The current location of Jerusalem in Israel has a history of more than 4,000 years.
It has a complex background of three religions, which are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
It is the origin of the conflict between the two religions, between the Jews and the Palestinians.
The conflict has been fought for a long time, and no one knows where it will end.
Abdul Taithub invites us to understand the six must-know things about Israel, the holy land, and the three religions.
1. Israel, one country, two nations
According to the Hebrew Bible, the Jews and the Palestinians are the descendants of Abraham,
the God-loving to the Lord, before being separated into the Jews and the Arabs.
Moses brought the Israelites from Egypt to set up a temple on the land of Canaan, or in the area of Israel today,
as the Lord had promised before being exiled by various nations in the future.
While the Arabs also set up a temple in the Middle East, with the word Palestine being a word that appeared since 1,200 BC.
Ancient Greek writers call the land in this area inhabited by the Arabs,
while the Jews and the Palestinians believe that Jerusalem is their holy land.
The important turning point occurred after World War I.
In 1917, when the Ottoman Empire, which had already occupied Palestine, collapsed,
Britain came to occupy the territory of Palestine and the Tarnsjordan area,
which spans the Mediterranean Sea to the west of the Jordan River.
During the Cold War, Britain also supported the Jews who settled in Europe to move to Palestine
to establish their original base on the faith of the Jews,
especially during the period when the Jews were massacred by the Nazis,
which made the Jews move to Palestine even more.
And in 1947, the United Nations agreed to separate Palestine from the Jews and the Arabs,
by making Jerusalem an international city before Israel established its own state as a country in the following year.
2. The conflict between the Jews and the Palestinians continues to develop.
The emergence of Israel in 1948, with the American West Bank backing it,
has displeased the Arabs who had previously settled in Palestine,
and resulted in a conflict between the five Arab states of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria,
which then supported the Palestinians who had to live in a restricted area and had to flee to live in neighboring countries.
And almost 20 years later, in 1967, there was a major conflict that took only 6 days to wage war.
Israel was able to conquer almost the entire territory,
including the part of Palestine that had been occupied,
so the Palestinians had to set up an organization to liberate Palestine
to fight for the return of the territory and rights in the land under the sovereignty of Israel.
And in the past 70 years, there have been attempts from the international community
to negotiate to find common ground, but to no avail,
because different parties have waged war, used weapons, and invaded the territory over and over again.
The people cannot live in peace.
The people have to move out of their homes,
and there has always been a conflict between the people.
Today, Israel has more than 8 million people,
and on 22,000 square kilometers of Israel,
there are mostly Jews living in the area,
while the Palestinians or Arabs are concentrated in two main areas,
1. Gaza, located to the west of the country,
adjacent to Egypt, ruled by the Hamas group,
and 2. West Bank, located to the east,
adjacent to Jordan, ruled by the Palestinian Authority, or PA.
In addition, there is also the Golan Heights,
a residential area in the north, which is adjacent to Syria.
3. Jerusalem, the center of the three religions.
The Jerusalem of Israel today
is the land of the Pentecost,
the spiritual center of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims,
who have been and are related to each other,
both in terms of people, nationalities, and land.
Especially the area of Jerusalem on the east,
which is adjacent to the West Bank of Palestine today,
is the seat of the Old City,
which is an important religious site
that both Israel and Palestine have fought for more than 100 years,
occupying almost 1 square kilometer of the Old City.
There is a sacred place for all three religions
located in the same area,
including the Wailing Wall,
the Golden Dome of Silas,
the Dome of the Rock,
and the Masjid al-Aqsa.
4. Wailing Wall, the most sacred thing of the Jews.
The Jews believe that Jerusalem is the first place
where the Lord God created the world and created man.
About 1,000 years before Christianity,
Solomon the Great built a large temple
to worship the Lord God on this land for the first time,
but it was invaded by the Babylonians
and the temple was destroyed.
Although there will be another temple built
for the second time,
it was also destroyed by the Romans.
Today, the Jews believe
that the tall wall to the west of the Temple Mount
in the Old City that we see today
was the old wall of Jerusalem in ancient times
where the Jews used to cry
because Jerusalem was destroyed.
The Jews therefore give the Wailing Wall
or Wailing Wall
as the highest sacred place
to come to pray
and always remember the Jewish people.
5. The Golden Dome of Sila, the heart of the Israelites
The Golden Dome of Sila or the Dome of the Rock
was built in the 7th century BC
to surround the sacred stone that the Jews worshiped.
The location of the same stone
is the point where the Muslims believe
that the religion of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad,
came before he appeared in heaven.
For Christians, the Golden Dome of Sila
and the Holy Mount
is the point where Jesus Christ,
the creator of religion,
was crucified on the Mount of Olives
and the end of the people before the birth of Islam.
It was also the place where the worship of the Lord God
of the Jews before the Arabs
would come to occupy this area.
6. Masjid al-Aqsa, the third most important
religious institution of the Muslims
The most important Masjid of the Muslims
is Masjid al-Haram
In Mecca, the birthplace of King Sassada
is Masjid al-Madinah,
which is located in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem
is the Masjid where Prophet Muhammad
received the five-hour prayer from Allah
to the Muslims
and was also the last place
that King Sassada prayed
before he appeared in heaven.
Jews and Palestinians
from all over the world
came to hold rituals
in the old city of Jerusalem
continuously
and were the source of conflict
between groups of different nationalities
with different religious beliefs.
Therefore, the past
is like a dustbin
waiting for the sun to rise
and ready to rise and fall
all the time.
I hope that this clip
will help you understand
the origin of the conflict
that occurred
between Jews and Palestinians
more and more
and be prepared for the severe events
that may occur at any time
and have a negative impact
on humanity in the future.
Anyway,
I would like to help
to bring down the violence
and one day true peace
and prosperity
will happen
on this sacred land.
