Assalamu alaikum and welcome to Germany for Students channel Today
is lesson number 35 of the German language course at B1 level
In lesson number 35 we will continue the
topic of passive In today's lesson we will
see how we can make passive sentences in perfect tense in German So let's start the lesson
First of all let's see which sentence structure we have to follow to form passive sentences in the perfect tense in German
For that we place the subject in the first position
On the second position we put the verb Zein
Then we put the verb Satzglied or Satzglieder
Which comes before the participle and after the conjugated form of the verb
After that in the second to last position the participle form of the verb will come
And in the last position of the sentence we will use the word
Worden will be the last part of the sentence Now let's see
them one by one On the second
position the verb Zein will come
And we will conjugate it according to the
subject of the sentence If the subject
is singular then we will use ist If the subject is plural then we will use sind
After that Satzglied will come This is an optional element in the
sentence It is also possible that
there is no Satzglied in any sentence
If not then after the conjugated form of Zein the participle form of the
verb will follow And after that we will use the word to complete the sentence
But if there is a clause in any sentence
it will come after the conjugated form
of the verb and will come before the participle form of the verb
After that we will have the participle
form of the verb which will be on the
second last position and will come on the last position of the word sentence
Now let's understand this sentence structure with the help of some examples And let'
s see how we can convert active sentences
into passive sentences The first example is
Because this sentence is in perfect
When we have to convert it into passive
First of all we have to identify the object of the sentence in the active sentence
The object here is
So we will start the sentence with this because it is singular so the
conjugation of Zein will come after
that the Satzglied in this sentence is
After the Satzglied we have the participle form of the verb The participle
form of the verb is And will come on
the last position of the word sentence
So this sentence will be in passive
The machine has been quickly repaired
Let's see the next example
The staff welcomed the guests well
Now if we have to convert this perfect tense into passive
So first of all we will identify the object of the sentence in the active sentence
Which is
Because it is plural so we
will use And Freundlich which
is an adjective After the
conjugation of the Zein verb
And will use the participle form of the verb first
And will use the word on the last position of the sentence
So this sentence will be
The guests have been received in a good and friendly way
Let's look at the next example
The police have blocked the road due to an accident
Now in this sentence you have to explain
Which case we have used here
To convert this sentence into passive
We will identify the object in it
So this will be We will start the
sentence with Because Strasse is a singular noun
So we will use the conjugated form of
Zein And after that
the Zarsklied will come
After Zarsklied the participle form is "which
means to block" So the participle form is "
blocked" With this our sentence will be
complete
The road has been blocked due to an accident
Let's look at the next example
Behurde means an administration or an agency
Antrag means an application or a request
Andgürtiz means final or the last decision
Ablenen means to rejec
So Behurde has finally rejected the
application Now if we want to convert
this sentence into passive So
we will identify the object in it The object is
We will use it as a subject to make it passive
So we will use the nominative definite article
Which is
Because it is a singular noun
So we will use
Andgürtiz will be used as a Zarsklied And for now the
participle form is Which will be
used on the second last position
And the last position of the sentence will
be The application has been rejected
So this was today's lesson
I hope you got the idea of converting perfect sentences into passive
Now let's move on to the homework
Researchers have published their results You have
to make it passive To make it passive you have
to identify the object You have to use it as a
subject in the passive
Then on the second position
Depending on whether the subject is singular
or plural then we will check if there
is a Zarsklied in the sentence If there is it will come after the conjugated form
And the participle will come on the second last position
And the last position of the sentence will be
Someone sent the letter yesterday
So you have to convert this sentence into passive
I hope this lesson will be easy for you
