Hi everybody, it's Shashana with Action
News's fitness tip. I'm at the AB
apartments in King of Pressia. Grab some
light hand weights. I've got a Pilates
inspired exercise that I want you to
try. Listen, Pilates is all about slow,
controlled movements and specifically
core engagement. Right? So, that's
exactly what we're going to focus on
today. You're going to come flat on your
back. Also, your breath is really
important when you're doing exercises
like that, right? Controlling your
breath. Inhale. Exhale. So, bringing the
legs up into a tabletop position. I
don't want your knees into your chest. I
want them d the knee directly underneath
your hips. Arms are up straight to
start, right? So, there's going to be
some tension in the shoulders during
this
exercise. You're going to pull the belly
in. Flatten your back against your mat.
You're going to crunch up, lifting the
shoulder blades up. Right. Core feels
it. We're gonna lower down the arms,
taking them out to the side, breathing.
Inhale, exhale, lift, and then slowly
lower. So, we lift, inhale, and then we
exhale, lower. Going out and in, and up
and back down. Listen, you are
definitely going to feel this in the
core. Really focus on slow, controlled
movements. And back down. So, we lift.
We I love this. We lower.
We bring it in and back up. This is not
an exercise that you need to do fast.
You can take your time. Go out and in.
And just focus on that core engagement.
Okay? I want you to try to aim for
anywhere from 12 to 15 of these. Okay?
And you're really going to feel it. And
come back down. Now, listen. You want to
add another layer to it. Sure. So, you
complete this combination exercise.
Then, on your very last rep, even if you
only get to 10, that's okay, right?
Right? If you're burning and you're at
10, then that's where you add this extra
layer. So, we're going to hold here and
we're just going to crunch and crunch
and crunch and really just pull the
belly in. Press that spine into the
floor. Oh, she burning. She's burning.
The arms are burning, too. What is this?
Oh, we love it though. We love it
though. We love it though. We do. And
just work to the best of your ability.
This is
phenomenal. You're going to love it.
shoulders, abs. It's slow. It's
controlled. You really can work at your
own pace. You could do it anywhere. I
love it. I hope you love it, too. Keep
your body moving. You'll always, always,
always feel better that you did.
