When life feels overwhelming, your mind scattered, and peace out of reach, it's easy to get swept up in anxiety or striving. In this gentle meditation, I guide you to rest in the present moment—settling into a sense of calm, wholeness, and simple contentment. It’s a chance to step off the treadmill and come home to yourself, just as you are.
I offer these every week, along with a short teaching.

So you can invite your body into a posture that helps you to be comfortable and alert.
There are traditional instructions to be soft in the front, firm in the back.
It can help to have a sense of uprightness if you are sitting or standing or walking.
And even if lying down, you can have a sense of a kind of dignity in your repose.
You might imagine a kind of line running through your body down into the center of the earth
and as a straight line running up from the center of the earth through your body and
up and out the top of your head, traveling infinitely into the universe, relaxed and
upright.
In this upright posture, you could experience a natural opening in the area of your chest
and a natural opening of your heart.
and maybe assisting this by gently moving a little here and there in your body to help
your awareness inhabit it.
Letting awareness expand outward into your body as a whole, spreading beyond your body
into the room you're in or the place where you are, helping yourself to feel as comfortable
as you can where you are.
And as you abide openly and spaciously, be aware of resting in the present, recognizing
that you are basically alright right now and now so that any contractions or worries can
fall away as you rest in the immediacy of the present.
See if you can remain aware of the ongoing sensations of breathing, staying in contact
with those sensations in the present without any need to dwell in the past or the future.
If any thought bubbles come along or emotional reactions, let them pass through awareness
without following after them.
See if you can find a sense of being content in the present.
No pressure, if this is not available for you, no worries, but often we can simply open
to feeling content, a sense of thankfulness or gratitude can help us feel content with
the present as it is.
So there is no need to lean into becoming, since being itself in the present is enough.
in the present, receiving, resting in being.
very close to the front edge of now continuously, remaining aware of sensations of breathing,
finding enjoyment in the present, such as feelings of peacefulness or being content,
letting time wash through you as you remain present now.
Can you feel content and at peace in the present?
If not, no worries, and you can gently invite peacefulness and contentment.
