WE STAYED IN THE GOSSIP GIRL HOTEL IN NEW YORK! Mum & Sisters trip to New York!

I turn back down to earth having learned What love is worth, will I burn or burst? I must have been dreaming Still I'm beaming Smiling from ear to ear If I was dreaming Then why is she still here? If I'm dreaming Then why is she still here? Honestly guys, our room is... It took our breath away a little bit. I'm going to show you. So here is our fabulous room at the Lotte New York Palace. It is absolutely huge. This is by far the biggest room I've ever had whilst staying in New York. And guys, look at the view. I'm actually speechless. We're on the 52nd floor. And it's absolutely magnificent. We were just telling Coco, me and my mum, that every time we've come to New York we've never actually stayed in a hotel room where we've had daylight because obviously it's so built up that not a lot of actual daylight comes through the windows unless you're super duper high up. So this is just spectacular. And what a beautiful day for our first day in New York. So not five minutes have gone by since that last clip. And look at the chaos of this room. It's chaos. My mum is definitely the most chaotic. And we're just choosing some outfits because I actually have plans for us this evening which they don't know about. It's a little surprise. Oh, and I wanted to show you guys also because I did a little bit of airport damage which is quite unlike me. But I could not resist these sunglasses. And I have actually been really wanting a pair like this. So they're Bulgari. And they are so pretty. Even my mum and Coco were like, yeah, you need to get those. Look how pretty they are. Look at the little gold flower on the side. So gorgeous and classic. So I'll be wearing these tomorrow. This is literally the most amazing view. Look at the cabs. They're like little toy cars. Someone's a bit whacked out from the journey. If only I could sleep. If only everybody wasn't munching crisps and listening to ABBA. Also waiting for us in the hotel with these Spotted Gossip Girl postcards with some of the famous locations from the hotel. So I definitely want to go and visit them. This is the Spotted on the Grand Staircase. The Gold Room which is, I think this is the, is this the Shepard Wedding Room? Or is this the room where Serena has a martini in the pilot episode? Obviously the Courtyard which is probably I'd say the most recognisable one. Which is currently under scaffolding at the moment. Which is a great, great shame. But we should still be able to see some of it. And then what's this one? Spotted in the Madison Room. And of course some macarons. Blair Classic. Had to have these in New York in a Gossip Girl hotel. That was such a lovely welcome. So guys I'm just getting dressed for the evening. I'm wearing my Zimmermann High Priestess flowers which I always get made fun of for wearing by my family. But I love it so that's all that matters. And I'm so, so excited because I have some beautiful new pieces of Monica Vinader jewellery to wear. I'm sure you guys all know about the brand. But if you don't, Monica Vinader is such a beautiful and sustainable jewellery brand. All of their pieces are made from 100% recycled sterling silver and 18 carat gold for May. So the first piece I have to show you are these absolutely stunning little gold diamond hoops. They are so beautiful. They're literally like my perfect earring because I love wearing a little hoop but I only like it to be dainty and like really delicate and these could not be more dainty. And they're so sparkly and they're just like perfect for everyday but then they also work really well in the evening because they really sparkle. I've also stacked up a few of the absolutely beautiful 18 carat gold for May bracelets. I'll show you a close up in a sec but on this wrist I first of all have the classic little snake chain bracelet. This is just so good for layering like I love the way it looks when you have a couple of bracelets on each wrist and this one is just perfect. It's just such a staple. You barely even ever have to take it off you can just wear it all the time. And I've also got this absolutely stunning bracelet which is from the new collection and it's this gold chain with this beautiful like little baroque pearl hanging off and I just think it's stunning. I love gold and pearls. It's just like my favourite jewellery combo. And then on this wrist I have another really beautiful dainty little chain. This is the beaded chain and also this really fabulous gold bangle with a little diamond at the top. So I really just love the bracelet. I think it goes so well with the neutral tones of my wardrobe as well. Okay so now I have a few necklaces to choose from and I cannot actually choose. They're all so beautiful. The first is this which is on the most delicate, shiny chain I think I've ever seen. It's so so pretty and the pearl is just the most like organic, fresh, authentic looking baroque pearl. It's so misshapen which I absolutely love. I think most of the time we imagine pearls as just these beautifully perfectly round spheres but this is actually like nicer I think. It looks like it came straight from the oyster itself and I think this is such a head turner. So so beautiful. Next is not a pearl one but it's the 18 carat gold for May and it's this really gorgeous locket on a slightly more chunky