Humans vs. AI - Which Should We Invest In

why does it seem like the world is spending so much money and resources on growing artificial intelligence when it's not spending that much growing human intelligence hey let's run the clips from Davos my biggest concern Investments on AI to make machines smarter there's no limit to the amount of money that's been pumped into it the investment and hi to make humans smarter human intelligence that's just sad it's sad that we're going to live in a world right around the corner where machines will be more articulate analytical critical thinking banter ability um contextual deep understanding while we have resorted to short tweets emojis memes and stickers to communicate but give us the the in the good way and give us in the bad way as you see it well it hasn't gotten bad as what social media has done to society and let's hope that Regulators policy makers get their stuff together so it doesn't end up that way we can't have it to where companies lead with greed because we're just going to have some version even worse what web .0 and social media did to society where our civil liberties are compromised democracy is compromised privacy compromised we shouldn't repeat that with this level of tech where we have dupe machines mimic machines but the technology on the on the other hand is spectacular it can help bridge the gap on who gets access to the best education it will help unearth tomorrow's Industries um because at the same time it will topple the industries that we know now yeah okay the the problem you have with artificial intelligence is that the general perception seems to be that the machines have now become much closer to what's referred to as super intelligent part of the reason for that is when people talk to these machines they get the feeling they're talking to an actual person the reality is that we're no closer to Super intelligence I would believe than we were 10 years ago um and now while AI the AI the generative AI is a big step forward in terms of what you can do with data and what you can do with sort of voice-based services it isn't what everyone is promising and what I'm what I'm worried about is that combined with the fact that you're going to get massive competition with all these different Services is going to cause it's also going to cause a lot of price competition which means that that that Revenue targets are going to be missed so what we're saying is to wrap it up what we're really saying is there is a big use case for artificial intelligence yes it's just not worth the valuations that people are ascribing to them because they think the prices are going to be much higher than they really are boom who would have thought that this was a highlight Andrew of the 2024 you've got will I IM from the black IPS singing where is the love only Ai No Ai and then he's arguing with Sam Alman he's disagreeing with Bill Gates in Davos yeah so I mean I guess you can argue about why is Will i Am you know having such a big stage when he's a music producer obviously I think he's a very smart and intelligent and educated guy and they've always made positive music so shout out to Black IPS because I will give him that positivity was always their thing and he did make that one uh high-tech covid mask yeah that's true too so so he's been on his kind of Kanye change the world invent some stuff but anyways regardless let's talk about what he said because his main point in this clip and I don't know the rest of his speech but he basically made the point it's like listen guys un we could put billions and billions of dollars into artificial intelligence but we're not putting B the same amount into human intelligence now what's happening now I have my own take on this I posted about it on funding to be intelligent than humans so that's what I work on for my Foundation I want to make it easier to raise money for hi for human intelligence yeah so I think there was just a lot of opinions in the comment section now I think David would you agree that most people understand what he's talking about though whether whether or not you agree whether or not you're Pro AI or not but you kind of get what he's saying yeah because I think that all the trends both from a search engine optimization and obviously a capital deployment and investment perspective all the patterns for 2024 are trending heavy heavy heavy towards AI now here's my thing guys my this is my quick take is that I actually feel for while I am and I understand what he saying because I wish more and more people humans young and old would make the choice to be more educated and be more intelligent however we've given people Freedom we've given them social media Godlike technology in the palm of their hands all the information available some information is not real and it's fake but a lot of real information out there and people are choosing not to go for the real information it's People's Choice that's my take so humans are not are choosing not to be more intelligent now with that said we don't pay people who educate and make people smarter enough like teachers and Educators we don't pay them enough but the thing is AI technology David it makes money and that's why people will invest in things that make money I think that will IM obviously is placing like humans hi and AI on opposing spectrums but you could argue they're existing on two different geometric planes that don't really intersect obviously Bill Gates is talking about uh White Collar productivity so he's thinking about Microsoft and software and apps I do think will am is thinking about you know I do think he's thinking about the inner cities and things like that well I I think like the underclass you know people who come from broken families who are not put in great positions to be educated who are not in a culture of wanting to be educated um I don't think that the future is obviously spoken for I think the future of AI is a little bit like the next five years of the economy some people are on this side some people are on that side and there's really smart people saying completely opposite things because anytime something is made up of like 100,000 shifting factors nobody can really get a few full good read on it because if you look at all the futurists Andrew from back in the 1960s and the 70s they predicted some stuff that hasn't existed yet but they also didn't predict things like social media like they had no conception of that in like uh Isaac azimov and all these futurist novels listen listen if you predict a bunch of stuff some of it's going to be true yeah some of it's just going to be true right um some people are thinking about how to fight the robots other people are thinking about how to another f word with the robots I'm just saying everybody got a different angle oh f with the robots F the robot all right so I I got a quote from stepen Hawking anderw he's now cons uh cancelled but you know let's just read his quote as if we don't got to talk about that side the development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race it would take off on