Abandoned Jail and Detention Centre Urban Exploring with Freaktography Carlo Paolozza & RiddimRyder

okay guys what's going on I'm freaked ography today we're in bandages a big abandon ship one time a psychiatric hospital then it was a full load detention center and then it was used as a youth detention center till it closed quite a few years ago so the Army has done some training in here so from what we understand there's a lot of damage but some destruction from the Army blowing [ __ ] up that was gonna be some jail cells we're gonna have a cafeteria segregation cells we're gonna have a cool spot so I'm here with written writer and of course the UBC follow along what do we do first cue the music cue the intro let's get it this abandoned Ontario jail and detention center was originally built in the early 1960s as a provincial mental health facility in the mid 1970s it was changed to a facility for the developmentally handicapped which also closed in 1983 two years after this closure the facility was given a multi-million dollar facelift to serve as a youth only security custody and detention center the facility served the community safety and correctional services until early in 2012 when the facility was closed suddenly with no reason given or timeline given to staff it just closed down leaving over 200 people out of a job from 2012 through 2017 this abandoned Ontario jail and detention center sat empty power still running heaters on water still running and lights on then in 2017 the military started using this facility for training purposes as of December 2018 the military has used this facility for training three times blowing holes in every possible wall and blowing doors off of every frame I think it's safe to say that any possible reuse of this building is now impossible given the amount of damage done here by the military now this former psychiatric hospital in jail sits an empty shell of what it used to be wooden boards cover the holes in the walls and the floors are riddled with training bullets and debris it is now a playground for urban explorers okay guys here we go we're gonna walk through this range here and then we're gonna go upstairs and see what's going on upstairs alright here we go you go yourself number one jail cell number two all right this side has been just destroyed compared to the other side then we're going to take a look upstairs I don't think we've been upstairs yet oh that's a pretty cool-looking room right there all right here we go no I haven't been up here yet this is all new to me Andy [Applause] okay you got a house out here with some graffiti pictures of artwork we got in this one nothing peeling paint what we got in here check them all guys go check them all this one well we got some pictures on the wall here I'm girlies here we go you get this shot right here this girl there you go another a look see what we got down here [Music] holy [ __ ] so watch this guys so here's this door right here and here's the door where the door knob would be so the army blew it up and the door knob is all the way over here so this door knob smooth from that door right there when they blew it up all the way to here that's nuts they really did a number on this place boy oh wow this place is crazy big holy crap look at the hole that they blew in the wall here from outside to gain access holy [ __ ] another big hole there if it flies all the way from there over there oh look at this your bad guy holding somebody hostage this place is amazing UVC okay guys it's a nice light here take a walk down this hallway take a look outside there at the UBC in there I think there is UBC we got here and this busted glass and brick everywhere this place is good check that big hole up there guys as you can see we have a lot of peeling paint on the floor here in addition to a whole bunch of destruction caused by the military but there's a lot of peeling paint that's fallen to the floor over the years this place has been abandoned for a very long time and watch if you go over in the corner here if you're doing some sort of tactical training you just shot that guy right there see it's two of them in here come in clear the room shoot this guy he's got bullets all over him and then right here shoot this guy - there's your bullets right there that come out of the guns training bullets what this hallway here lots of crunchy pretty much every single room out of the hole blown through it green wall orange green wall feeling safe lots of damage in here Wow [Music] yeah this doors opening light on so we can see today guys I'm gonna see what's in some of these rooms here it's just the bathroom it's here let's see this is just another room nothing in it [Music] okay so now I seem to be inside a common area of room here you got one loan TV over there in the corner and a couple of doors here some windows here obviously you would have had some some tables and chairs right here maybe this is like a visiting room or something yeah I think I hear the UBC coming there he is everywhere I go that UBC's right there here he comes guys booyah so I think this is a visiting room because there's there's a TV up there if you look on the floor there's spots for the tables with a pin right here this is probably where they monitor so this is like a visiting room okay guys we are in the cafeteria right now it looks like go through this blown open door looks like they've got some work they were doing in here building some walls and they got something going on outside that they were building that's really weird and random it's a concrete mixer out there and like they were building a room or something that's really weird here getting camera you be see these guys figured up okay guys here we go walking down another hallway looking for urbex Jaime I got my flashlight on my shoulder and his blue UBC's mind okay so here we got what looks like some kind of a cell but it's not jailed like a with bars but this is obviously a cell right here you've got a smaller one here that the army kick did activity room ubc keep it on friend of mine told me this is place quite amazed and it's really hard to navigate each room and didn't