cool chain which I actually think would go really well with this look because it would kind of tone down the whole like high priestessness of this outfit and kind of make it look a little bit more edgy. But I really really love this and you can actually open the locket as well. This is the open locket so you can put a photo in there or a lock of hair or whatever you desire. And then my third choice of necklace which I think might be my favourite is this pearl. This is more of like a perfectly formed pearl and the chain is slightly chunkier than the other one and it's kind of like a really nice middle ground between the two necklaces. So I think this is probably my favourite. I feel like this is the necklace I would definitely get the most wear out of like on a daily basis. Can you guys see how pretty that is? It's just so classic and easy to wear. It would just go with everything. Although I am actually really really drawn to this necklace just with this outfit. I feel like it needs a little bit of edge that this necklace gives, you know? Okay I really really love how this necklace looks with this outfit. So this is the winner but I'm definitely going to wear the rest of the necklaces for the rest of the trip and I have a feeling that Coco and my mum will want to steal them as well. It's so beautiful. So here are our outfits for the evening. We're kind of dressed up all in a little lovely coat. Coco is going for like 70s vibes right? I'm going for I guess 60s in my centini. What am I going for? Um I don't know what are you going for? Coco! I do know what she means but like in a really chic way. Like in a really chic You know you give us like a luxury. You're giving us Helena Bonham Carter. Yeah Helena Bonham Carter vibes. Oh right. Oh well that's great. Three very different looks as you can see. This lift just reminds me of the Hollywood Tower. Tower of Terror. Here we are at Moulin Rouge which is our show for tonight. I'm so so excited. Good morning guys. It's our second day in New York. It's a beautiful sunny day although it is a little bit chilly. I didn't actually really pack for the cold but we're just going with it. We have just had breakfast in the hotel and we are heading onto Fifth Avenue and we're going to walk up to Central Park. We thought that we're going to make the most of the sunshine today and go to the park. We might even pop into the New York Zoo to see Alex the lion at my mum's request. I've also got my new sunglasses today which I'm super happy about. They are literally perfect. So yeah it should be a really amazing day. I'm wearing my coach bag today. My coach pillow Madison and my Tory Burch boots. I'm definitely in New York mode. We also thought we would just pop into St Patrick's Cathedral because it's literally right on our doorstep and it's such a magnificent cathedral. So we thought we'd have a little look in as my mum loves churches. Can you not? That man. You'll be enchanted by those big doughy eyes so inviting they'll leave you stranded and tied till you're high and dry no use fighting ain't it exciting We have just had a lovely stroll around Central Park and we're just about to get on a little rowing boat which I'm so excited for because I've been to Central Park a few times now but we've never been on the lake Thank you You're quite good at this actually Are you an experienced rower? They are still as a statue but that one's blinking Oh careful Love comes along without warning you're bound for a crash wait for the crash you can't escape from it's clutch and all it can take is a touch love comes along for the weak and the strong you can't hide We are back that was a very very lovely day we had very successful shopping actually which we didn't expect, also I just wore the same jewellery today that I wore yesterday, the Monica Veneda necklace, the earrings and all of the bracelets and it's all just gone so nicely with this outfit also I didn't show you guys my outfit of the day, I wasn't really sure when I put it on but throughout the day I've just grown to love this outfit and I'm definitely going to wear this when I get home I'm wearing my old Topshop dress, the faux leather one which I literally never wear with the caramellon sleepers trench over the top my cream Tory Burch boots and my new coach bag, so I wasn't really planning on shopping this trip but obviously I couldn't resist this absolutely stunning playsuit from Free People, it's so weird because I never shop in Free People but it's my mum's favourite shop and when we were here last time she wanted to go in Free People and I got one of my favourite dresses ever and then today I found this and I was like I can't not buy this, it's the most me thing ever so I'm so glad I found it and then I also got this beautiful satin bow hair tie but look at the end it's got little pearls dangling from it and then I actually also got a couple of things from Hollister as well I got this really gorgeous little crochet crop top it has a little kind of halter neck and the reason I got this is because I have one from Hollister and I wear it all the time but it always kind of bugs me that it's not crop so then when I saw this I was like oh my gosh I have to have that because I will literally wear it all the time and then I also got this really pretty champagne satin bralette because it just feels so amazing, this is from Gilly