Cheap vs. Expensive Jet Skis
#jetskiing #sports
This video was done by professionals under the supervision of professionals on a closed course!
In today’s video, we compare cheap vs. expensive jet skis with our $14,000 Evo Jet Jet ski and the 2000 Scramjet Jet ski. Later we help Mike start a new business and stop by Zumiez for a meetup in the mall!
As you guys know on this channel,
we like to build very odd one-off machines
that most of the time have never been built before.
We think for good reasons.
But lately, some things have been happening to us
where we end up building something
and then find out it was built long before
and they just discontinued making them.
So today, that's what we're gonna be testing out.
We found a Scramjet.
This is basically like our Evojet,
except it was produced back in the year 2000.
For one year only, we're gonna be testing it today
against our $14,000 jet ski,
being that this one costed 1,500.
We wanna see how they compare.
This thing was only made for one year?
Yeah.
Wow, it really must suck.
Well, I mean, you look at the hovercrafts,
they didn't last very long.
Yeah, but they at least get like four years out of them
before they figure that out.
They didn't last very long.
If this thing just rolls over,
we're gonna know like, okay,
it was clearly just super dangerous.
That's true, that's a good point.
I think in 2000, they could have came up
with a better hood prop than this stick.
What about the wet bikes?
The wet bikes, those were a short run as well.
Yeah, that was even shorter run with us.
We built a wet bike that actually worked
much better than those.
Typically, the problem with these older versions
of whatever we buy is the engine.
But check this out, dude.
This is amazing.
Oh man, it fired up instantly last time.
So this thing's got 50 horsepower, as said on the sticker.
And our EvoJet over here has 100 horsepower.
It's pretty much just a Sea-Doo Spark
with a custom top on it, but Sea-Doo Spark hull
and that Sea-Doo Spark motor in it, a little hopped up.
Basically, just like a go-kart, but a jet ski.
It's like a jet ski go-kart.
So yeah, we thought this was pretty sweet,
and then we came to find out that they'd made
one of these before, 20 years prior.
This thing works pretty good.
We'll see if that thing does too,
or probably not, being that they never made them again.
That one honestly sounds better.
Did you hear that two-stroke revving up?
I knew you'd like that part of it, Evan.
All right, let's see if we can back these things down.
Luckily, there's not a crowd today.
You guys should have a drag race launch race.
Let's see how badly both of us can do this.
Oh, that's...
What?
That is not the attitude to have.
Go!
Oh, shit.
Oh!
Oh, Ken!
Ken!
Oh, Ken!
Yo, Ken's on a rock!
Ken!
Oh, shit.
I gotta say, it wasn't the prettiest backup job,
but I got in the water first,
and first is all that matters here.
The brakes kept frickin' engaging on this.
Okay, Evan, blame it on the equipment.
Magnum.
Dude, this thing is just branded so aggressively.
Like, it better perform.
All right.
Let's hear this thing start.
See, dude?
It fires right up.
I'm not gonna lie, Ryan's jet ski is actually pretty fast.
Oh, my gosh!
Ha, ha!
Dude, he just cleared the wake.
That's a hard landing, though.
Oh!
He flipped it!
Oh, my God, he flipped it.
He's going under!
Ow!
Evan, get in!
What is it?
There's nothing I can do, and I can't even swim!
Get in!
I'm at the rear.
Flip the boat!
Dude, ah, f**k me!
You got it?
Is there a wrong way to flip this, Mike?
Wait, nope.
That was the right way, I think.
Oh, my gosh!
Bro!
That was quick!
What just happened?
Dude, that was...
I wasn't trying to.
That was funny.
Oh, my God, that was funny.
There's two feet of water in here right now.
Going under.
I'm not gonna lie.
It's not bad.
I don't know if it went up to the engine.
We did flip it the right way.
A little premature on the braking it, though.
My bad.
It's all good over here, baby.
What the f**k, Ryan?
Dude, I was just trying to be cool.
All right, so we're pulling the scramjet
to this little axis over here.
We're gonna get up on shore
and hopefully dump all the water out
and then be okay.
All right, I'm gonna test fire it.
Oh, that's bull.
There was water in there.
Whoa!
There was water in there.
Yeah, there was a lot.
Yeah.
Good thing we didn't try and start it.
We don't need any of these, do we?
Like, these nuts and bolts at the bottom?
I think those are just extras.
Yeah!
