The World Doesn't Rate FILIPINO FOOD?! Most Underrated Cuisine in Asia

Hello guys, welcome back to Cebu and you are just in time because we are about to have a Filipino grill feast, fiesta, extravaganza, electrifying. Hey, how's it going? Oh this looks good, smells amazing. This song in the background, I can't let you listen to too much of it because of copyright but if you can just about make it out. We have heard this song in the Philippines so many times, I feel like it's the most played song in the Philippines. Anyway, how nice is this? Look, they've got this whole grill station here right, I was gonna say right on the beach, a little bit away from the beach but in this kind of pool area as well so you can just have delicious Filipino grilled barbecue food in and out of the pool right near the beach, you can hop down there. Beautiful, very much looking forward to this. Oh it's super warm today and I'm wearing this like rash guard thing to help my skin in the sun not get too sunburned which is so good but makes me a bit warm and I'm wearing it to lunch because we're going to go swimming straight after so very hungry, looking forward to this lunch. Chicken, pork and fish on the barbecue with some lovely sides in the sun, actually in the shade but looking at the sun, looking at the blue skies, it's super nice and it's just nice they've got like an open kitchen here right next to the pool so it's a literal made to order and it feels like a real kind of barbecue that you get at a street food market but it's as part of the hotel which is cool. I've had the mango shake pretty much every day since we left Manila and I'm not complaining. Koda is a big fan of the mango shakes here. Okay, so cute. Can daddy try some? Now. Can daddy try some of that please? Oh you've bitten the straw, have you? Do you remember that time I said you don't need to bite straws? Did you bite it? You don't need to bite it. Can daddy try? Daddy will wait. Can daddy try? Ah, feed daddy, yeah? Thank you. So good. We always ask for our mango shakes with no milk, no sugar, no yogurt, just the mango. It's a mango smoothie really because the mangoes are just so good. You just blend them up, a bit of ice maybe. So delicious. That's me. That's you, yeah. Can you see yourself on the screen? Hi me. People ask him his name now and he actually can just tell them and people ask say how are you and he says I'm good. More, more. Yeah, I know he's had so much of it. More. More? There's loads there. Amazing, thank you. Wow, so this is the Aloha something chicken and it's chicken and pineapple skewers. How yummy. I love cooked pineapple. We've also got a side with some vegetables and sauce here and a little saucery thing. Let's give it a go. Oh my god, so good. Straight off the barbecue. I literally watched him take it off and bring it over. That flavor with the pineapple is so good. I've never had pineapple in a barbecue in the Philippines. Me neither. Wow. Thank you. Thank you. To wash it down with fresh coconut. Perfect. And now we've got the grilled bangus and I don't actually know what's with this, George. Did you order this? There's like onions and what's that yellow thing? Oh very nice, thank you. And then this is the pork barbecue which they said is their best seller. Oh really? They said it's the best, the best thing they do here for the barbecue. Well it's the rice. I need the rice. I need rice in my life. Thank you. Maybe over at the end and we'll work around. Thank you. We'll work through. Okay I'm gonna try. Oh thank you. I'm gonna try some of this bangus. Yeah I think it's got like white onion, red onion, some salt and pepper maybe. Some crispy garlic I think. But nice meaty fresh white flaky fish. So good. It's so, bangus is so meaty it almost doesn't taste like fish. True. It's almost like more like chicken or pork or something. And it absorbs the flavor so well. Oh it really does. It reminds me of island trips that we've done in the Philippines. So cool Koda can just like share the food we eat now. Oh he's eating so much. Yeah. I'm also going to get involved in the pork barbecue as it is the best seller. I can see why. It's got that slightly sweet glaze that they use often in the Philippines for pork. But also that charred kind of taste on the edges which kind of balances out the sweet and the savory. With I think some garlic on here as well. And they leave all the fat on so like the fat is just, I don't know, it's just juicy. It's delicious. The best kind of food to eat out in the sun. I don't know if you heard that. Lucy just said I need a beer now. We should. We haven't really been drinking that much. Had a few cocktails here and there. Yeah. But like a San Mig would be pretty good right now. So just after eating loads of, there's an event going on. Can you hear that? After eating loads of lunch the first thing you want to do is float in a pool. I think you're going to sink. I might sink. I mean no offence nothing personal. No I think you might be right. After that meal. So that was really good food and now yeah we're going to come for a swim in the pool. Cool off a little bit because it's a hot one today. And then we've got dinner reservations. Of course we're always talking about food. Then we need to get ready for dinner. Yeah. I think we're going to head over to the kids club later as well. I've got a little kids club here and also the rooftop upstairs, obviously the rooftop, has got an amazing 360 view of the island and we're going to be there for sunset. So yeah loads more to show you in this vlog. But first we're going to take a dip. I don't know how deep it is. Big step. Wow. Go in the swimming pool. Ready, say three, two, one. Can you jump? We pulled the steering wheel off. This is where we were. This is where we're going. Not sure. Afternoon. Evening. Rooftop bar. Good afternoon. Oh this is nice. Wow. Wow. Wow. What? Guys look at this. Okay let me give you a little 360 pan here. That is spectacular. Let me show you. Oh this is so cool. Lucy this is really weird. I'm getting Europe vibes. Or Dubai. No I'm getting like Spain. Yeah. Or like this is like very European here and with the mountains in the distance over there. Let's go and show you this view as well. Let's go and have a look here. Wow. This is so cool. They've got like a big fire going and we can just get this aerial view over all these people's houses. This is so cool. I feel exactly like a drone. Yeah. I'm a little bit nervous to hold this camera over this balcony but wow. Yeah I'm not sure what they're doing. They're like burning trees or something. That's a really really big fire down there. Wow this is spectacular. Yeah they said it was 360 and it is unreal. Did not know this was here. Lucy knew it was here. I just don't pay attention. They did tell us it was here and we're gonna have dinner up here this evening which we're looking forward to and the kitchen is right here as well. So sunset is a little cloudy tonight but it's still beautiful and actually the other side where we're sitting has got nicer colors in the sky. Often I find with sunset that where the sun is the opposite side is where you get all like the pink tones and stuff. That's happening where we've sat which is really nice but I've just come over to have another little look at this view because it's just so nice. It actually reminds me of when we were last in Bohol and we stayed at Bellevue and they had a little sunset viewing tower thing. They had like a similar view like this over a little village and it's just cool to get a different perspective. Ordered our food. We've gone for a pasta, a pizza and some chicken. We're eating very well on this trip so far. You may have noticed every vlog's got a lot of food in but food is one of our passions. Travel and food are probably two main passions in life and coffee so yeah we like to explore free food and that's definitely what we're doing. We can actually see like the main Cebu city over there as well behind here. Very cool, not an angle you usually get. Another evening of feeding Koda ice. More ice? Don't care about the second wind or something else to take Did you go swimming? Can you say swimming pool? We're learning where to aim Okay so the pizza, pasta and chicken has arrived. Haven't tried the pasta yet. Pizza is very good, like amazing pizza. Some of the best pizza I've had in ages. Super cheesy and the sun has pretty much set now around us and it's just left the sky this like nice bluey colour. I love nice skies. I really like a good sunset so very happy and we just spoke to George's parents on FaceTime as well which was nice
