This is Inside Interior. President Trump
took bold action to neutralize threats
from Iran's nuclear program and
successfully brokered a ceasefire
between Israel and Iran, protecting
American lives and securing peace
through strength. Secretary Bergam
joined Fox Business to applaud the
president's leadership and to emphasize
the importance of the president's
American energy dominance agenda, noting
that every barrel of American oil and
every cubic foot of natural gas produced
here at home not only powers our
economy. It weakens the leverage of
authoritarian regimes who rely on energy
coercion to lead. Also during the
interview, he praised the one big
beautiful bill's provisions to secure
our border and grow our economy. It's
really delivering on President Trump's
promises, which is lower taxes, less
regulation, uh, and a and a fast growing
economy. Secretary Bergam joined
President Trump, other cabinet members,
and members of Congress at the White
House to discuss how this groundbreaking
and historic legislation will make life
more affordable for the American people.
This week, Interior announced new policy
steps to speed up the search and
development of critical minerals
offshore. This will strengthen American
leadership by cutting red tape and
streamlining the approval process to
ensure the responsible development of
critical minerals. The secretary issued
two new orders this week. One to
strengthen partnerships with gateway
communities near our national parks and
another to support America's outdoor
recreation industry. Interior also
announced nearly $645 million in payment
in lie of taxes program funding for
2025, helping rural counties and towns
fund everything from public safety to
infrastructure and education. The Trump
administration is committed to
empowering local communities and
ensuring that the federal government is
a strong partner, not an obstacle. The
secretary visited New Mexico for the
Western Governor's Association where he
discussed the future of American energy
and the importance of mining in America.
When we have lowcost energy anywhere in
the world in world history, the
environment gets cleaner when there's
more lowcost energy. People get
healthier, uh, communities get safer,
uh, education gets stronger. There's
just a direct correlation. We have an
exciting special edition of Inside
Interior next week for the 4th of July.
So, be sure to tune in.