Hicks and I just thought that would be so nice to wear around the house in summer with some bottoms, some lounge bottoms, so yeah I got some really lovely bits today, I'm so pleased. So the plan now is just to relax in the room for a while because we are so tired there's always so much walking in New York and then tonight we have again really exciting plans, oh my god by the way Moulin Rouge it was just, I just don't have the words, I think the whole time our jaws like under our masks were just dropped, it was so amazing and it was actually Aaron Tveit, I don't know I think that's how you pronounce his surname, he was playing Christian and he was just stunning and so was Satine and actually the whole cast, it was just amazing, we had the best time didn't we, especially as we were so tired when it started it was the equivalent of midnight at home and then it would have finished around 3am after we've been up since 5, so for us to actually be awake and like this, it was just amazing, definitely a must see and then tonight we actually have tickets, there's a very special intimate magic show right here in the Palace Hotel it's a magician called Steve Cohen and it's called Chamber Magic and apparently it's very much like stepping back in time, it's that old, kind of like the Magic Castle in LA I think it's those kinds of vibes so we are so looking forward to that Is that Coco or Freddie in the Santini coat and the headband that I constantly get mocked for I know, I do feel kind of bad it's like constantly mocked for she's wearing the Santini coat one of my favourites Freddie's old dress and my mum's boots none of this is mine she's going rock and roll with the boots continue Good morning everyone it's our third day in New York I'm kind of doing a low angle so you guys can see the spectacular hotel staircase last night was absolutely magical, there is literally no better word to describe it, Steve Cohen's show is just, it's like nothing I've ever seen before we just could not believe the amazing magic he was doing and I just can't describe it I can just say that if you are in town over the weekend because that's when Steve does the shows, you have to book in, it is so worth it and it will be probably one of the best things you've ever done, honestly it was wonderful and he actually invited us to stay after the show for a private meet and greet which was really amazing and he gave Coco a lucky coin and it actually made her cry she'll be so mad that I told you guys that but it was just so special we just went to bed feeling like we were not even on earth it was wonderful so unfortunately today we have not been as lucky with the weather it's pouring down with rain outside so our plan is to do as much inside as possible we are going to go for brunch at Ellen Stardust Diner which I feel like is just a rite of passage if you come to New York, especially if you love theatre and Broadway and musicals and even though me and my mum have been twice, Coco's never been so we feel like it's a must and then we have tickets to the Chicago Matinee we are so excited, as a family Chicago is one of our favourite musicals and we've seen it a million times in London my mum first took me to see Chicago I think when I was 7 probably a little bit inappropriate but it is a Broadway show, that's where it originated I think it's been in the same theatre for 25 years it's a Broadway classic so we felt like we had to see our favourite musical on Broadway and that will keep us out of the rain for the day as well and then I think the plan is to come back to the hotel make use of the steam room, the sauna because it's super duper cold outside and then we also have a reservation for Serendipity tonight which is very exciting because I've actually never been to Serendipity and everyone always tells me I have to go and I've always wanted to we've never quite made it work so that's the plan for today I thought before we head out, I would actually give you guys a little tour of the hotel and show you some of the gorgeous locations some you might recognise from Gossip Girl and some that are just pretty like this amazing staircase so here is the Grand Foyer with this fabulous staircase it's so gorgeous have a look at the ceiling it's so so grand and once you've come up the staircase this is usually the main entrance to the hotel it's currently closed off because they are scaffolding the front of the building to preserve the brownstone because it's all original but I am allowed to go out and show you guys I got so excited when I saw this because for me this is such a recognisable and iconic location for Gossip Girl oh my gosh for me it's these gates that are so so iconic I don't know what it is about these gates and these pillars these columns sorry it's just so recognisable so yes if you are a Gossip Girl fan then this is definitely the place to stay in New York and then once you come up the staircase on this side you have the I think it's a bar called Rarities which is closed right now and we can't actually go in because Coco is under 21 and they are quite strict here but I would definitely love to go another time and then you come up here and it just gets more and more stunning so here we have the Gold Room in the hotel which is just so spectacular it really is stunning this is basically the hotel bar and restaurant so this is where you can come