its own and redesign itself at an ever increasing rate humans who are limited by slow biological evolution couldn't compete and would be super ceeded this is a quote from Steven Hawkins but of course there's also a new Optimist starter pack where it's like dude AI is just going to help the world so anyway let's just get into the comments section somebody said man you know what will I am makes a good point but that's because just like we say in Jamaica everybody want push button everybody want a convenient life everybody want an easy life and we will just reduce ourselves to the re remedial because of our complacent mindset as humans yep yep yep I do believe most people are going to go for the life of least resistance and that means using AI to just have a easier life technically a lazier life are you talking about essentially Pixar's Wall-E when the humans are all fat as hell sitting on those hover chairs yeah you know what the the thing that's saving Humanity right now is this health wave of being like you know your body is the ultimate computer your body is the Ultimate machine no AI can beat out a healthy hum yeah yeah like hacking your body like it's a computer is the thing saving Humanity right now man so that's why everybody still wants to be fit because they still want to play sports they still feel healthy it is true you probably think better when you're more fit you know all these things but yeah ultimately just have ai do everything for you right you're saying would that be such a bad future no I'm not I don't think it's a great future I actually don't I'm not necessarily Pro all that either but I guess what I'm saying is that uh at least people still want to be healthy and as long as you're a healthy body you're going to be able to do a lot of things but but it is true like is AI going to teach your kid from first grade to sixth grade better than a teacher what's going to happen when these kids are are raised by computers I think it's going to depend on like just the the majority and obviously there's going to be a variance like human civilization's desire to keep pushing once the robots are able to do everything for you no there's going to be a robot not that far from now that's going to be able to speak like a really empathetic warm teacher and is going to be able to teach your kid somebody says why does it matter that will I am is at Davos his job is to make horrible pop music for major record labels and he hasn't had a good hit in 20 years he knows nothing about business finance economics or AI this guy can't even write one line of code but he can speak on the future of AI yeah golly everybody just listens to celebrities well hey he has a perspective yeah somebody said what he said was a golden quote it was a bar but I'll take it for granted his lyrics may be basic but this was a profound thing to say that's really funny to criticize I mean I don't think he came up with this idea I think that there's a lot of smart people who understand this because at the end of the day uh the world is still full of human beings and you can't just disregard the human beings who are not uh like at the top right now you have to think about everybody no no the black IPS and have been humanistic for a really long time they're very uh very kind of hippie that's the joint that's the jam somebody said uh can machines do critical thinking AI intelligence will never go beyond human intelligence and there was a bunch of arguing over here Andrew what do you think is is AI just here to help humans become smarter or is it going to supplant humans and then be like the humans are stupid we have been trained to rank life forms and we have surpass them finally I don't know if they surpass us I think they just keep us as pets and then let us live Our Lives um somebody was just saying you know what is you are you just suggesting that random kids go to college instead of investing in Tech um somebody said capitalism doesn't care about your feelings guys it's not just capitalism man it's just War too man people want to have the best AI to like defeat the enemies or whatever enemy that is you know you talking about the Jaggers or the Gundams or whatever or I'm in like other countries too literally Other Nation like China That's why right I mean that's why also why people want really good AI somebody said nothing is coming everybody should just chill out other people are arguing with this guy people trust Tech too much people trying to computerize everything and other side other B just said no no at the end of the day we control the computers the computers don't control us I think so here's my overall takeaway like right cuz the arguments go on forever right instead of trying to slow down AI I do think people have to take in consideration like there's a lot of humans who need help and a lot of human capital who is that is untapped now the issue is a lot of humans don't want to learn because the world is getting good enough or they can live a good enough Life by not being smart or not staying educated or not using social media which is a tool in the right way you know what I mean social media is a tool that is also dangerous it's like holding it's like to me being a police officer or protecting your family with uh a 9M met Glock it's a great tool that is could save your life one of the best tools but if Ed them properly it's going to be very bad for you too yeah I guess you know there's always going to be pitfalls with anything you know once the world Andrew became uh like normalized with the automobile there are so many like drunk driving or bad driving deaths as a result of that right how many people got ran over by a horse and buggy was there drunk driving with a horse and buggy there probably was a little bit no but you'd probably say the drunk driving r were super low in a horse and buggy right no for sure for sure cuz the horse cuz there wasn't that much alcohol and there wasn't that many horse and Buggies on the road yeah I mean so I think there's pros and cons of everything and it really just depends on like what humans attitude towards it is you know I think if people embrace the technology they become more intertwined with the technology they can like have a bigger say in guiding it to prevent the pitfalls happen the key is that people have to want to use the technology to get better yeah they not just to get an easier life but you have to want to use the technology to get better to be better that's how it's going to remain humans in control I do feel torn though because Andrew we do work with some gen Z people sometimes and I've noticed that people purposely misspell things because that they know that the spell check or Google is going to catch the spelling mistake so people do not care about how anything is spelled anymore I guess I don't know guys list much people care man it's about how much people care everything's a tool man it can go upside it can go downside like you said it's just like a uh a bomb or something like that or a car or that tank I don't know yeah car is an amazing tool gets you from A to B also can be very
