Hi friends and welcome to day 23 of your 30-day meditation.
And we'll begin to find a few moments to get to your comfortable position for today
in a safe, secure, and quiet space. And this might be sitting upright in an easy seat on your mat,
sitting on a block or a blanket or a bolster. You may even find yourself lying down
using a pillow. Whichever way honors your body today, follow that and just be sure that you're
able to fully relax and decompress in this posture for the next 10 to 15 minutes or so.
Let's start with a deep inhalation through your nose and a long open mouth exhalation here.
Now finding a nice bear hug, squeeze your shoulders up by your ears, deep breath in
and exhale. Release your grip, rolling your shoulders down your back,
softening your grip and letting your arms and palms melt down by your sides or rest
softly on your knees. Take some time to just settle into this space.
You can choose to place one hand on your heart and one on your belly,
maybe even both hands on your heart as you allow your gaze to draw inwards and soften.
Relaxing your facial muscles, relaxing your brows,
removing your tongue from the roof of your mouth, sending some space in between your teeth and
melting your lips together. Allow yourself permission to explore this moment,
just you and your breath and filling your lungs with fresh air and exhale,
melting your shoulders further down your back, releasing any stale air. Begin to notice the
warmth of your body as it radiates into your palms. Notice your existence in this space
at this time and give yourself a thank you for once again taking these few moments of time
to yourself. You can slowly release your hands to your knees and let's begin. It's so very easy for
us to complicate life. We always feel that we need this specific job title, we want to live in this
particular neighborhood, and we feel like if we want to truly be happy and accomplished with
ourselves, we have to obtain all of these things. And while goals and aspirations are wonderful
and obtaining these things, these items, these successes is very wonderful as well,
they are not the root of our happiness. To be honest, finding happiness is quite simple.
It does not come with a price tag. If we just choose to look a little closer, a little deeper,
you can begin to find the first tool in helping you find happiness. This
begins with just the beauty of our existence and our breath, our life, the simple things that
no one can charge you for. The sunset, smelling the ocean, the leaves as they fall off of a tree,
sitting in the grass. Happiness is in these simple, simple things.
Spending time with someone you love, someone that really understands you,
or even just spending time with the person that understands you the best.
Once we open our everyday miracles of life and really observe how much of a blessing it is
to leave our homes and be able to come back alive, existence in itself becomes a miracle.
Life is so fragile, and once we realize that we all are one, we all happen to notice how happy
and healthy and loved and understood we are. All of our needs are so very similar,
and once we accept this idea and have grace on others in understanding that
their needs are pretty much the same, we begin to understand and help each other a little better.
We all want to be heard, we all want to be happy, we all want to be understood to some degree.
If we let go of that ego, the pride, the power games, the money,
we start to notice that we all share the same purpose. We just want to live authentically
and purposefully. Inhale and exhale. Be patient, be thankful, be loving,
be helpful. Release grudges, sadness, anger towards others. Provide more grace
for others and yourself. We're all human, and we're all doing a good job at being human.
No one is perfect. No family is perfect. No relationship is perfect. Have grace on yourself
and have grace on others. For everything that you can point out about someone else,
they can point out something for you. Understand and know that provides so much grace on us every
single day. It's time that others received the same. Inhale and exhale. With soft inhales and
exhales and your eyes still closed, you begin to gently turn your head side to side. Maybe you find
a few neck rolls. And before you leave this place, remember one last time that you can return here
anytime you wish. Even if you only have five minutes or 10 minutes, even just a moment,
it reminds you that you are the owner of this space. And it's yours to take advantage of at
any point in time. Bring your palms together to your forehead to remind yourself that your mind
is the most powerful part of you. Be mindful of your thoughts. Be mindful of what you allow
into your mind as these things can manifest into your physical body and your daily life.
Bring your palms to your lips to remind yourself to speak positively to others.
Speak gracious words to others. And not only your words, but your tone. Be mindful of your tone.
Words are so powerful. Gentle words, a gentle tone brings life and health,
but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Be mindful of aggression. And if you need just a
moment to get your thoughts together, don't feel rushed before releasing your words to someone.
And now bring your hands to your heart to remind yourself that we love others because God first
loved us and continues to love us every day and have grace on us every single day.
You are loved. You have a purpose and a reason for your existence here,
just as anyone else does. You're not a fluke. You're not a mistake. You're not a coincidence.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You may flutter your eyes open. Thank you,
friends, for joining me in our meditation today. I pray that you feel empowered and know that you
are blessed and can laugh without fear of the future. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
