Overnight snowfall makes for slippery road conditions

well that winter weather could make this morning's commute more difficult oh it's definitely making it difficult 22 news reporter Julia O'Keefe is live in West Springfield tracking the road conditions yeah that's right rich and Taylor rich like you said it is difficult to drive out here this morning the roads are slick they are slippery here's a look at Memorial Avenue in West Springfield now there's less snow on the roads right now it's it's mostly turning into ice it's sleting the SLE is coming down which is making it uh more slick out here this morning so if you are going to be on the roads today understand that you're going to have to be moving at a slower Pace than normal you're going to want to leave extra time for your morning commute try to stay on tire tracks and be especially slow when you're turning um because that's when you could possibly spin out and if you do start to spin out or skid you're going to want to take your foot off the accelerator do not break hard and instead steer into the direction of that skid and that should get you uh to to come to a stop safely now you're again you're definitely going to want to take it slow out here this morning be aware that the plows and the salt trucks will be coming by so if you have to move over do so to make so the people can maintain those roads and keep you safe out there this morning working for you live in West Springfield from the weather tracker Julia o'keef 22 News