There we go.
Nope.
She's gonna be unhappy for a few minutes.
Don't worry about that.
We'll get her cleaned out.
Dude, I love this thing.
That was so much water.
It looks just 100% unpleasant.
I love catching air, but that looks terrible.
It's like you're waiting for a jet ski.
It's like I've seen this movie before.
Five minutes ago.
I'm sorry, I didn't think I was gonna get caught there.
Who would've seen that coming?
He might've tried to start it and it locked it up.
Oh my.
You know, if you're gonna ride something
from the early 2000s, you gotta know how to wrench.
You gotta have a whole team of people.
Oh yeah.
Man, I really suck at this jet skiing thing.
Behind my buddy Ken, you're the biggest jet skier I know.
I'll let him have his moment for the day.
So that thing fits two people, Ryan?
Yeah, it says two people are 380 pounds.
You probably got room for Ken.
Dude, this thing was already taken on water with just me.
I'm just worried if it tips now,
you guys are gonna be stuck.
You're good, you're good.
Dude, you guys fit in there like a glove.
All right, so we give Ken a bunch of shit
because we did a speed dating video with him
and he just started lying.
Telling all these girls his favorite thing to do
is jet ski.
So what are your hobbies?
So I do a lot of water sports, like jet ski.
Jet ski?
He lies extremely.
You like to jet ski?
Yeah, I do lots of jet ski.
Now he's lying some more.
Jet ski.
He's jet ski left the lift three times this summer.
So now we always say that he's the biggest jet skier
in the group.
I am physically the biggest jet skier in the group.
Physically.
That is a pretty easy sell.
You're trying to pick up a chick to say you love jet skiing.
Odds are they probably like jet skiing too.
It took you guys a few months
but everyone's coming around to it.
The only thing is it never worked out
between you and your girl.
You know, maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
Yeah.
Gavin told the truth the whole time
and he's still dating his girl.
The mom chaser though.
Ken chose the playboy lifestyle.
Yeah, Ken goes for quantity, not quality.
I think I'm gonna need to up the security.
This thing's almost sinked twice today.
If it's gonna sink, I think it'll be right now.
I am legitimately worried if they tip now
that they're gonna be like fighting each other to get out.
Ken's having the time of his life.
Oh!
We gotta keep her wide open.
Oh shit.
We got it, we got it, we got it, we got it, we got it.
Whoa!
Freaking Ken and Ryan flipped it.
That was so funny.
Ken, how you doing?
Sorry.
All right, Ken, yeah.
All right, so last summer,
we tried to help Mike start up his own side business
because as you guys know,
Mike spends money like it's going out of style.
So we're trying to help him bring in some additional funds.
Where we went wrong is that we tried helping him
start a water truck business.
First off, not that many people are paying money
to get a water truck to their house to water their flowers.
Also, Mike just did a terrible job.
He wasn't passionate about it.
So we went back to the drawing board,
we started thinking,
what is something that Mike is passionate about?
And it basically came to us immediately.
Hot dogs.
He loves hot dogs.
The dude eats hot dogs like every day.
So we figured, why not get him his own hot dog stand?
So he doesn't know it.
We're going to be surprising him with it,
but we're going to suit this thing up,
Mike's hot dogs,
and then surprise him,
hit the streets,
and hopefully he can make a couple bucks on the side
to, you know,
spend on some drift cars that don't work.
Help fund his lifestyle.
I am a little nervous he's going to get high
on his own supply, dude.
I am a little worried about that as well.
We're going to have to be very clear,
like Mike,
you're here to sell the hot dogs,
not eat them.
All right, check this thing out.
We picked up this food cart stand
off of Facebook Marketplace.
But right now,
it's got this shaved ice sign on the side of it.
So this is what it used to be used for.
So we're going to swap that out for Mike's hot dog stand.
We've got a hot dog roller
that we're going to throw on the top here.
Have it fit and finish,
so obviously Mike can provide his customers
with the best experience.
He's got his face on the picture.
Yeah, the legendary hot dog picture.
And naturally, Mike's hot dogs,
I got that dog in me.
You better tell him to keep the dogs out of them.
Today, he will have to.
All righty.
Well, you obviously can't have a hot dog stand
without a hot dog roller.
Mike's unit will be fully set up and good to go.
It's like a glove, dude.
It's perfect.
All right, so we got a 30 dog,
hot dog roller over here for Mike,
brand new.
