Moving Into Our New Home!!
Good morning from the new house.
Oh my gosh.
We have lived in this house for one week.
Yeah, just over one week.
And I can't believe it, we're in.
I vlogged last week.
I feel like it was just a mess of a week.
It could not have made a single vlog,
but I still kept the footage
because it was moving, it was unpacking.
Like, you know, it's all exciting stuff.
We are officially in.
It's not, everything is unpacked.
There's still so many boxes,
but we've just tried to make it like a livable space
just so we're not like living in so many boxes.
So you can see there's just boxes lined up.
Gabe kind of organized them
according to like the room that they need to go in.
So small like sections of time
when we get chances to unpack,
we're kind of like working on one, one box at a time.
We're in, aren't we, MaiMai?
Milo is having a great time.
Oh my goodness, say hi.
Anyway, it's going to be a fun day.
I need to go out and get some things,
some prints that I ordered for pickup
because I just want to start decorating a little bit.
And I would also really like to go
to like some antique stores maybe
and try and find some little bits to decorate.
All right, before I head out,
I'm going to make my AG1 for the day.
So huge thank you to AG1
for sponsoring this part of the video.
Gabe was actually the one who introduced me to AG1.
He bought it, I think just like using someone's link
because we had just heard so much about it.
If you haven't heard of AG1, it is foundational nutrition.
It's packed with vitamins and minerals,
like so much good stuff, really great ingredients.
Regimers, gluten, dairy, corn, eggs, peanuts,
lactose, sucrose, dextrose.
They have the highest quality ingredients
which makes me feel really good about drinking it.
I like to drink it kind of first thing in the morning
before I eat anything.
I'll make this as I'm like heading out to the gym
and drink it on my way to the gym.
Even on days like this when I'm not working out,
I'll still just like make it in the morning.
Makes me feel really good inside and out.
Like I feel really good that I'm drinking it.
It also is probably the best tasting nutritional
like greens powder that I've ever had.
When Gabe first introduced me to it,
I don't know, maybe I just haven't had
like the best experience with greens powder.
Some of it just doesn't taste very good.
This genuinely, I really liked the taste of it.
So I just put one scoop in about 12 ounces of water.
I also have this 81 bottle that is just perfect.
I like take it along with me.
There are so many benefits for drinking this.
Gut health, immune health, stress and mood balance.
I'm just a huge fan of this company.
One of their taglines too is,
you're gonna need a smaller cabinet.
I think it is like you don't need all of these
vitamin bottles and et cetera.
It like is all jam packed into here.
So if you're interested, use my link.
I will leave it down below.
You can go to drinkag1.com slash Jess Conte.
Ag1 are gonna give you guys a free year supply worth
of this, which we also have.
It's their vitamin D3 and K2,
as well as five Ag1 travel packs.
I love their little travel kits to take out on the go.
And yeah, they will give you that for free
as part of your first order.
So click my link down below.
Thank you again, Ag1.
I'm gonna take this with me to go pick up my things.
I'm really excited to show you the prints that I ordered.
Okay, I have a couple of things on my to-do list
while we're out.
So let's go.
All right, I am out of the house.
I'm going to get, run a couple errands.
But first I thought I would include the moving clips
from last week because it's not enough to make a vlog,
but here are our moving week clips.
Hey guys, it is our last night in this house.
It's just after 6.30.
We've just put Micaiah down
and Gabe and I are just gonna really get to work.
Look, stuff is just everywhere.
We have all of these.
We've already taken a couple,
like every trip that we take to the house,
we take like a box or two.
So this is what we're currently working with.
And then I don't know if you'll even be able to see.
Upstairs, you can't.
That's just the start.
There's so much stuff upstairs.
Tomorrow, someone is going to watch Micaiah
here at the house all day.
So she's gonna take a nap in her pack and play
in her bedroom.
So we can pack everything up in the morning,
pack all her, well, not all her toys.
We'll leave some stuff here
and then leave her stroller here.
So, and like snacks and stuff.
So she can still have pretty much a full day here,
just so we have like the bulk of the day to move.
And then I'll come get her
and then like put her to bed once her,
I just wanna like set up all of her rooms,
set up all of her toys.
That is most important for me at the moment
is to like set up all of her stuff.
And then probably the kitchen.
I feel like the kitchen is like a main thing.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, you know?
So that's my goal for tomorrow.
I'm not cooking tonight.
We just like need to pack everything up.
