Hello everyone, my name is Evelin Mihailov and I'm a big fan of history, adventures, dynamics, action. Since I was a kid, because when I was a kid there wasn't as much cinema as there is now, and then we read more books. Here, for example, this is a book, The Daughters of Kaloyan by Fanny Popova-Mutafova. It's a beautiful book. And what's in the books? There's a lot of magic in the books. There's a story for different kingdoms, for different eras, for different people, for brave heroes. When a person reads a book, then he moves to a different time, to a different world. One that we all dream about. However, there's a problem with the books that are about Bulgarian history, the books that are about our history, our past. Here, look, this is a book that's only in letters. And when a person doesn't have a very developed imagination, what happens is that he can't imagine the pictures, he can't imagine where the secret battle took place, how the kings lived, how they were dressed, what their palaces were like, and we start to see from the TV only what they show us abroad. At some point, we create a complex for understanding. We're the little ones, but there's only us in the books, which are not even illustrated. Do you see somewhere in the West, where people lived in a different way? And if we ask a Bulgarian child, he'll talk more about knights than about young people. What did we decide to do with the historical park? We decided to show the history in pictures. Why? Because our history has existed for thousands of years. It's very important to know, maybe tens of thousands of years, which is not small, even a lot. For these 10,000 years, it's very difficult to preserve a given monument in the form it was in. When a person starts to be interested in history, architecture, art, beauty, he can't get to these early forms, which, by the way, are much better in many cases than the later ones. He can't get to them, because there's nothing left for him to lose, and that's where his interest stops. That's where our self-esteem stops, too. When we realized this, we decided to change it. How? Exactly by recreating, thanks to the whole team, artists, renovators, historians, archaeologists, people who can dig up, piece by piece, like a puzzle. I guess many of you like puzzles. But this puzzle shows us our brilliant past and shows us the truth about who we are. So that we are not the only ones in this effort to show the Bulgarian history in paintings, we decided to organize a contest, in which the maximum number of Bulgarian artists, first, have a chance and an opportunity to show their talent, second, to help more viewers, more young people, older people, more dreamers, readers who are interested in what happened in Bulgaria, to get to know our beautiful history, which is truly more than beautiful. And on May 6, until May 24, the biggest exhibition organized in Bulgaria will take place, in which there is an award fund for the artists who did the best, and a prize for the viewer. What is the prize for the viewer? Huge self-esteem. Order our exhibition. We will be happy to open the door together, which shows us what we looked like before and who we really are.
