Cat in a tree rescue - Henry

Following a busy few weeks of cat-in-tree rescues, I have edited a video. Henry, a 10-year-old rescue cat who had been strictly indoors for eight to nine years, was let out by contractors and fled up a neighbor's tree in a panic. Henry remained in the tree for approximately nine hours, braving multiple thunderstorms. #animalrescue #catinatree #catinatreerescue #treeclimbing #yalecordage
It's your cat. Yeah. My name's Dwayne.
Hi, Dwayne. My daughter said she called
you, too. Yeah, she did. We're all wet
now. Jack. Jack. Pleasure. Jack. Um,
what's your cat's name? Henry. Henry.
And Henry's 10 years old. Yeah.
Normally, under normal circumstances, I
would not go after a cat that hasn't
been in a tree for at minimum 24 to 48
hours because most cats tired. No. Most
cats will climb down on their own within
the first 48 hours. But since Henry is
not an outdoor cat, he's indoor all the
time and he slipped out. He may not even
know where home is if he were to come
down at night. Something like that.
That's what I was going to stay out here
all night if I had to. Oh, bless your
heart. I could.
Yeah, I know. And that's why I came to
today because Thank you so much because
Henry is uh he might not know where home
is. But I do want to give you some
warnings that Henry could jump. Okay? He
could run from me cuz it's much more
likely for a cat that's been in a tree
for only a few hours. They're way more
likely to run from me or to and
sometimes they will jump because their
fear of me is greater than their fear of
jumping. Okay? And usually after a
couple of days they if they're still up
there usually they climb down but if
they're still up there after a couple of
days they were are more accepting of
help from a stranger. Okay. But uh I'm
going out of town tomorrow morning. So
I'm coming here to help you guys and
help help Henry out tonight and we'll
see what happens. Okay.
Um I appreciate but I want you to know
that he could jump out of the tree. I'm
not going to try to scare him out of the
tree but he may he may jump. Okay.
Hey, Henry. It's okay,
buddy.
Henry, he's growling. Henry, it's okay,
buddy. It's okay, Henry. It's okay,
buddy.
It's okay, Henry. He's going up.
Yeah, he has. Henry, it's okay. Henry,
kitty, kitty, kitty.
Okay, be quiet.
Is that where he was before?
Yeah, it's too soon. This is why I us
why I usually wait.

It's okay, buddy.

Hey,
Henry. There he
goes. Yeah, he's not going to let me get
him.
[Music]

Woo! Woo!
[Music]
I got to get both of his front legs
through
that. I can't see if his front leg is
through it or not.
Is one of them through it?
This won't hurt him. I'm not squeezing
him. Okay. I just got to get him in the
[Music]
net. I got him.
[Music]
He's a big cat. What's he weigh? 19 20
lbs. Okay, let's get down without
bumping him around too much.
Yeah. Walk the pole back so it doesn't
slam into the ground.
Oh my gosh.
You know, if you let him out, he
probably go straight back up, wouldn't
he? Yeah. You don't want to let him out
outside. Okay. Can Let's take him in.
I'll show I got to open the net.
Henry did not want to see me. No, he
tried. He actually did try to come down
and then he almost fell because it was
pouring down rain. Yeah, he was scared.
How long ago did you get Henry?
I would
say seven years ago. Oh, so he's been
living the happy indoor life for a long
time. Once he got in, he did not want to
go back out. Yeah. Then that f they were
building over here and I think somebody
let it somebody's and Oh, were they
redoing this room here? Yeah, this is a
room they were redoing.
He wants Henry. It's okay, Henry. It's
okay, Henry.
Henry, you got to let me open the net,
buddy.
[Music]
He is gone. Yep. He's out of here. He'll
be all right though. Yeah, he'll be
fine. I'm going to go clean my stuff up.
Okay. What are we talking about money? I
never asked for anything.
Oh, but no. What would she do for you? I
mean, it's a wonderful thing.
Okay. Is it we decide how much we pay
you or I just never I never ask for
anything. You don't have to give me
anything. But can we give you something?
You if I'm I will say no at least twice
and then Okay. How's that? Twice. Can we
give you something? If you must. Okay.
How much? How much would a must be? I
don't know. I don't I don't ask for
anything. I would never turn anyone
away.
That was
pretty bad.