for breakfast but do you guys recognise the bar this is where Serena sat and had many a gin martini and I'm sure there's like several scenes in this room it's so beautiful and so iconic I'm so excited right now and over there is the kitchen where Chuck made the truffle sandwich cheese and truffle sandwich that's the kitchen where it all took place so I'm definitely not supposed to be in here although the door was open but this is the ballroom it's so grand imagine having a wedding reception in here or a party oh my gosh it's so gorgeous look at the chandeliers so this is the brunch room the famous Sunday brunch room which is absolutely stunning oh my god I can't believe this is the brunch room that's so exciting I love that episode as well oh my god look at this place it's incredible the heavenly father has chosen you and me which is mostly me good morning guys we have another absolutely wrapped up day in my Santini coat in town where we're hoping to catch a ferry to go and see the statue of liberty which is something that I have never done in all of my life I can see all of my dreams so perfectly love's not a dream at all somebody better come quick and rescue me Thank you. I saw our wishes on the card. So just one card between the three of us? Oh, okay. Hahaha. Thank you. Suddenly, I spot her walking right towards me. Could it be the chance? Casually. So suddenly, I'm asking her for a dance. Suddenly, she could be the one who cares for me. A chance. She's the special kind that you really see. Possibly, this could be a final romance. I see just what your love is meant to be. Suddenly. Hey, guys. Oh, my gosh. It feels like it has been such a long day today. I'm so tired. My camera actually ran out of battery about three quarters way through the day. But we had a really lovely morning visiting the Statue of Liberty on the ferry. It was really, really fun. And then on the way back, we kind of went through Soho and Greenwich Village, which was really nice. And I actually left my mom and Coco to explore more because Coco obviously hasn't been before. I've been before, and especially around, like, the kind of Greenwich area, Washington Square, it's not really my vibe, whereas it's more like my mom's vibe. And I think Coco will really like it, too. So I've actually come back to the hotel just to relax for a bit, get some work done. And there's still even more fun to be had. On the way back from the hotel, my mom and Coco will hopefully be able to pick us up some last-minute theater tickets because you just cannot keep us away from the theater, clearly. And we also have a dinner reservation. Although we might cancel because we did have a late lunch, we just picked up a really nice bagel in Soho, which was delicious, but it was really filling, and it was kind of late. So we may cancel our reservation depending on how hungry we are in, like, an hour's time. But yeah, another gorgeous day in New York, and stay tuned to find out which show we go and see tonight. Fingers crossed. Oh, and look at our little bear. Me and Coco got given Lossie New York Palace teddy bears last night, and it's so cute. Well, we just had a very nice dinner at Carmine's, Italian. And we're just heading now to watch a play called The Perfect Crime. The Perfect Crime. Our mom is meeting us there. And The Perfect Crime is Broadway's longest-running play or show. 34 years. It's been running for 34 years, so it ought to be very good. We'll keep you posted. We don't normally do plays. We are very much musicals, aren't we? Lionel's below your mind. Did you like it? It was really good. I really liked it. It was really good. My mom didn't get what was going on. Not towards the end, to be honest. Don't wake me up now. Let me linger and meet her somehow. It's across the room like a bride without a groom. If I tried, would she assume I'd been drinking? Too much thinking won't do me no good. The bells are ringing, telling me that I should. Oh my gosh, guys. We have just had the most amazing spa treatments at the Guerlain Spa at the Plaza. It was just such a needed hour and a half of relaxation and just tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of New York and the exhaustion that we feel from the last few days. I had an incredible hot stone massage. Coco had a facial. Was that your first ever facial, Coco? No, my second. Second? Was that the best? Yeah. We're feeling so relaxed. Honestly, we don't really want to leave. We just want to stay in the spa. I think we're going to head to the steam room area for a little bit just to continue the experience. That really was so, so gorgeous. You don't have to be staying at the Plaza to book into the spa. We obviously just love the Plaza Hotel. We stayed here before with Victoria's Secret. It was really nice to come back and see the Guerlain Spa. The spa is so pretty. As you guys know, Guerlain is one of my favorite brands. They have all of these vintage Guerlain posters and advertisements on the walls. It's just been so lovely. I think this was the perfect thing to do on our last day to get us nice and relaxed, ready for our flight home. And just like that, guys, our wonderful trip to New York is over. We are headed back to the airport now. We're so, so sad. We had one final lovely lunch in PJ Clark's, which is a really great restaurant that has lots of history. We've just had an amazing time.