know how to get from one rooms and then I say look at this it's like a sports room with posters all over the wall well it goes upstairs I've gotta finish this for before you anywhere else you like outside there we got here you be Jason somewhere I smell smoke all right leave my camera there for a minute look around here's the food services room this is the big dishwasher yeah kitchen I don't want to lose my camera think I'll grab my camera it's in here a room and then a true weird oh that goes downstairs okay it looks like the basements flooded yeah okay guys watch this so the army came and blew a hole in the wall right here and look at the blast goes from there all the way across onto the wall that's the blast from there like that that's the noise that would have made - so we're in the gym and it's pretty boring in here it's a pretty lame you got some big wall explosions you got a bad guy over here on the wall let's go check out the bad guy ready here he comes here he is guys say hello to the bad guy say hello to the bad guy he's been shot - multiple times okay straighten out the camera okay guys we're in the cafeteria now here you got all these tables and chairs you got a lot of blown-up [ __ ] from when the army was here you got this right here this is a chair it doesn't move who gets to sit in that chair Oh another open door you'll be seeing another open door here yeah you see it alright we got up here plus it's Church just like we're in the chapel guys right here I'm guessing it's a chapel it worked the window here UBC's gonna go outside there is I should lock the door what does the pool over there wonder if it's filled in anyways this appears to be a chapel I'm guessing okay look at how thick this glass is guys holy crap look at this what could help that's one one two three five five layers of glass right there that is a thick glass window and then look how many bullets they shot at it and they still didn't break this one and then down here it's like snow all the glass on the floor this is crazy and then after church he called for lunch in the cafeteria hey no you see I was gonna kick you outside and leave you there okay enough for this video in the cafeteria I got to take some pictures now okay guys I think we found the jail cells here's your shower and yeah a rego there's the cell right here toilets missing secure isolation unit what you will receive mattress two blankets daily shower exercise yard reading material telephone access to child advocate Ombudsman lawyer additional items can be approved in consultation with a manager all right here we go so there's the bed but the toilets have been removed guys they're all exactly the same cool oh now we're talking guys now we're talking another one and then we got some cells back here somebody's been living here it looks like check this out we got some dudes boots and it's close somebody's living in here and then you got another one right here more boots and then you got your shower here with a with jail cell doors all right okay this is cool I like it and then probably can't get outside but this is the recreation yard right here here we go UVC we found it yeah okay guys I got to take some pictures okay guys we're gonna do some filming will be walked right now we're just in the offices so there's really nothing interesting down here but I got the UVC with me yeah it's back there you BJ somewhere so I'm gonna go up here and we're gonna make a left turn see what's interesting so this is where the jail cells for you just ass that's not straight first chief medical officer right there okay yeah we were right down here so we'll go down there [Music] every door in here has been completely bent and warped is it yeah okay so this is the control room right here guys [Music] giant penis on the wall with a hat on it there guys so we're in like a main lobby area here that's outside come on over here okay here's your family visiting lounge notice to the public notice the legal counsel all kinds of interesting information that you need to know when you're in here does my camera moving along meeting room some other kind of room all right all right what look good hey guys so we found the gym you got a really old piece of rusted old gym equipment in here you can do your chest press you can do a you do your lat pull-downs you can do some biceps triceps take your water bottle there and then this here is where you do your crunches your knee raise up against the wall it's nice and sturdy yeah right there jump up hold on tight and lift your legs and work them out let's get outside here probably not no so this is the gym guys that's all I have to say about that okay guys we're walking around here checking all this stuff out done wrong corridor in here big long hallway oh this is the weight went this way this is the peanut butter jam sandwich made from home peanut butter jam butter bread this is how you do it I'm gonna have my lunch now ubc represent Tim Hortons over there eating his sandwich me homemade peanut butter Jim we got some really old stuff going on here like it smell red and brighter it's no cigarettes we got a lot of peeling paint here we got some nice light down here have a look you got the doors all over the place some guessing these are inmate rooms shower area don't drop the soap these rooms are pretty big yeah they're all pretty much the same least a year Leeson these ones would get a window that must smother there's the bed too but the bed's gone and then you get a stool and you get a desk and you get a twin don't look outside it's a pretty big room do these toilets first shower stalls weird okay guys we're gonna head upstairs let's see what we got up here maybe dark up here I think I see one very nice dark there we go okay now we're ready some barred doors this is exactly the same as before we were just on Gaza shower room well this room's got a bed in it nice I've got to take some of these pictures of the rooms with bets all the rooms downstairs didn't have any beds there you go nice I like that all these rooms have des good every room has a bed and every door has been completely slammed got in here it's pretty much identical yeah