teachers will relay the information very quickly.
Also, when I have a problem in class,
teachers will take pictures and send them to parents,
or on that day, did you cry?
Can you eat? How do you eat?
Teachers update the situation very quickly.
Personally, I think this fast communication
will make parents feel much more at ease at home.
The sixth criterion is outdoor activities outside of class time.
Can children go swimming?
If so, how many days a week?
Or is the school organized for children to go to the park?
Go to practical school in the park?
Or go sightseeing?
If so, how many times a month?
At that time, I thought that Pinot was still small,
how could he learn to swim?
But in fact, every week,
Pinot was taken to the swimming pool by the school
to learn to swim,
and he really liked to learn to swim.
So I think that such activities
are also a plus when people choose schools for children.
And now, some experiences when choosing my practical school.
First, it's about the location.
How can I know how many schools are in my area?
For example, in Saigon,
each district has a lot of schools.
The simplest way is that parents will call Google.
For example, if I want to find a school in District 3,
I will call Truong Mam Non District 3.
Here I see the website kiddy.vn
has a lot of information about Truong Mam Non in District 3.
Here is also the name of the school,
address and tuition fee.
Based on the criteria for the tuition fee location,
parents will choose a list of lists
from 5 to 7 schools that are suitable.
Then parents will continue to look for school information
in the lists just listed.
We will go to the website and Facebook of the school to see.
Then from there, choose 2 to 3 schools
that we feel most suitable to visit.
If there is more time,
parents can also visit more schools.
It depends on the parents.
In my case, when I go to school,
if the children are a little older and not afraid of crowded places,
parents can take the child along.
At that time, my son was 22 months old.
He has been told quite a lot.
So I decided to take him to school to visit.
At that time, parents will be observed
in which environment the child likes to go faster,
which environment the child likes to go faster,
and how the children interact with the new children.
At that time, parents will be able to feel
which school the child is suitable for.
At that time, my son already knew how to speak.
When I asked him at home,
he always said that he liked the color of the school
and was also suitable for the school I wanted to choose for him.
My third experience is that people can visit the school
from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
At this time, people will be able to observe
how the children are working in the classroom,
have time to talk to the teachers.
Then it will be lunch time
and people will be able to directly observe
how the children eat, how their meals are.
Usually, if I take the child with me,
the teachers will invite the children to join their meals.
And it's lunch time, so my son is invited to join the meal.
At that time, people will be able to observe
how the children eat, how their meals are.
It's quite interesting.
The fourth experience is that when you come to school,
apart from the counselor, parents remember to talk more
with the teachers in the classroom, the principal, the deputy principal,
or the school manager.
The more you understand the values of the school,
the educational views, as well as how you take care of the children.
The more you understand the values of the school,
the educational views, as well as how you take care of the children.
And my fifth experience is that when I talk to the teachers,
the parents can also ask the teachers
what they would do if the children cried in the classroom
or what they would do if the children hit their friends
or if the children were annoying,
In addition, if the parents have any questions,
such as when to eat or sleep,
or how to send milk or food to the children,
the parents can ask all the questions to the teachers.
The parents should record the questions in the phone
so that when they meet the teachers,
the parents can ask all their questions without missing any information.
Today's video is quite long.
I hope what I have just shared in this video is useful
and will help parents find a suitable school more quickly.
Of course, this is just the beginning.
There are still many difficulties in the future,
such as children going to school, crying, being sick,
sleeping crisis and so on.
There are so many problems that I will share in the next videos.