So I think all the pots and pans are like already packed up.
In the morning, I'll probably just go get everyone breakfast,
like coffees and avocado toast or something from a cafe.
A lot of this is already done.
Might not look like it, but like a lot is empty.
So all of that just needs to go in a box.
I'm gonna find out what Gabe wants for dinner.
Probably pause for dinner and then regroup again
and just like pack like crazy
until probably like nine o'clock.
Look, we're still kind of old parents.
We like to go to bed early.
Our dinner has arrived.
Burger.
It is moving day.
I'm running to a coffee shop to get some drinks
and some breakfast for everyone
because we're just like packing up all the plates,
all the pans already packed up.
Okay, literally the whole entire day has passed
and now we are in a different house.
This was probably the most hectic moving day I've ever had.
Because we were not prepared.
It's like having a baby changes things.
Yes, but also having help with her today,
like we could not have done that
with her just like being around.
Oh, there's no, there's no way.
We are in.
The sun is setting.
It is an absolute mess everywhere.
Micaira's asleep.
It did take her a second to like,
much longer than a second,
probably like 45 minutes to actually want to fall asleep,
which I understand.
Like I was cuddling her in her room
and I was like, this must be really confusing
for all of her furniture in this random place.
Anyway, I think what we're gonna do now
is set up our bed.
We need to have a bed.
Towels, like we need to put up the shower curtain.
All of this can wait.
We need to sleep.
And I'm gonna order some dinner.
I just want to enjoy dinner with you on that couch.
On that comfy couch.
Have you showed them that couch?
No.
I mean, we had this couch.
We've had it since we lived in Florida.
No, but I just mean the area.
This is my favorite room in the house.
We just sat here for maybe 10 minutes
and just enjoyed the view.
Yeah, the sunset.
It's gonna be really beautiful.
Maybe we'll put this up.
Could be fun.
I don't know.
No TV zone.
Just like chill, hang out, play games.
Milo's here.
Milo!
You just had dinner.
So you smell like wet dog food.
Okay, so this is our shower,
which I'm so excited to shower in.
But as I said, we don't have shower glass coming yet.
So this is our-
This is our not long after shower curtain.
Here, pull that one way to the side.
Sick.
I mean, it'll be fine.
Keep it on this side and then-
Yeah.
These are medicine cabinets,
which I love because it's just extra storage.
So I'm gonna start unpacking.
Kind of like daily skincare.
♪ Always be calm ♪
I have been so excited to move in
so we could put this piece of like this art print up.
I have been looking at this website
that does really nice Bible verses
for like months and months and months.
And I was like, when we like have a house,
like once we move into a house,
I'll get like a really nice print done of a Bible verse.
So we got this Bible verse custom done.
My parents purchased it for us as like a housewarming gift.
Every time I look at it, I remember that it was from them.
Okay, I got this frame from a place
called The Poster Store, I think.
Look at this frame.
The only thing is, is that it is slightly,
slightly smaller than this print, but that is massive.
I really want it somewhere that like
everyone will see it a lot.
By the way, we made the bed and I'm so excited.
Like that just makes me feel so much better
that we have a ready-made bed for us to hop into.
Whether you eat or drink, whatever you do,
do it all for the glory of God.
It's such a cool place to have in the home.
Why was that the most satisfying thing
I've ever done in my life?
That looks so good.
How awesome.
Hello, it is the end of day two, pretty much.
I mean, it's around five o'clock.
Gabe and I had a podcast recording today
and then we had to go make copies of the house keys.
And so I'm only getting to unpacking now.
I'm going to do as much as I can
when Micaiah goes down to sleep.
But right now I'm just going to try to find some homes
for the cups.
There were cupboards either side here
and we took them down just to open it up a little bit.
And we're putting lights either side,
which I love how it looks,
but that's obviously probably where
I would have put cups and mugs.
We still have a lot of storage.
Like we have big pantries.
We have a little like bar area over there.
So I'm not too concerned.
I'm just like, I'm trying to figure out the best place
to put cups and mugs.
Cause I don't want it too low
that people are like bending down.
I will show you a section of our pantry.
So we have two of these, which is really nice.
And I feel like this would be a good place
for cups and mugs.
And then this can still be like full of pantry
because then this side is still like full pantry as well.
Also, this is a new sample of some podcast merch,
which I have been so excited for this.
This is like my favorite piece.
I got this in a large
and I wish I had gotten it in an extra large.
So I'll probably reorder it.