He's going to be pumped about that.
Probably going to put that in his office
when he's done with this.
Hot dogs!
Get your hot dogs!
She's done, and she turned out absolutely amazing.
There's no doubt in my mind,
Mike's going to sell hundreds,
if not thousands of hot dogs.
We probably should get some brakes on this thing.
We're going to have to tell Mike to bring a wheel chock.
He's going to have to stick one of his extra dogs
under the tire.
A little walk around of the Mike's hot dog wagon.
Obviously, decals everywhere.
Of course, you got your menu.
He only sells hot dogs.
$1 per dog.
Keep it simple, it's already been perfected.
If you come around the back here,
he's got his hot dog roller.
Going to be keeping the dogs fresh.
Of course, a sink,
because he makes sure he washes his hands
before he's handling the wieners.
And then a little spot here for some condiments,
and that's probably all he needs.
Before, there used to be a hitch hooked onto this,
and you could pull it with a vehicle.
Well, we want Mike to be able to go mobile with it.
You know, be able to hit the sidewalk
and serve as many people as he can.
So this way, you just basically just pull it along.
It's like a chariot, kind of.
Hot dogs!
Get your hot dogs!
Hot dogs!
$1!
All right, we're going to load her up,
and then go surprise Mike with it.
Something tells me he's going to probably shed a tear.
This is definitely one of the better gifts
that we've ever given Mike.
Ken gets one of these every other day.
So this would mean nothing to Ken,
but to Mike, Mike doesn't really get gifts very often.
He loves buying stuff.
I mean, he buys himself something
at least twice a day, three times a day.
As far as getting gifted things,
he should be very appreciative of this.
All right, Mike, so last summer,
we tried to start a new business for you.
The water truck did not go very well.
Right, and I really had a tough time
when I was getting jobs.
They were like, the graphic, man.
You can't have that around my house.
That's really what did me dirty.
Right, so we went back to the drawing boards,
and we thought, well, what's the best business
that Mike could possibly be in?
So we went ahead, and we got you this.
Holy sh...
Wow!
We got you a hot dog stand.
What the heck, dude?
Is this brand new?
Yes.
Yeah, bro.
Wait, how do I drive it?
No, you don't drive it.
That's the thing, you pull it.
Dude, the decals are actually insane.
Isn't it nice?
I cannot wait to start slinging hot dogs.
You guys have no idea how rich I'm about to get.
People are not gonna know whether to call me
Hot Dog Mike or Money Mike,
because I'm gonna have both.
You're gonna be both.
Here's the thing, though.
$1?
Yeah, we figured, keep it simple.
Hot dogs, that's all you need.
What more do you need than a hot dog, right?
I love that.
You need chips?
No, just buy another hot dog.
No.
And then, why charge $2, $3 to make more money
when you could sell them for $1
and get more hot dogs in people's mouths?
All right, let's get to town.
All right, where's Mike?
Are you coming to your hot dog here, or what?
Yeah, we're waiting for you.
Why are we doing all this work for his business right now?
That's true friendship.
You know how it goes.
If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
If you can teach a man how to fish,
he'll eat for the rest of his life,
and that's what we're doing here with Mike.
You know, he needs a little bit of help
with the business and the fish.
Teach him how to show up on time.
This is step one, showing up on time
is about step 50, right?
Yeah.
Dalton, don't be getting in any altercations now today.
Last time we were here, Dalton got attacked.
So Mike is also banned,
and possibly all of us, we're not entirely sure yet.
We'll probably find out.
From a certain block on downtown Fargo,
because he rode an e-bike over the bench.
So I'd imagine if he has an illegal hot dog stand
parked out on, he's getting to go to jail today.
All right, Mike, day one of your new business.
Don't be intimidated by the other food trucks over there.
Yeah, they're a lot bigger, nicer.
They actually drive under their own power,
but they've been doing this a little bit longer for you.
You gotta work your way up.
Okay, so we got you this apron,
and then obviously the hat.
That is ridiculous.
You gotta look the part.
Oh my God.
All right, don't do that.
You're gonna scare customers away if you start doing that.
Si boys.
You look like you're hungry for a hot dog.
No.
What?
Where's my old employee, Ryan?
Where is Ryan?
I manage the detail shop.
He always told us he was the manager.
He was in charge a couple times.
A couple times he was in charge.
That makes more sense.
