Assalam Walekum and welcome to Germany for
Student Channel. In the German language course A1
level, which was lesson number one,
we had started a topic in that but we
could not discuss every topic of A1 in such detail, so I have
started a series and in this series we will
see such alphabets in German language that when these two or three alphabets are
combined, a specific sound is
produced. Which are those alphabets
that we can combine?
Today is the second lesson on that. Before this, we
saw the combination of S to Ha. Whenever
S to Ha comes together in a German word,
we will pronounce it by using Sh. And in today's lesson,
we will see that
when two alphabets A and E come together in German language,
how will we pronounce them. This will
also improve your pronunciation and you will
also get to learn a lot of new vocabulary. So
whenever A and E come together in German language,
we will pronounce them by using I.
In English, there is simply one alphabet
I. In German language, I is pronounced as Sh.
To pronounce, we use two alphabets A and E.
Now we will see
which are those nouns,
verbs or adjectives in German language in which A and
E come together and if they come together, then
how do we pronounce them and
what do these alphabets mean. So
if we write A and E together, it produces the sound of I.
And I in German language
means egg. So I egg. Next example
is ice. A and E are pronounced together as
I. And if S comes before it, then it is
called ice ice. In German language,
ice cream is pronounced as I. Now, taking this word a little further,
I and S A N Jan Eisen Eisen
means iron. Then we have another
example. Now we are looking at such alphabets
where A and E come in the beginning
and we are starting all these alphabets with I.
Next example
is Ir Ir Ir says bucket.
Next example is mine.
Now here, A and E are coming in the middle of these words,
not at the beginning. So it
starts with M a e i
my and the next is en mine mine means
mine another example dine de a e die en
dine dine says
your jain
s a ee jai
en jain bine be a e by en
bine bine says leg the next
example is nine n a e na en nine nine does
not mean
khan kha a e khae
enn khan khan does not mean also site site
set a e
site site site says time
is zeit site and zeit these are two such words which have
totally different pronunciation of s and jud in German a
lot of people who
go above a good level in German language they
call site which means time as site site because they have
read jad in English
and they use the same pronunciation here
in German as well but it is
not so here zeid means
sin the preposition sin in English
is zeit in German and it starts with s
s a e
zeit
jait se jail jail sa ae jai jail jail
says rope
ko tha il tha ae tha
il next example is tylan tylan
is a verb which means to share, to
distribute next example see guys
guys
er ae guy s a j guy jai gaje says
journey ko journey er ae guy th a en than righton righton says
horse riding or
ghodha sawari r bite r bite r bite
is said to work and ar bite is a verb which
means to work jai the sa ae jai the ae tha jai
jai says safa or page fry
height now this is such a word in which the
combination of a e is coming twice, so
you will hear the sound of i twice here
fi height fi height fry height says
freedom bla ban be l ae blai be a
en ben bla ban bla ban says
stop to
stay next example is shaga Iban shaga ban
es seha, we did this in the last lesson,
sha er a e gai be a en ben shai ban, so
you must be getting an idea here that
if you know these small combinations very well, that
how to pronounce which alphabet's combination, then
these combinations are used in many German words
with great ease, so
you can easily make
your pronunciation fluent and
better in the German language, if you know these combinations,
which combinations exist
and how to pronounce them, then I
hope that through today's lesson you would have
got an opportunity to learn some new vocabulary
and it will help you in improving your German language
pronunciation,
do give your feedback and if
you liked the video, then do share it,
like it and do give your feedback, we will
see you again in the next video with a new
combination, Allah hafiz