We just feel so peaceful here.
The view is amazing.
Gabe and Micaiah were just outside
and there was a deer outside.
It's just so cool.
Okay, I'm checking back in
and I just need to show you the progress.
I don't know if I fully showed you
what the kitchen looked like before.
It was an absolute mess.
And it's like, this almost looks like a normal kitchen.
Just looks-
Can we talk about Milo's dog food placement?
Yes.
We have two seasoning drawers
and they just happened to fit perfectly.
And we're not using this one.
Our seasoning's in the other one
and I have plenty of room over there.
So I was like, is that weird if we put this here?
So, so far, this has still got a lot of room.
So I think that's where I'm going to keep them
just because it's not-
It's kind of like perfect height
for people to come and get a cup.
Anyway, this is where I'm going to put my baking supplies.
It's going good.
Gabe and I are going to go to bed.
Gabe has personal training at like seven in the morning.
So I just want to get like a full sleep
and be up and showered and like ready for the day
before he leaves for the gym, probably at like 6.45.
So we're going to head to bed.
I'm going to read, but this is exciting.
We also have guests coming over tomorrow.
So I really want to make sure that
this is like in a nice state.
So like we can have tea and coffee, not in like a pig style.
It is the end of day three, I think.
And I feel like this is all I did today.
Building this thing.
I never want to build anything like this ever again.
It took me so long.
Anyway, now it's all done and in place.
I'm going to fill it up with her toys.
I feel like she has so many toys now.
So many books, so many soft like teddies.
Like it would be overwhelming to be in here
and it's just getting messy.
So I really want to kind of rotate them out
and put them in here and kind of like make it
more exciting for her to like come
and see something different.
Hey, look.
All right, but I had some dinner.
I'm just like so emotional tonight.
So on top of my time of the month,
it was also my first day ever not breastfeeding Micaiah.
I'm surprised I got that out in one sentence.
I'm not going to, this isn't the point of the video.
I don't need to like get all emotional again.
And then I also listened to a song
and then I made Gabe listen to it.
And I was already like bawling at this point.
I don't even remember what it's called.
I'm going to put it up here.
Just don't listen to it if you're like
a very emotional person like me.
It was amazing, but it just like made me
really, really emotional.
This is for Milo.
Wanted to get him like a comfy, cute bed,
but like this area where he can lay.
So I got this off Amazon
and I think it's going to be really cute.
This is your house warming present.
Oh my goodness.
It's like he knows.
Okay.
It might need to like take some time to like fluff up.
What is it, Mimo?
Do you like it?
Can you sit?
Stay.
Good boy.
It is a big flower.
It's actually really comfy.
Look, you go in.
That's your bed.
That's Mimo's bed.
Good boy.
It's the exact same color as him.
Sit.
Good.
Okay.
I feel like the pictures on Amazon were way cuter
and like more of an actual flower,
but maybe it just like needs time to get in place.
You like it?
It's your bed.
All right.
I just stopped by Walgreens.
I did a little photo like pickup order last night,
by the way.
Walgreens have really, really quick printing.
I think it was ready within like an hour or two last night.
So I'll show you what I got.
I got all of these off Etsy, by the way.
If you're looking for really cool prints,
this is a really cool, affordable option.
You just do it yourself.
You get it printed.
So, okay, the first one,
it is a print with how great thou art,
like the lyrics down here, but sorry.
Hope you can see this okay.
It's so pretty.
That will just look really pretty.
I'm like searching for vintage frames,
like really cool antique frames to put this stuff in.
The next thing I got was a Fruits of the Spirit print.
And I thought this could be cute maybe in the kitchen
cause it's like all different types of fruit.
So there's that one.
The last one is another pretty print
and it's of Psalm 121, verse one to two.
I lift up my eyes to the hills
from where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.
It's just really pretty.
So I think that'll look cute like up on a shelf.
Okay, first things first is I have so many bits of flooring
in the back of our car and they are so heavy.
And when I just broke before,
they like came forward and hit my chair and kind of hurt me.
So I need to go return these.
So I need to go to floor and decor, but they're so heavy.
Like I'm gonna need some people to come help me.
I don't even think I'd be able to lift them.
And then once they are returned,
I'm going to go to a couple antique stores,
look for some frames and some little decor bits.
But frames are definitely the number one thing
that I'm trying to find today
because I have so many bits of art
that I don't have frames for.
And I feel like putting up prints and art
will make such a difference in the house
and really make it look homey.
