I'm taking you to Kabul Afghanistan we'll explore some secret places some
delicious food and a lot of hidden gems let's start
I just had my most surprising experience in Kabul and it is this
Welcome to Kabul welcome to Afghanistan I'm here to explore this beautiful diverse country
and I will show you everything you need to see and know about this place culturally
let's start with kabul in the last video I showed you how and why I came to Afghanistan and
now now that I have my paperwork sorted it is time to start exploring Kabul properly so I already
went to the shrine of Saki on my first evening it's my second morning let's start I'm
starting with mosque Abdul Rahman also called the Grand Mosque of Kabul it is located right in the
middle of the ministry it's a little bit hard to film but I was really happy to go inside because
it is beautiful it has three stories one is dedicated to women the main prayer Hall is quite
simple but it's a grand imposing beautiful structure definitely worth a visit if you
can I am right outside the restaurant now and it is time to go get some Kabul Pulao because I am
starving time to introduce you to the best dish you will have in Kabul this is Kabul pulao also
lovingly called this kabul so this is rice these are carrots raisins and you get small chunks of
either beef or sheep meat and the best part of it is is actually made in fat um meat fat
I love how different the taste is because you mix carrots raisins and meat and it just gives a little bit
of a different flavor and all the plovs you will have in Central Asia even in Pakistan this is
really unique I'm going to go finish all of this because I'm super hungry well see you in a bit
so I am in the Flower Street and I found something amazing so this is the limousine
rental version of Afghanistan so what happens is when someone gets married they either bring
their own car to be decorated or these guys provide the car with the flowers and the driver
so bride and groom can be happy you know that's why it's a limousine version of Afghanistan it's
a fairly small street let me show you around and then we are going to the chicken
street welcome to chicken street and unlike the name no one's selling any chickens here
but not anymore it used to be the main center now it's a rather modern looking street that
sells mostly antique so if you want to buy some jewelry actually do sell some
really beautiful old jewelry let's go check it out and then we get to our next stop
you can buy some beautiful carpets jewelry furniture everything here
this is called a ghulail and this is the ancient weapon so you just go isn't oh how you use
it two more amazing things that I discovered in chicken street number one this is a helmet and
might look like a warrior's helmet at first this is actually for the brides so this part
goes in front of the face on their wedding day so that no one sees their face and this
is obviously from the older times and this is the second thing so these necklaces are pretty common
especially with the nomadic people so when the coins started they were not so interested in the
value of the coin the monetary value they were more happy with because they were shiny so they
used this as jewelry instead you know where I've seen this happening in another part of the world
Guatemala there people also used to do the same thing how cool is this stuff and there's so much more
jewelry here to see and explore you need need to come to chicken street don't miss it
I'm sitting somewhere I've been meaning to come for a very long time this is the Tomb of the first
Mughal Emperor Baabar and his first name was Zahiruddin Babar he came from Central Asia passed through
Kabul and then went on to rule the subcontinental India and form the Mughal Empire well he loved this
place so much that he decided to come back and he wanted to be buried here now his it is
a rather simple tomb and I say that because his great-grandson Shah Jahan build a Taj Mahal you
know some of the tombs you will see in Lahore are way grander but this is simple it's elegant and
its beautiful the park around is also really beautiful the actually closed it but I pleaded
and they were nice enough to open it for me for 5 minutes let me show you around especially the view
around here the sunset is beautiful oh I love this place and it is everything I ever imagined
this is the Palace of the queen of Amin Abdul Rahman Khan sadly it's closed because I'm a little late
it's time to eat again and this time I've come to try another specialty that you will find in
Kabul shinwari so what happens is you come you will tell the guy what kind of meat you want they have
the sheep hanging right in front of you they will prepare the meat it goes and they cook it for you
fresh this is not something you want to eat in a haste takes about 30 to 40 minutes to prepare at
the very least now they bring it to you fresh and they only bring it like this this is the karay and
the best part is there's no plates everyone eats communally so you just take this and you start
basically but do not drink any cold drinks with it because it's very meat heavy so drink some keva or
some green tea and that will be absolutely divine no forks and knife either
good morning I woke up excitedly and came to check out the latest edition on top things to
do in Kabul sadly it's not there so this is the tallest flag pole and you get to see the new flag
of Afghanistan on there but sadly it was dirty so they sent it for cleaning but it's not wasted
because we came to the Wazir Hill and from here you get a beautiful 180° view of Kabul let me
show you and then we move on to our next stop which is going to be beautiful mosque
again right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Kabul I bring you to some place you
can't enter if you're a non-muslim so this is Shah Shamshir and this is the oldest mosque
in Kabul what I really liked driving around just saw it it's a very peculiar structure
and it stands right in the middle of a road so you get to see it and you obviously look
at it and I was told it's a mosque so I was quite intrigued and we came we had to
get like some extra permission to come inside because it's not allowed for non-muslims but
it is a beautiful mosque so the ground floor has beautiful really simple but elegant um
decoration the ceiling is absolutely gorgeous and what I found quite interesting was the
use of the color green when it came to the main Arch on the upper floor that green is
entirely missing and you get to see all this woodwork so the ceiling on the ground floor is
also really beautiful very intricate woodwork as well well let's enjoy it together

guy the masseuse was so amazing and I feel so relaxed now it is incredible they also
have a huge swimming pool different like temperature pools they have a steam room
