I feel like anti-chunk pressure.
Say again?
I have anti-chunk pressure.
You can get away with hitting them a little thin.
You just got to rotate a little bit more.
Yeah, exactly.
Look at that.
Tucked myself into it.
Already hitting the high one?
Well, decided to hit a full one.
Already warm.
Nice.
A little wind off the right.
You get some draws.
Alright.
One solid one.
Go through a normal warm-up here.
Go to the eight?
Eight iron.
Yeah.
Nice.
Body looks pretty good.
Not quite for me.
That's a good sign.
A draw?
Cut and draw feel good.
Draw's nice and high.
You're just showing off.
It's a little intimidating to do this after you win your 82nd time.
Look like you're moving well.
Yeah, so I got both.
Yeah.
And high, too.
Means you got some speed.
That's nice, dude.
Looks like it's working right.
Got the yanks.
Think I'm going to switch.
What do you got?
Going up to six already.
That's aggressive.
I only have so many balls.
Nice.
Nice and cleared on all those.
No flippy.
Alright, I'll send one up.
Yeah.
Put one down.
Those look perfect.
Good day to test.
Good day today.
Kind of got everything.
That's the fear shot.
You got some speed today.
Is that six iron?
Four.
My normal warm up.
Yeah, yeah.
Which is why your
grooves always wear out on the
Correct.
Evens.
Yeah, man.
What are you
You feeling anything
different or the same from Japan?
Pretty much.
I'm not
clearing as well as I did in Japan.
Yeah.
Well, you haven't hit too many since then, but
swing wise it looks
Definitely hit it straight.
Yeah, yeah.
It looks nice and
I think a
neutral position.
I think this lie is slightly downhill.
I know that's what I was feeling.
I had to move it back a little bit.
Kind of want you to hit the
downhill low draw.
Exactly.
I played that one up to
kind of get normal height.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's see if we got a draw on us.
All right.
Trying.
Yeah, it's coming.
I'm not sure for it.
Yeah.
At least it's not going the
opposite way.
Correct.
Moving the first time.
Try to get
a little bit more
across the line there.
Yeah.
Get that draw going.
Yeah.
It never fails to.
I always notice whenever
you're going to hit a draw,
you always
drop the foot.
No, I'll drop the foot,
but then also open the face
just a tiny bit.
You got to start right.
It's like one degree
to the right every time
and then same with a fade.
You go opposite.
Slightly close.
Start left.
It's unbelievable
how you do that every time.
You don't even really
seem to think about it much.
You just kind of do it.
Well, the draw needs
to start over there,
so the face got to be open.
Yeah.
Continue to start left.
The face needs to be closed.
It just seems like
so many guys today
kind of try to do it
more with path.
Like keep everything square
and then kind of do it
with path versus.
Yeah, I do a little bit
of it with path.
Sure.
But yours is,
you know, you're helping
it a little bit.
Almost making sure
it goes
that direction
and not a double cross.
Alright, let's see
if I can hit one flat.
Yeah.
I think you're cheating though.
On the downhill lie,
that shot's easy.
Alright, I'll hit one up then.
You got to go.
If you're going to impress me
in these guys,
you got to go high
off that lie.
Okay.
How's that?
That was more like it.
Brave man.
I brought the 4-iron out.
I probably should have
brought the hybrid thing.
The gapper.
What 5-wood should we hit?
You got 5-wood?
I got 5-wood.
Actually, I'll hit this 3-wood
since I love this thing so much.
How many times you hit that
in Japan?
Not many.
I didn't feel like
they used it much.
Driver and 3-wood.
Yeah.
It wasn't really
a 5-wood course.
It was more of a driver course.
Yeah.
Kind of had to just
shape drivers
versus
getting 5-wood into play.
Except, of course,
on 18.
I guess you did use it
some critical times.
5-wood, 5-wood, right?
That was 5-wood, 5-wood.
Yeah.
It was just one of those weeks
where it was just like
more of a driver
and a 3-wood course.
Yeah.
The bunkers were kind of
all in the right
spots there.
Nice, man.
Afraid to hit
3-wood off the downhill side,
he'll lie.
I'm just going to try
to stay at least
one full club ahead of you.
So let me know
when you switch to 3-wood
and I'll go to driver.
I just tried that
new 3-wood.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
The
blue version.