First things first, we're gonna go to floor and decor.
I hope they can take this flooring off me.
Yay, they're gone.
So, so happy about that.
So now I'm gonna go to a couple antique shops.
I'm excited.
I haven't gone to any antique stores
since moving to Nashville.
And I feel like there'll be some really cool stuff.
So I came to this big antique mall
and it's kind of like this big building,
like a warehouse kind of thing.
And it was 12,000 square feet of just antique booths.
There was so much to go through
and I feel like you really need to go into somewhere like
that when you have a lot of time.
And I could tell I was spending a lot of time in there
and then I started to get anxious.
And I was like, why do I get anxious?
When I feel like I'm in a place for too long.
Maybe being a mom, I'm like, oh my gosh,
I need to get back to Micaiah.
Or maybe it's like, oh, I'm wasting time.
I don't, I can't tell.
I'm trying to like self reflect and be like,
why do I feel that way?
I spent $45 in there.
I will show you what I got a bit later.
She wrapped it up.
So I'm just like, I don't want to unwrap it in the car
and then have to wrap it back up.
I'm gonna head now to one of my favorite little
Aussie coffee shops, which is in the area that I'm in.
And then head to our old house.
Gabe is going there right now with a U-Haul.
Gabe knew that today was my filming day
and that I was like going out to get some stuff
for the house.
So he didn't want to like bother me,
but I was like, let me come to the house
and help you do this.
Cause otherwise it's going to take him so long.
That was fun.
I do feel like it started to get a bit much at the end.
I was like, oh, okay.
I mean, 12,000 square feet.
That's the biggest antique shop I've ever been in.
All right.
This is the situation.
Hello.
Still need to sell the couch.
Got some things here.
And then I think just some stuff upstairs.
Hello.
Some more stuff up here.
Okay. I am so sweaty now.
There is no way it's 107 degrees.
No. Okay.
It must be 107 Fahrenheit in the car right now.
That's what my car is saying.
It says 95.
So with the humidity, it feels like 103 Fahrenheit.
Up at Celsius, of course.
Oh my gosh.
What a sweaty day to keep moving out.
But I've filled up the car a little bit.
The boot is full.
I need to stop by a donation bin to put some donations in.
Gabe has entrusted me with some of his Lego.
And I don't know how well you can see that.
He has buckled them in.
He has given me instruction.
Like, don't break too hard.
Don't move anything around.
Well, I said, don't break too hard
because they could go flying forward.
And then I said, wait, nevermind.
I'll put the seatbelt on.
Baby on board.
Yes. Literally baby Yotas back there.
Be very careful.
Okay. Bye, bub.
Oh, he is so funny.
We are actually getting like a storage cabinet
to display his Lego.
I think we have mentioned this
maybe on our Jess and Gabriel channel,
but we haven't ordered it yet.
We need to.
We're just kind of looking for the perfect cabinet.
That's not, you know, so expensive.
You know, like dark movie room that we have.
We are going to display them.
And I was just saying
it's actually going to be a highlight of the house.
Like I think people love to go in there.
Oh my gosh.
I have a Sula.
Sula, sweaty up a little bit.
Don't try and hide it, honey.
We've got ourselves a Sula.
Sweaty up a little bit.
All right.
I'm back home.
I don't know.
It's so cool filming in here.
It's just all still like so new to me.
So it's just like exciting.
I know like behind me is totally backlit,
but I'm sitting in my room.
It's so exciting.
Just having some banana bread.
I thought now would be a good time for me to show you
what I got from the antique store.
Paid $45.
The most expensive thing that I bought was $15.
I feel like this antique mall that I went to
was actually really well priced
compared to the first one that I went to.
I walked in and kind of knew immediately.
Like I was looking at the small things
and it was very expensive.
This whole like massive kind of market,
antique market was much more affordable.
The first thing that I got was this little juicer.
I saw it.
This might've been the first thing I saw when I walked in
and I took a picture of it to go back to it.
So this was $15.
And I just think that'll be cute up on,
we have like a little ledge.
It's not like a deep shelf.
So I can't put like plates and bowls and stuff on it.
It's just a little ledge for some decor.
So this should fit.
It'll be really cute.
Also functional.
I can juice a lemon.
Then, oh my gosh, I'm so excited about this.
I think Gabe will love this.
I'm excited to show him.
So they were selling these little like
scrabble letter holders for $4.
And I think this is such a great gift idea.
