“Sprinkles” - TreeTop Cat Rescue.

I was hesitant to share this unorthodoxed #rescue that didn’t go exactly as planned, but it happens sometimes. #Sprinkles the #cat had spent 5 days in this #treetop and there were two failed attempts to get her down by two different local tree services. After hearing the heartache in Lisa’s voice I just had to make the 2 hour drive to try to bring this situation to a close. #catinatreerescue #animalrescue #getmeowtahere #insta360
Can you tell me a little bit about your cat and the situation we have here?
What's your cat's name?
Sprinkles.
Okay, and how long have you had Sprinkles?
About six and a half years.
How long has Sprinkles been in this tree?
Five days.
Has anyone tried to rescue Sprinkles?
Yes, we had two tree companies come out.
One with a bucket, and then she went up further,
and then because they used a chainsaw and it scared her further.
We had a climber come out, but the branch that he needed was not enough to hold his weight.
Okay, let's see if Sprinkles will cooperate with me, okay?
All right, Sprinkles.
Be happy to see me, baby.
Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty.
Don't run, baby.
Don't go higher.
Don't go, don't go higher, kitty.
She's going higher to the top.
Talk to her.
It's okay, don't go higher, kitty.
She's going to go to the top.
It's okay, kitty.
Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty.
Sprinkles, don't run from me.
She's going all the way up.
She's going all the way.
Kitty, kitty, kitty.
It's okay, kitty.
It's okay.
Kitty, kitty, kitty, it's okay.
It's okay, kitty.
Kitty, kitty, kitty.
You're okay, kitty.
She's climbing down now.
She's going to climb all the way down.
She's trying to get away from me.
I'll chase her down.
Keep going.
Sprinkles, it's okay, kitty.
Sprinkles, don't run.
Don't run, baby.
Go down, go down the tree.
Don't come up it.
Keep going down.
She's almost down.
She doesn't want me to come near her
so I'm chasing her down the tree.
She does not want me to get to her.
Don't go up.
That's right, go down.
Go down.
You got to go down.
You can't go up.
Keep going down, you got it, baby.
Climb on down, you got it.
You got it, go ahead.
She's going to make it.
Nice, she's good, she's safe.
Thank you, Duane.
I don't think she's injured.
She took off.
Look, she looked great taking off.
Okay, good.
And she wasn't very high at all when she jumped.
Was she like right there?
Yeah, yep.
She wasn't very far up there when she jumped.
Yeah, she's fine.
She's going to be okay.
You don't have to give me anything, bud.
I'm serious.
I'm going to tell you.
I'm going to tell you no.
I'll tell you no at least twice.
Can we ask why?
It's because I don't do this for the money.
If some people have to give, if you have to give,
that's fine, but I always say no.
We have to give.
Okay, well, I appreciate it.
I know you don't, I'm letting you know
you don't have to though.
Yeah.
Who lives in Columbus that just drops everything
they're doing to come up here to save a cat?
They don't even, it's crazy.
Well, here's the thing, man.
I love animals and my pets are my family.
And that animal's suffering, you're suffering.
And if I can help, I love to climb trees.
I'm good at it.
And if I can help reduce some suffering,
I'm going to do what I can to do that.
Are you going to put this video on your website?
Maybe, we'll see.
I don't know.
Can I take a picture of you?
If you want, yeah.
Sure.
I'm not going to put it on social media.
You can, if you want.
You can do whatever you want.
Cool, man.
Thanks, Dwayne.
You're welcome, guys.
Thank you so much.
On such short notice, man.
I feel like I'm going to cry actually.
I know, I'm still in shock.
Well, I'm glad to help.
And I know she's going to be okay, guys.
Oh, no doubt, my, my.
Lisa, come on.
It's going to be okay.
I'm so shocked.
It's going to be, she's going to be okay.
All right.
Thank you, my.
Yes, sir.
Wrinkles.
