WE'RE GETTING A POOL!!! | The Making of Our Dream Home

Baby is coming in with a little special treat for a very special meeting. I can't see a thing. It's so bright outside. I got some special donuts for a special meeting. That's literally what I just said. You just said that? I did. Oh my lord. We gotta hit the road because we're gonna be late to our special meeting. Special meeting. Lego. Okay y'all, but seriously, we're so excited. But first and foremost, welcome back to our channel. Welcome back to the channel. We have a very happy day. If you watched our last video, we're coming off of two different home meetings and we're going to a little special surprise meeting. And some of you have probably started guessing because we've been hinting. Because it's really cool what we're doing. Before we share with you what we're doing, have you by chance seen a certain video, a certain home update video from a few months ago? I'm asking for a miracle right now. Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus, can you turn this wine in the water? Because Tori and I right now, our pool is out of the budget. It's out of the question, so we can't get it. Which, you know, we moved to Florida to hopefully have a pool, enjoy our home life, right? Because we work from home. So, Lord willing, do what you will. Surprise! We're getting a pool! It's happening! Praise God and praise our builder. Truly, you know when we were like, it needs to be a miracle? Literally a miracle. And we'll share more. Let's get back to the vlog. So, hi. It's a few weeks later. It's a very exciting day. And boy, do I have some dirty details to share with you. Dirty, okay. Some dirty details. Some dirty... Stop focusing. Some dirty details. Are you kidding me right now? The pool is in full motion. We got a permit and they moved quick. Like literally, they got here not even an hour ago and there's already this much progress. It's crazy. I'm going to flip the camera around. Oh, I didn't flip it around. Okay, let's try it one more time. So, one of the things that we're most excited about with the pool is that, obviously, pools are not cheap. And so, we worked together with our home builder and Caribbean Pools to build an affordable pool that we're super proud of. Affordable pool. I like the way that sounds. Because they typically don't go together. So, we were able to come up with a whole design, which we're going to share later on. With all the finishes that really kept the price low. Y'all got it so good. This was one of those prayers that I was like, I don't know if this is going to happen. And he made it away. Where there was no way. Truly. He dug a hole. Where there was no way. Where there was no hole. He put water where there was no water. He put a sunshell where there was no... Is it were no sunshell? Was no sunshell? Where there wasn't any sunshell. He put pool jets where there were... I'm kidding. Hey babe. I'm really excited to lay down roots with you. Am I digging myself into a hole? Deeper and deeper. Hey babe. Do you think my tractor's sexy? Say that one more time, Luke. Scoop, there it is. Hey babe. So, what do you get when you mix a cool phrase and a pun? A pool. Because that's what we're getting. Hey babe, that's what we're getting. So, I just talked to Mark. He's running around somewhere over there. And he's with Caribbean Pools. And he actually invited me back to be a part of the rebar process. Which is now that the pool's dug, they're going to add all this metal into it. And so I'm going to come back in a few hours. But we're going to flash back to actually choosing our pool finishes. The fun stuff for me. Yeah, I love it. And then we're going to get to the fun stuff for me. So, we'll see you in a bit. So, Tori and I are at the meeting for the pool. Which is ridiculous. And this has honestly been probably the easiest meeting we've had regarding the home build. Yeah, I feel like we truly like anything. Like, we're very much a pool is a pool. And that's amazing. And she's checking to see which tiles are available right now. Look at that kid in the frame. They're so excited for us. Anyways, so we're going to see which ones are available. And we're going to pick the flooring finishes and all that good stuff. Do you want to show them the floor you're thinking of? We'll lay out the floor we're thinking of, the tile around the pool, and also the bottom of the pool. What's surprising is you know I lean towards cream, white, neutral, everything. But we're actually leaning towards this blue tile. So, this is the travertine that we're doing around the pool. And then this is, I think, what tile we're going to do inside the pool. And then this will be the finish we're deciding between on the bottom. And I feel like this just kind of goes better. But if this brings out more of that blue, we can do that too. I'm not overly partial. This is going to be in the water, so you're not really going to be able to see this at all. It might just give a little blue. This goes almost exactly with this travertine. And just so you guys know, this is Jennifer at Caribbean Pools. She's the one making all this magic happen. She works so fast. This is the fastest meeting I've ever had. Yeah, let us know what you think. Y'all, it is a couple days later. And actually about an hour before this video goes live. But we just wanted to kind of give y'all a little update about how we were able to manage this. Because, like I said, I was in tears this morning just thinking about how good God is. And it just felt like such a... I don't want to say selfish because it's not. But God really does know the desires of your heart. And this was something that... I didn't know I was actually going to cry. I'm emotional. But it really was like an answer to prayer for us to be able to do this. And such a lifestyle changer. Like working from home. I do feel like we're in this preparation season for praying and asking and petitioning God for kids. And the vision for this little shelf area in the pool is a vision I had before we even moved to Florida. To be able to play with our future children in this pool. And so it just feels like... I don't know. It's coming to life. And God's answering little promises. I was on the phone with my friend Lauren last night. And I told her there's this song. It's called In the Meantime. I'll post a little pic of the thumbnail of the song. But the whole song's premise is like... I know that there's this deep desire in your heart. And I'm working on that. I'm preparing you for that. And you'll understand why when it does come. And the timing that it comes. But I'm going to satisfy other desires of yours in the meantime. And I just really felt like that's what God's been doing in this season. Is satisfying these other desires that have also been on our hearts. Even though we have this other deep desire to have children. But God's timing is so much better than ours. And so anyways, I really had no idea. I get emotional. But it was an answer to prayer that we were able to do this. And when y'all see vlogs in the future of us playing with our kids in this pool. That's all God. And so what had happened was... Our builder emailed us a couple weeks ago. And was like, would you guys be willing to push your move date back just a little bit. And be a part of this thing called the Parade of Homes. And it really is such an honor. And for us, Mark has done so much for us through this build process. And really just championed us in these areas. Mark the builder. Mark Holbert of Holbert Homes. And so we wanted to honor him by saying yes. Of course, we want for you to be able to show off your work. Because this house is so unique. And because of that, because of the push timeline. We were able to actually do this pool. And financing. He was super helpful in helping us come up with a plan. That's why it's important to find a builder who wants to work with you on stuff. Who wants to help you come up with solutions. Because that's what they do. They build bedrooms. They build closets. They build kitchens. They build pools. And they can help you come up with creative solutions. Especially when you haven't done this before. I had to get off camera because I was getting emotional. I just disappeared. You did. I noticed. I was like, where is he? Have you ever seen the Simpsons meme? Where he just goes into the bushes. Tori and I are just floored. My arm is so tired right now.