And so I think I'll go back
if I like figure out something
like a certain gift for somebody.
I don't know, like if someone has a baby,
this would be really cute.
Or if someone's getting married,
you could do their last name.
But basically they were selling
scrabble letters for 25 cents each.
So I got two different options.
The first option I got, I'll show you.
Also, I bet I spent half an hour
searching through these scrabble letters.
It was so hard to find an H, H.
But I was determined and I just kept going.
This seriously would be such a cute gift idea
and so affordable because this thing is only $4
and then the letters are 25 cents each.
Okay.
This is the first thing.
Just says the Contis.
Like how cute would that be up on the shelf?
You know, near the entryway or something.
I think it's so cute.
I was also trying to think of like, you know,
a favorite quote or a favorite Bible verse
that you could kind of like fit
like a little phrase on here.
The second option,
we have really wanted a name for this house.
We visited some friends and his childhood house,
they called the White House
and everyone was kind of like,
oh, you're going to the White House?
You're going to the White House?
Because it's literally like a big White House.
We just thought that was so cute
that everyone like referred to the house
instead of just like,
are you coming to my house?
Do you know what I mean?
Or are you going to Stacey's house?
So we had a couple options for house names
and we came to this.
The Hill House is the name of this house.
You know, we own some land,
we've got a beautiful view.
So we've called it the Hill House.
So that was kind of my first option.
The H's took me so long to find and there's two.
Our guest bedroom isn't set up yet.
It'd be really cute if there was like a shelf
or a dresser to set this on
and you personalize their names.
Like for each guest that comes in, we'll see.
But I thought that was super cute, really cute idea.
The other two things I got are two frames, which is great.
I definitely needed to find way more frames than that,
but I just didn't want to go to a different store
and you know, it'll be for another day.
I was out for too long.
So this is the first one,
just like a nice old thin wood frame.
And then a slightly bigger one,
just again, like a nice kind of like old wooden frame.
So it's like picking which one I want to frame first.
I'm gonna do this one because that'll fit in nicely.
I feel like, you know, this kind of like old painting style
will match well with this frame.
It's also just so cool.
Everything I was looking at, I was like,
I wonder who this belonged to.
You're just gonna get deep looking at antique stuff
because there was so many old pictures
and old paintings of people.
It's just so crazy.
Life.
Life is a highway.
Been a really good day.
It is so hot.
I think I was saying that in the car.
It's a really hot day here, but it is almost September,
which means it's almost autumn.
And I just cannot wait for autumn.
Good morning.
It is Friday.
It's kind of the end of week two of living here
because we moved in last Tuesday.
And I thought I'd just give you a little update
on some stuff because I forgot to film last night.
So Gabe and I took a trip to Home Goods
and I was looking for some more frames.
I actually found a little kind of table
for our front like foyer, which I kind of want to make
like a pretty catch-all station.
And then we also got another frame.
This one was also there, which was so cute.
I might print out like a family photo and put it in there.
How pretty is that?
So this one I'm gonna put up probably right there.
It is the fruit of the spirit print
with the pieces of fruit on it.
And I just think it's so sweet,
the like with the bits of fruit on it.
So that'll be really cute in the kitchen.
There it is.
It's so cute.
And then this is our guest room.
Not much is going on right now,
but we just got this ready for Gabe's parents.
They are coming in a couple of hours.
So we've set this up, but it will look different eventually
once we have a bit more time to kind of like unpack.
But so far it's really cute.
I'm just wondering, we have this frame TV
and I'm wondering if we should put it on that wall.
I mean, it fits, but it wouldn't be like centered
to the bed.
So I don't really know how I feel about that at the moment,
but I do love having a TV in the guest bedroom.
We had that in Florida and it got used a lot.
Like when guests would come and just kind of like
go to bed for the night,
they'd be able to like watch something on the TV.
Exciting things are happening.
We are just so excited to be here
and excited to fully unpack.
Our room is still a mess and just still a blank slate.
I just want to take it slow
and like we'll get there eventually.
We'll unpack and I just want everything
to be intentional, you know?
I don't want to just get something to put up there.
Like just because we need something up there,
I really want it to like make sense in the room.
Thank you so much for all the support
and everyone really excited
and everyone that's enjoyed the Reno series on Instagram.
It just really means a lot.
Anyway, don't forget if you want to check out AG1,
I will leave that link down below.
I love it.
You guys will love it too.
All right, I will see you next week.
Bye.