How similar
or not similar?
It's a little bit
deeper face.
You see it?
It's this one here.
This is the max, yeah.
This one I hit
so much further.
That's your gamer?
Yeah.
It's just shallower.
Yeah.
Well, the
max is that
It's a deeper face.
Yeah, exactly.
It's like this M6,
you know.
So, in terms of the
head shape.
It's amazing how much
higher that goes
when you tee it up
a little bit.
Carrying.
We're also hitting.
Oh, there's the
high spinning one.
Switch to driver soon.
So it's not a huge
difference between your
landing zone and mine.
Yeah, my
3-wood was about 270,
280.
Yeah.
It's crazy though
to think that if you wanted
though you could
try to set one up
with a
longer shaft.
You know what
kind of most guys
on tour have
and a little stronger
and probably could
carry a 290
if you wanted.
That's nice.
It's a little curve.
Amazing.
Always amazed me how
well you can curve
the 3-wood.
It got more loft.
Yeah, even versus
the driver.
That's your shot, baby.
Hit down on it.
I think that was
zero.
Is that your own
driver or is that
mine?
Terrible golf swing.
It's crazy.
I always have to
line up the driver.
Where'd you go
the first time?
Aimed too far left.
One ball up.
That's why I hit
over the top of 9.
Yeah.
That was like that
drive on it.
You seemed like you had
to hit that shot
every day, right?
On 9.
Because the wind
never really mattered.
It wasn't going far
but I could hit it high.
Yeah.
When you needed it
to kind of land soft
to hold that fairway
because guys were
just all going into
the right trees
and a little bit of a mess.
You're staying
behind it nice.
launching it that way
but it doesn't go that far.
Right.
Stay in the air
and turn over.
Just talking about
Japan for
you know,
the driver.
I mean,
he did have to
hit it a lot there.
You know,
and there was a few
scary kind of
tee shots
like on 4.
Sort of an awkward
what was the tee shot?
Were you hitting?
I assume you were
hitting fade.
I started over the water.
Out in the water.
Right.
Slicing it.
I mean,
show me one of those.
What was like the
you know,
the look of that tee shot?
That?
Okay.
That's why I was like
40 yards behind.
50 yards behind Rory.
Right.
You were just making sure
you hit a fade into play.
Yeah.
I just didn't want
to hit in the water.
Where were you having
in from there?
Like 3-iron?
3-iron, 4-iron.
I was so far behind the guys.
Yeah.
Just keep out of the water,
make par,
and move on.
Were some of the guys
trying to draw it
around that tree
that was kind of
in the middle of the fairway?
Yeah.
I went left of the tree
with a cut.
Okay.
But other guys went
kind of right of the tree
with a draw or at it?
If you go to the top
of the tree
and hit a straight ball,
you can get another
40 out of it.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's aggressive.
I was hitting that
one right there.
Yeah.
Not far, but short, straight.
Yeah.
My 3 would go further than that.
Were you hitting that
anywhere else out there
on that course
or was that pretty much
the only one?
I had to hit it on
that par 5.
The 7th or whatever?
Yeah.
6 hole.
6, right,
after the par 3.
And then I hit that
little shot on 8.
Same thing.
Oh, yeah.
Because the hole
kind of went that way.
You were hitting
driver off 8?
I hit a couple times.
Oh, wow.
I thought you just
hit 3 wood.
That little kind of
spinny thing.
Yeah, the get and play ball.
Well, it's important
to have that.
Turn one over here.
Okay.
Awesome.
It's amazing how much
further that ball goes.
I know.
My little slicer,
it goes so short,
but I can control it.
Yeah.
Well, especially
against this wind.
I mean, you slice it up
against the wind,
which is, you know,
you're going to cost
yourself 10 yards
and kind of riding it
otherwise.
Because I end up
hitting down on it
so much.
Oh, that's beautiful.
Why don't we go
with one last good
stock one.
Kind of to finish.
Bombs away.
You want to keep
hitting draw
since you're feeling
draw today?
I can hit a draw.
Yeah.
Why don't we go
one high bomb draw.
One go.
Kind of step on it.
Oh, yeah.
Saw that right foot
go back.
I knew it was going
to be big.
I thought so, yeah.
Yeah.
That was good.
Thanks for making
me look bad.
