Emmolo Methode Sparkling wine review by Tony Del Sol. #wine #review #sparklingwine
Welcome back to Relax It's Just Wine. I'm Tony Del Sol, and I know it's been a while
since I've done a longer video. Guys, I've been really, really busy at work at the restaurant.
As you guys know, it's the holiday season. And by the way, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
to everyone out there. And for those of you who don't celebrate Christmas and just want the
presents, that's okay, too. So here we have a sparkling wine that I'm in love with, and it is
so freaking good. I brought it up to the wine list, and people are loving this like crazy.
This is the MLO Methode Sparkling Wine by Jenny Wagner from the Camus family. Jenny is the daughter
of the famous Jack Wagner of the Camus family of wines and all those beautiful wines that you guys
know. And I just love that she's doing this because it's so good. And if you told me this was
a champagne from France, I would totally believe you. This is coming at 12.2% alcohol for around
$40. And I've seen it for as low as $35. So just look around, guys, on the website,
and you'll find some of this. So let's give this an open. And what I love is that she has
a lip party here with the foil that is just perfect. You just rip right open. No need to
break out the corkscrew, wine screw, whatever. Just look at that. Look how easy that was.
Love that. And for those of you who don't know, so these little things here that go on top,
guess what? It's always going to be six twists, always. So if you want to make a bet with
somebody, just tell them how much you want to bet. Watch. One, two, three, four, five, six.
The cool thing is there's only one guy, or not guy, but company in the world that make these.
Isn't that cool? Then you just twist, and you want to go slow, and just give a little kiss.
Just like that. That was perfect. You guys would have loved it if that thing just popped and
exploded everywhere, right? Now, that happens because that means the sparkling wine or champagne
was not stored properly and wasn't cold enough. So that's why you get that. And it's kind of
annoying and very, very embarrassing if you do that at the restaurant. Now, the big debate is,
do you use a wine glass or a flute? My personal opinion, white wine glass. It's a little big
because I broke the other ones. What do you expect? So these, I don't like anymore. And
most salms and wine directors out there aren't using these anymore. I hate them. We have them
because customers ask for them. And I get it because it's showy, and you want to see the
bubbles and all that garbage. But you want it in a wine glass, guys, so it opens up and you
can smell it. Because you can't really get in there and smell this with a flute. But just get
this out of here. You know what? See you. All right. Let's go ahead and pour. So if you guys
haven't noticed yet, I live in LA, California. And you guys get really jealous when I say that
it was 82 degrees today on Christmas. Isn't that fantastic? Yeah, it's expensive to live here,
and it sucks sometimes. But you know what? 82 degrees, can you beat that? Where everyone else,
freezing. Some of you don't even have electricity, which sucks. So anyways,
it's a little rant there. All right. Look at that. So pretty. All right. So the mixture on this
is 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir. And she's sourcing this from Monterey, California,
Santa Barbara, California. And the other part is Sonoma. All right. So right off that nose,
pears. Love pears. Green apple. Actually, just apples in general. Love that. And like a lemon
zest honey. Damn. She does such a good job with this. There's no vintage on this, guys. You know,
it's just she makes it every year, pretty much. And if you, like I said, if you could find it,
you got to grab it. So frickin' lovely. Smooth. Lingers on your tongue. The bubbles are there.
Damn it. She's such a good job with this. Wow. Now, a quick little side note. Also,
people always ask me, why do they call it Sparkling Wine? Why can't they call it Champagne?
Well, the French many, many, many years ago said, Nope. If it wasn't made in Champagne, France,
you can't call it Champagne. Okay, fine. So that's why you got your Cavas, your Proseccos,
and Sparkling Wines out there. To me, if it's got bubbles, it's Champagne. Okay? Let's just
make it simple. That's what I try to do with this show. Make it simple. If it's got sparkles,
I mean, sparkles. If it's got bubbles, Champagne. Okay? I mean, to be technical,
obviously in the biz, you don't call it that. We call it Sparkling Wine. Whatever.
I highly recommend this one. This would go definitely good with any salad. And by the way,
when in doubt, when you're trying to look at something in the wine list to figure out to
pair with your food, when in doubt, go bubbles. Always go bubbles. You'll never go wrong. And
trust me, it goes with steaks, chicken, pasta, my goodness, even soups. And I'm not kidding.
I've actually paired this with a soup before, a minestrone soup, and it was delicious. Put some
crusty bread. Come on. All right, guys, I'm back. I'll be doing some more videos.
Remember to like and subscribe. And remember, relax. It's just wine. Salud.