there's some cool looking chairs over there take a look over here these are pretty neat looking chairs this is where we should have done our picture together that's hilarious yeah and look at all the chairs they're like bolted to the floor and then there's this one here all by himself [Laughter] yeah look at this they cut this door right in half holy [ __ ] give this guy's the army guys cut this door right in half during their training this is insane big cells okay guys picture time back in a bit guys taking a walk here there's your laundry room can't see it's dark take in some of these rooms here they're all exactly the same okay there you go feeling pain window desks stool space for the babies to be fit door blowing out by the army guys this one's got a bed in it there you go this is a full room bed desk and chair that's a good reminding a picture of that bathroom no they too come on here yeah you go guys we're inside this sound this is a big cell for one person so here's what it would look like with everything in it with your bed and then your little desk and your little stool there and your window outside see what they would see there you go here's their little their table bed mattresses are all gone and then whatever would be over here that's a big big room and I do BC just showed me you're in a bathroom up the hallway but there is no toilets if you come in here these ones got the stainless steel toilet zone so you got a stainless steel toilet and then you got your stainless steel stinks see this one's going to rolling up to shake this one's got toilet in it oh there's a gyro right there stainless steel urinal toilet and like no privacy whatsoever crazy and then there's your mirror right there you see it you see me there you go alright okay guys so I'm here with UBC and we're walking around you BJ's off somewhere and we're walking around and I remember the last room we were in that had jail cells but like this it had these windows here so I felt like we were coming on to something and so here we go gonna turn my camera around hopefully you guys can see and here's your large main control room here so here's where your guards would sit this is where they don't have all their cameras set up all their controls and stuff for the different jail cells they've got a bathroom in here possibly a place to store their weapons and then you come over here and so you have to sort of common rooms from the looks of it and then you come in here and here you got one of your main ranges in the in the prison as UBC so here you go so you've got your bed you got your desk with your stool you've got a little wah a little shelf here and then you've got your toilet sink and your mirror and then here's where you get your with your food here's your window and I guess for when they're well-behaved this is the common area from where they would sit this is what I've been wanting to see is uh look at this what a mess wow this is cool guys I like this hey you go take a look at least this one's got privacy from the bathroom that bottle was right here for the showers no yeah we're gonna order the stairs over there they go upstairs - no we haven't been this part yet this is awesome [Music] there's a private toilet here and private showers common area look at the hole they cut through here with the torch it's insane okay guys picture time see you later okay guys found some pretty cool [ __ ] here Freedom Riders says this is gonna be a prisoner intake and what you got here is you've got a cell completely blocked off with Plexiglas and then inside it there's a little place for him to sit and then there's a urinal and then here is where you get all your stuff sweatshirts boxers socks towels t-shirts pants and the liquid laundry detergent is for staff clothing that has been soiled with blood or other bodily fluids that's awesome no ending gassing yeah cool and then here's a room here where you probably go in and get shower to get dressed yeah that's a shower and there you can't see it because the door won't open but this is pretty cool here check this out guys another one of those really weird jail cells Scott saw its guts on the Plexiglas inside so you can't get spit out and [ __ ] out and stuff and then it's got let's see we can't go inside it because they've got it blocked off and welded shut but looks like it had a toilet and that's about it nothing else in there too bad we can't get in there that would be pretty cool but it's been welded shut right here as you can see this no getting in there again this is your intake area yeah there you go so you got a stool to sit in place for privacy if you've got to use the bathroom a shower and here's where you get all your stuff pants shirts towels boxer shorts socks and then a shower room right here it's just probably locked yeah still pretty cool though [Music] here you go okay guys so we were going to go to the basement we're going to go to the basement so we came over here and then we came down these steps here and then we came around the corner here and then we can on the corner here and then this one we found to go into the basement the basement is totally flooded like right out to there we can't get in the basement okay guys we are we're still here and we're in a different wing with some different types of cells and these ones I don't know they don't quite look as nasty or as mean to live in but they're the same they've got a bed and they've got a window st. sighs but water they they're got your showers in here right there those are your shower stalls this just seems a little bit a little bit nicer than some of the other ranges that we've seen in here still got lots of army damage blowing up doors and breaching walls and breaching through doors but that's it's still pretty cool place level floors who fail they're weak are not allowed to access the incentive rooms no exceptions let's see what's in the incentive room nothing but that's your incentive right there guys all right okay we'll do that back a little while maybe this is the arts and crafts room based on the art on the walls here maybe I'm wrong but maybe I'm right okay there's the ceiling fan that's it I'm
