Check out all this snow. This is record December in over 50 years. Over 16 feet of snow. It's easy
to say, hey, we got 16 feet of snow. I'm trying to give you a visual. Look how high the snow
beams are. All this snow, where to put it? It's going to make for an amazing winter of skiing
with deep powder, but it definitely makes it more difficult to camp because it's really hard to find
anywhere to pull off and camp. Everything's blocked off. There's just walls of ice and snow.
It's just truly amazing though. I haven't seen this much snow in a really long time. It's above
the light post. I just need a snow plow in the front of my camper and that way I can go anywhere.
Well, I think I got everything on. I'm ready for another great day of snowboarding.
You should see the mess I'm leaving behind. Everyone always comments about how clean my
camper is, but you don't know my little secret and that's that I keep all of my junk in the
cab of the truck usually. You open the door and all these toys fall out. There's fishing
poles sticking out, paddle boards, metal detectors, but that's okay. That's another
story for another day. Right now, let's get out there. Winter is here and there's something about
flying through the trees, the raw elements, the mountains beside you. No concerns about yesterday
or tomorrow. No sense of time or self and when the elements align and you achieve a certain speed
and the snow's just the right depth, you attain a weightlessness. Nothing's going through your head,
just pure immersion in the moment. A temporal experience that you can't understand without
feeling. Time stops. Your senses are heightened beside your fingertips. Flow state.
That was definitely one of the deepest days of snowboarding I've had in a really long time.
This past week has been absolutely crazy. First, all that snow came down, then the ski resort
closed, and then the highways closed, and then the power went out for multiple days.
I've never hung out in an abandoned ski resort before. The storm was so bad. There's no power.
It's just been nuts, and on top of all that, I'm having some issues with the power system in my
camper. The inverter is just giving me problems, so that's kind of been an issue, but I can figure
that out later. I'm still so stoked on the snowboarding. I am, however, really hungry,
so let's just go ahead and make some food and just chill out for a second. We're going to do
so with the help of today's sponsor, Jackery. Thanks to Jackery for sponsoring this video.
Since my inverter isn't working, I'm going to be using the Jackery 1500 to power
my Instapods. I've been using it the past couple months in my van, on my boat, and my truck camper.
It's incredibly portable and easy to use when you need to charge or power something, especially when
there's a disaster or emergency situation, such as a blizzard. The 1500 comes in Jackery's solar
generator 1500 package that also includes four 100-watt solar panels that you can use to charge
the solar generator. They have a nice handle and a stand on the back of each one that allows you to
set them up basically anywhere you need to. By using the panels, you can use them to charge the
generator with the sun, or if you don't want to use the sun, you can also charge the 1500 by
plugging it into a wall socket or with your car when you're driving down the road. The system uses
a lithium-ion battery and it has a built-in inverter. It's quiet, it's safe to use indoors,
and it's easy to move around. It has 1800 watts of running power and 3600 watts of surge power,
and there's multiple ports on the front. USB-C, USB-A, and three AC outlets, so you can charge
multiple electronics all at once. Jackery's having a sale on their solar generator 1000 and 1500
systems right now, so if you're interested, make sure you check out the link in my description
and go to jackery.com. Let's go ahead and start dinner. What are we making tonight? We're making
chicken tortilla soup in my three-quart Instapot. It's really easy to make, you just use
one Instapot, you throw it all in, and it's done in like 30 minutes. It stores well, it's hearty,
it's warm, you can make it as spicy as you want, as mild as you want, you can make it vegetarian,
you can change the protein, you can add all the toppings that you like. Versatile, fun,
and delicious. If I could, I would eat avocado with like everything, I'm pretty sure.
Topping's sometimes the best part. I don't know how you could disagree with that. Chicken,
black beans, celery, tomato sauce, secret ingredient, and the spices. Pressure cook,
and then it's just gonna start heating up. It's doing its thing. You can just shred the chicken.
Now it's time for my favorite part. Purple onion,
squeeze lime, I'd actually add a couple of these on top too. Can't wait to dig in, looks delicious.
Okay, I'm laying in bed, time to go to sleep. I will see you tomorrow morning,
see what adventures we can get into. Good night! You won't believe what happened the next day.
I walked down to the lake and found a ninja. I'm not sure what he was doing, but I should point out
that these rocks are covered in snow, so he was quite talented and very brave. It was really quite
amazing to watch. I wanted to try it myself. Yeah, no. The storm had passed, it was a beautiful
evening, and a wonderful reminder that each sunset brings a new day.
