Tree climbing cat rescue. This scaredy cat named Kat has spend a few days in this gnarly, topped cottonwood before I was called for help. The DMM captain made it nice.
How we doing man? My name is Dwayne. Niddy. Niddy? How you doing Niddy? I'm all right. All right.
Is this your cat? Yeah, it's her cat. Did you know I follow you? I did not realize that.
My mama was just looking up people that help or whatever. She found you. I said I follow him.
Huh, what's your name? My name is Monica. I like a bunch of your videos. All right Monica,
nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Thanks for following me on the webs. Yeah.
It's a pretty funky tree this cat's in. Yeah. It looks like it's been topped.
You see how it's like you got these fat limbs? Yeah. And then you just see the skinny limbs
shoot straight up out of it. That's where these limbs have been cut and then the skinny limbs
grew out of them and they're weak. They cut them off. All these big holes in this tree too.
A dog chased her. No. Why? An old man died like this. Story goes right here.
Standing right there. Somebody died standing right there.
So you think this this cat didn't know that person that did it?
I'm just telling you, be careful when you climb this tree. Don't be the second person.
I will be careful. Yeah, my safety is number one. I'm gonna be throwing some stuff here.
I see where I want to go. Yeah, this tree is fucked up, man. She's afraid to climb down.
A lot of times they can only go up. They can't go down.
Oh god, she killed that little branch. She killed me.
Well, I love climbing trees. I'm really into trees and climbing. Also, you know,
I love animals. I'll help anybody. If there's animals suffering, I'll help them out.
That should do it. I'm about to bounce on this limb. Make sure it doesn't break. Make sure it's
going to hold my weight, okay? Got you. That's a big limb. Probably like the oldest tree. Yeah,
that's a big tree. And she said she had the first house on the street. It was
like strawberries, dirt roads, that type of thing, outhouses. I love talking to her. I learned so
much. Who is she? That woman that was just over here? In the white robe. Yeah, that's cool. She's
been here a while, huh? Yeah, she was born in that house, yeah. Oh, wow. I'll try to not bust
up your gutter. Yeah, I'll try to kick around it. Hi, kitty. Hey, kitty, kitty, kitty. Hey, kitty.
Kitty, kitty, kitty. Hey, kitty. You sure are a pretty little tuxedo, aren't you? Kitty, kitty,
kitty. My rope bumped against her and scared her. She's kind of down in this hole, this cavity right
now. I'm just going to try to ease over to her. Oh, she's growling at me. It's okay, kitty. Don't
hiss at me. She's right at my feet and she's growling like non-stop. You're okay, kitty.
Do you want some food, baby? Hey, kitty. Would you like some of this? She's going down. Kitty,
kitty, kitty, kitty. Look. There you go, kitty. She's going in this hole in the tree.
Yeah, she just ran from me about three feet and she's looking to go into the tree.
She's afraid of me. Kitty, kitty, kitty. I'm going to try to just get close enough
she knows that I have the food. Hey, kitty. Don't go in there. Hey, cat. She's just growling into
that. She's going into the hole in the tree. Kitty, kitty, kitty. I bet she could go down
and come out down there. Yeah, there's a hole straight down about 10 feet.
Wow, she just went all the way in that hole. Yeah. Okay, I'm going to have to try something else.
She's so afraid of me. Hey, kitty. Don't run. Kitty, kitty, kitty. Hold on. Just be calm. Kitty,
kitty, kitty. Look. Look, kitty. Hey. Hey. Hey, kitty. Look, kitty. Okay, she's good.
Yeah, I'm trying to get her to know I'm not going to hurt her. I don't want to get bit.
Here, kitty. Come on. Hey, kitty. Good girl. Good cat. Come on. I'm about to bag her here in a second.
Yeah, I'm about to bag her up. Hey, kitty. Cat's in the bag. Oh, I'm going to ask you to do me a
favor so I don't bust this guy's gutters. Grab this rope right here and kind of just pull me
toward the tree. You want to just keep it kind of tight and pull that way so I don't. That's good.
Just keep me off of this gutter until I get past it. Then you can ease me out. Okay, you can ease
up on it now. Oh, don't get the cat. Oh, cool. Thank you, sir. Yeah. All right, I'm going to
give you this cat. No, you don't want her? Okay. She was afraid of me too. She was growling.
We got to get, we got to get her in the house. Okay.
I just realized what you said.
That was so sweet of you. Great one. I'm happy to help. We appreciate it.
Well, you did huge. She will never came down by herself. I doubt it. You know,
a lot of times they just get so scared. They're afraid to do anything. She's been up until
Christmas. She really likes this. You can squeeze the rest of it out for her. Oh, okay. Okay. Thank
you. You like that? Oh, yeah. I'm ready. Oh, my God. Thank you. I don't have cats for me.
I don't ever ask for anything. Don't you worry about it. I have to ask, but I would like to.
You should have seen us trying to climb up the ladder up that tree. Nope. I'll tell you what,
whatever, whatever you want to give to me, donate it to a charity.
Yeah. Animal shelter.
So you'll do that. Okay.
