Welcome to Creative Piano Academy with me, Joseph Sykora, for another Piano in 60 Seconds
video where I try to show you something awesome that's fun to play in 60 seconds or less.
Today I've got something a little bit cheesy, a little bit throwaway for you, and if you
can pull it off, you'll sound and look very impressive. And to be honest, it kind of looks
a little bit harder than it is, so check it out.
So there you go, let's put 60 seconds on the clock, starting now.
Now this whole thing uses a C major chord, so left hand C major chord in this octave,
right hand C major chord here, fingers 5, 3 and 1, 1, 2 and 4. Just put that pedal down
because you're only using the C major chord, so it doesn't really matter. And what we should
do is spread the chords out. So here, C, E, G, C, E, G. Now comes the tricky bit, your
left hand hops over the top to this octave up here, C, E, G, right hand underneath, C,
E, G, like this. So we get...
Nice and even, and then just reverse and come back down, OK?
Now when you get used to that, we can spread out as many of these octaves as we want. So
we can start down here...
And just keep hopping over and underneath...
Until you get used to it, OK? And then when you're used to it, you can start speeding it up.
OK, but the point is you want to make sure it's really nice and even. OK guys, so I hope
you enjoyed that and it's inspired you a bit. Now, hopefully when you get used to it, you'll
realise that it's all subjective, but it's not actually that difficult. You know, once
you get used to that hopping over the top and underneath, it kind of just enters its
own sort of flow, and to me it's got that really nice sort of waterfall sound, I don't
know, anyway, it just sounds really nice. So that's all from me this week, like the
video if you liked it, subscribe to the channel, and I will see you, I will see you in the
next video.
