Hi, my name is Rachel. We're gonna do a 15-minute video on the calf and the Achilles tendon
on Andrea today. Let's get started. All right, working on the calf and the ankle today.
A lot of it is repetition from just kneading to warm up that muscle
into fullying. In the real massage, you sit on the table and work your
hands around the calf and go up in this direction, but just with the extended.
Then you can get really into the gastrocnemius on the first side, which is lateral,
medial, or meridian, and then the medial. Oh, sorry. Okay, we're gonna relax that
and do fullying. Calves can be really sensitive. Just check in with your client. Is the pressure
okay? Would you like more? Would you like less? Stay the same. Circular friction. Circular friction.
Extend. It's more like a compression over the calf muscles. Okay, and different tones down,
different tones up. Why you don't do tapotement on this is because this is the only part that
is fleshy, but you can do compressions like this on the opposite side. Repeat on the same,
on the opposite side. And we're gonna do the Achilles. So this way you're bringing up
the muscle right here. You don't have much room in this area. It's also very vulnerable.
You can flex the foot and really get into the little ones because you do have a lot of
tendons right there and ligaments. So you see the line through here? You can go down
on both sides and follow the Achilles tendon to the calcaneus, which is this.
Opening all of that up. Just dividing a lot of that little, little muscle tissue
off of that. And same on this side. These circular rotations on the calcaneus up towards the Achilles.
And you can extend this all the way into the gastroc
or your calf. You can do outer first and then inwards. You can do upper outer sides.
They can just easily do rotations around circularly, counterclockwise, and then
clockwise on both ends. All right. And then for the last relaxation massages,
just grab the ankle like this and you pull down. Do that three times because you're also hitting
the muscles on this side of the calf and shin. And just gentle termite tones and S
and circular shapes. And then just straight right here. Thank you for joining me today.
