Our First Day Back in Manila! (So Many Emotions)

good morning guys good morning welcome to another Vlog welcome to proper day one of our trip here in the Philippines back in our condo we are still feeling how can I say perished is that a little bit too far what does perished even mean yeah we don't feel perished okay we feel slightly worse for wear yeah as we would say in England but we have coffee I've made the journey downstairs to Starbucks hey Dad okay [Music] okay [Music] we're gonna come to the camera I still can't get my head around these vlogging angles this is so strange I need to watch back the last Vlog that we filmed here a year ago anyway we are looking forward to trying out some of the new coffee shops around BGC however Starbucks is very very close for us so we just needed some caffeine in our veins this morning nice and early I say nice and early it is midday because for us in the UK right now the time is 5 a.m so yeah this is kind of like an early start but we're tired from the flight our backs ache we got five or six hours of sleep Coda also got a decent amount of sleep so that's good today we are gonna go we're actually meeting a very special friend today who you guys may or may not recognize I'm guessing that 99 of you will recognize him so that's exciting it's been way too long and we're just gonna go around BGC we're arranging a car so we can get around so we're doing all that yes we are we're going to the mall because of course Lucy has been super organized and got a whole list of everything together that we need that we currently don't have living on top of them very very handy isn't it anyway I must get you your coffee thank you this one oh oh welcome back welcome back yay yay we took our Marshall speaker big one back to the UK so we have no music in here so I'm trying to get this little guy going which was the speaker of the old travel Vlogs so I'm trying to get that hooked up to Bluetooth although it's not working it's been a couple years since we used it but my plan is just to hook him on there and can have some tunes [Applause] [Music] okay Kate is currently asleep so excuse the slight whisper in my voice and we're not used to having a one bedroom place are we um so obviously he was in with us last night he actually slept in our bed last night because he was struggling with sleeping big time and actually I don't even say this in the Vlog yet his top two top four teeth are coming through at once and literally during the first flight we saw the tooth break through the gun so bless his heart like the worst possible timing he did so well yesterday considering and it just couldn't have been yeah it couldn't have been worse timing because imagine teething's bad as it is with babies the worst part is when it goes to the gum and that happened in the middle of a flight a nine hour flight and it was eight hour flight the first one so yeah bless his heart and he's just a bit like red and he's he's a little bit sort of got like a teething rash on his face and he is struggling a little bit less him and that hopefully only lasts a couple more days and then he can be back to his usual bubbly happy chappy self but anyway we'll order some breakfast and we went the foot on smoothie bowls from Shaka I used to get these all the time because it was very close like very close walking distance to our old condo but of course food Panda exists so it doesn't matter that it's nowhere near where we are now yum let's have a look yes that is what I need after all that processed carb heavy airplane food a fresh fruit bowl is exactly what I'm after right now yum okay if you saw the drama of the end of last night's Vlog where we thought we lost our passports on the first day we have the sacred thank goodness the secret package not that sacred package guy you guys are awful right our friend cat also she seriously dropped us off a little tree from Wildflower smells good what is this oh fresh loaf of bread which we can enjoy with our breakfast it's so cool to ReDiscover all the places that we used to get food from we're pretty much here for the food sorry to our friends here but it's more it's more about the food no I'm kidding but I'm about to tuck in to my smoothie Bowl I went for the cloud nine which is my old favorite Oculus how to do things with one hand on the camera banana cacao granola smoothie Bowl coconut look at the size difference I think I did a bit yeah what this is more sturdy this is more solid this is watery fruit to be found yeah so yeah yeah [Music] [Music] ah the old daily commute we are back we are back so we have just picked up a car well we've actually had it dropped to us um our friend Bob from Volkswagen actually said he would lend us a car for the duration of our stay here which don't worry about looking at me George look at the right okay yeah that's a good point because I'm sat on the other side of the car to the UK so I'm readjusting and I haven't driven on this side of the road and I haven't driven obviously in the Philippines for over a year it is very different to the UK so I've got my wits about me yeah huge shout out to Bob big thank you to you and your wonderful team at Volkswagen we just met some of the guys who dropped the car to us they had it all cleaned for us this morning and this is the t-cross which is a calm interested in because it's come up it's in the UK as well and they are extremely popular it's kind of a mid-sized SUV so we can fit code a stroller in the back got him in the car seat and we got plenty of room so yeah really really nice car can't go wrong with a Volkswagen and we are off I can't believe I'm saying this we're off to meet Mike for coffee how normal would that have been one two three years ago yeah but now it's like a huge event no we'd probably already be with Mike and yeah yeah uh but how crazy is that so we're trying out the new what was Arabica sadly Arabica is no more in BGC but it's called ankan now and it's the same building same premises I think some of the same stuff so maybe we'll see some old friends there some familiar faces foreign [Music] this is where we used to park for the gym it's the camera steaming up not quite look at this backdrop of BGC it's been a while it has been a while I wonder if we'll get used to it again like Wonder at what point in these Vlogs we'll stop saying wow this is amazing we can't believe it probably the whole time okay there's all sorted out this is a British boy from used to English weather so we have this little fan blowing for him which we got off Amazon is pretty handy pull the net off this isn't going oh is he yeah bless him and yeah this used to be our gym which was which is now something called Club 99 so very different but I was just saying to Lucy it's amazing we're good to go it's amazing how much I was concentrating driving then we used to just I didn't even used to think about driving here from the old condo which was yeah which was more kind of down that way and then the new one where we are now in McKinley but I was concentrating so much driving on the other side of the road suddenly remember that I don't even have any cash for parking so I have to grab cash just getting used to all the little things again that was so normal but after a year out become things that you forget the small things it's so weird but I did remember how to drive her so that's handy [Music] thank you loads to chat about catch up on so good to see you and so good for you to finally meet Coda it was a little bit sleepy now yeah we'll see you very soon [Music] foreign [Music] okay amazing to see Mike and catch up grab coffee try out the new and can coffee shop I think that's how you pronounce it coffee was very nice and now we are gonna go ahead and get some lunch for us although it is already 5 p.m because of our kind of time difference that we're not with it still trying to adjust to Lucy hasn't eaten much though but you know but you don't feel hungry I feel hungry but I don't know what I want I'm in that weird like when you're really tired you feel a bit sick yeah that's the plane that's the two long flights if you missed the previous Vlog you can see the whole travel Journey the 26 hour Journey we just made from London to Manila wow I can see look in the lens you can see the reflection of buildings yeah so good night in a while yeah and if you've been watching our Vlogs in the UK which so many of you have so thank you you will know that we're not actually used to Scenery like this at all like at all we live in a very flat small Seaside town so to be looking up at the skyscrapers again is just awesome people say so normal yeah so familiar as well for us we can't quite get our heads around it yeah um and now that we're here with Coda who's now having a little nap in his buggy walking along so I think the plan is to get food from soothe which or Shake Shack I don't know oh this is I want unhealthy this is when I wish Vlogs were live we could just like do a little poll um the next clip will be whatever food we decide to go for but we've missed so many other food spots around here the high security I know that's why it's true wow I think people are fed up with us saying it's so surreal but like I know we can't help it we actually can't help it up foreign [Music] chips I just went for a very simple not simple actually it's very delicious smoked Shack [Music] oh my God I'm hungry now amazing well it's even best than I remember the amount of things I've eaten is probably quite scary and worrying actually in my life but it has been a whole year so [Music] another good thing about this unit is that there's a lot more floor space for Coda to cool around than is at home in England isn't there you enjoying it hello although we should maybe get something