Manager.
So Mike, the biggest thing about selling hot dogs
is most people, I know this is gonna be super hard
to believe,
but most people don't actually wanna buy hot dogs.
I know.
So you're gonna have to learn how to sell.
Gosh, we should've pulled up to the baseball game
or something.
We should've got you a Grant Cardone class
or something like that.
How to sell.
So here's the big thing.
People are going to avoid you.
So you have to yell, hot dogs, hot dogs,
and then they're gonna try and not make eye contact with you,
and you're gonna have to get in their face
and yell, hot dogs!
There you go.
Just whatever you do, do not do that whole hot dogs thing.
I won't do that.
Oh, here we go, Mike.
Here we go.
You guys need a hot dog?
No, thank you.
Had to ask.
This is going well.
What are you gonna tell them when they ask
what kind of hot dogs these are?
Gourmet.
The good ones.
Get your hot dogs here!

Gourmet hot dogs, $1.
Can't beat the price, can't beat the flavor.
You guys need a hot dog?
No.
Hey, I do gotta up my selling game here.
What would make a person want a $1 hot dog?
All about the selling.
When you don't got a good product,
you gotta sell them on it.
No, that's the worst part.
Once the money's in your pocket,
who gives a shit if they like the hot dog?
Are they good?
Yeah, they're good.
Okay, I'll get a hot dog.
Hey, let's go!
My first sale ever!

I'll take a hot dog truck.
I wouldn't call it a truck.
More of a wagon.
I would say a wagon.
I was standing on the way over there,
guy walks by, looks at me,
and I was kind of looking at the stand
so he could tell I was interested in it.
He goes, actually a damn good hot dog for a dollar.
Mike's off to a hot start.
Hopefully he carries this momentum.
That was a great start.
This is easy, dude.
Way easier than being a YouTuber.
Yeah, you've already made four bucks.
I know.
Yeah, I gave the guy a deal on the last one for 80 cents.
How much do they cost per package?
Is he losing money or making money?
He's losing money.
By the time he bought the condiments and the buns,
it was over a hundred bucks for him.

It's not looking promising.
He ain't answering.
No, most of the time telemarketers don't FaceTime you.
We'll just spam call him.
Sure, it's still going.
It's still going.
Oh!
Start calling him like normal.
He's going to think it's an emergency.
It kind of is.
He just won an R8.
He does have three days.
Phone has been forwarded to voicemail.
Hey, Zach, answer your FaceTime.
I promise it's worth it.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like-
A telemarketer wouldn't say that, right?
I've got a great deal for you.
I mean-
He's going to block my number.
I know, yeah.
Come on, Zach!
No!
Oh my God!
Who is this?
Don't tell him who it is.
Be like, come on.
Just answer.
You'll see.
Oh my God, dude, he's putting up a fight.
Oh my gosh!
All pass, LOL.
All right, he passed!
I-
Are we able to switch it?
Promise you, you don't want to pass.
Well, you hit it with the all pass, LOL.
I feel like this one would be like if Ken won something.
My message won't send.
He just blocked me.
Should I call him from my phone?
He just blocked me!
This is the first time this has ever happened.
Give her another shot.
Oh, oh, oh!
He's calling!
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
He's calling.
Hello?
Oh, what the?
Dude, are you still passing, bro?
Are you passing on it or what?
No, well, I'm so...
I was like, who is 701?
I don't know anybody 701.
Well, congratulations, brother.
You just won an Audi R8 in $10,000 cash.
You're freaking lying.
Dead ass, brother.
Well, if you claim it, you did say that all pass, LOL.
No, I'm taking it.
If you had to put into words how you're feeling right now
or how you're going to be feeling driving that car, try.
I live in a city where potholes can fit us.
This guy's already thinking about the potholes.
Oh, no!
If you don't want to keep the car,
you want to sell it and just cash out, that's just fine.
That doesn't hurt our feelings either, so.
Okay.
I don't want vacation, but I'll unblock y'all.
All right, thank you.
I'll text you all the details,
but congratulations, brother.
I'm glad that you unblocked me
and I'm glad that you didn't pass on the car
and congratulations on being the luckiest dude I know.
All right, brother, I'll talk to y'all soon.
Congratulations, man.
Good one, brother.
What a strange interaction,
but congratulations on Zachary, dude.
Wow.
He was really calm about it.
He's just used to winning, bro.
