LIV Golf Highlights | 2025 LIV Golf UK by JCB Round 1

Bryson could yet leave Staffordshire in first place overall and we are underway this is Live Golf UK by JCB Sergio on the tier two fared very nicely at the Open last weekend using the first exemption ever offered by the RNA to the Live Golf League and this is a second ago Jason Kokrak of Smash GC captained by Brooks Kapka this was for birdie at 12 back to the tier one our reigning champion both in the Live Golf League and here at the JCB it is John Rahm he ended last season by winning here coming second at the Greenbrier and winning in Chicago to snatch the title from Wako Neiman Ian Poulter one of the three captains of Majestic's GC he starts his day with a wonderful birdie to the roar of the crowd and he just needs arms his back on the ninth Poulter needs a big week a good week because he is currently in that relegation area Adrian Maronk and that's a nice start for the big pole that's the usual low worm burglar from Taylor perfect Neiman at the par five third for birdie well surprise surprise Neiman's at the top of the leaderboard a moment ago Phil Mickelson for birdie at four and that birdie has helped the high flyers into an early lead in the team competition they lead the range goats by one oh well here's Graeme McDonnell his third shot at the short par 4 11th when he didn't have much option there trying to use the slope no almost another man on home territories Richard Bland who needs points he's gained them in the last two events but after each one has slipped down the rankings he's outside the top 24 in 30th that will help and he's tied for the lead here in the Midlands of England on two under par Andy Ogletree is enjoying life at the JCB once again this was for eagle at the 10th and he is two under par one back of the early lead which is held by Wako Neiman now outright this was for birdie at five he needs a solid performance here this week and he started excellently he is three under through his opening four holes this was DJ for birdie at four off to a bad start but that'll help well Matt Jones was only one spot above the relegation places before heroics in Valderrama last time out today he teed off at 10 he parted then a birdie at 11 and Josie is on a roll this was for birdie at the par 4 12 and then even better for eagle still even in the open zones not doesn't feel like he's guaranteed anything going into next season from team ripper so he is playing like a man on a mission here's Bubba for birdie at nine in front of the majestic's arms Neiman at seven Suanne he has in that thick thick rough there this is a nine iron he's going to try and chase it up that hill in front of the green he's a mighty last through that hey boy that's a good shot from there and for the outright lead it's Neiman up in the green back at the seventh to Shambo he has to land this 28 yards on the pins on 32 anything short of that hits the bridge it's going to come right down to the left edge of the green lovely little jerk on the leash there to finish just a lovely watch here for Sergio short pin beautifully can't do it any better trying different shafts on Wednesday on the range I think he went back to the original ones it's not like Bryson to experiment is it that's beautiful stats people will tell you just hit it past this pin don't try and stiff it oh it's right at it well he didn't listen to the stats people Dom that's a foot away this was Patrick Reed's second shot as an 11 got a nice little opportunity ahead of him the upcoming holes chance of a third birdie of his round so far he's remarkable from these situations especially with the clubs he oh that's very good oh beautifully done by Bryson excellent day so far for Patrick Reed who is three under par and here he is off the tee at the par 4 12. Patrick seed off at four earlier on that works 40 footer for eagle and to tie the lead Andy Ogletree at 15. he does quite like playing in the British Isles Andy Ogletree John Rahm has got to make one here he's frustrated so far there it is it's taken eight holes but John Rahm has made his first birdie Lucas Herbert a return to form for the man from Bendigo Victoria Australia that's one way to make birdie at eight and Lucas Herbert 13 feet away for Bryson Bubba Watson climbing up the flagpole there on the left cannot count him out Bryson DeChambeau it's a solid start here at the JCB and Wako on the tee at number 12. 3.13 to the front definitely his strongest part of his game is with this club that was a low one oh got a nice bounce forward too right into the heart of the green and beautiful shot Patrick has been running hot here this was his eagle pup at 12. so he converted that into his second straight this his third shot at 13. more wonderful bunker play from Patrick Reed this was Cam Smith his second at 13. this shot not without risk got a little bit oh i'm not sure why he was frustrated with that that's fabulous great chance for eagle this is just a second ago at 12 Wako Nieman and he joins Patrick Reed on five under par Sam Horsfield was born up the road in Manchester owns a property nearby here he is a member of the golf club and you have to be asked to be a member here and that is a great effort by Sam Horsfield on the ninth he's Tyrell Hatton for birdie Tyrell Hatton so within two of the leaders 35 feet short of this pin gravity should really just do its job they read the first part of it nicely boy that was a difficult putt that is superb from where he was and he converts it won four times in the lift golf league so far could this be win number five for the Chilean this was cam a few moments ago with a knee-high fastball to hit oh boy a ball way above his feet it's just an amazing shot from Cam Smith that's ridiculous that's one for the highlight reel well as Patrick Reed drops back to four under Cam Smith leaps above him to five under par the Aussie having a terrific opening day here well Bubba Watson has more points this season than the last two seasons combined and he's enjoying himself in the English countryside well this will be popular Midlander Lee Westwood for birdie at 11 and it got him to four under par and even at the age of 52 you can have fairy tale weeks an excellent open 7-9 for Phil Windhoff is back trying to cut one in there on a phenomenal line it's got the right weight this was Phil a moment ago for just a second birdie of the day at 17 and count it one of the men on four under is Tyrell Hatton this is his third shot at 15 to par four and really difficult to get the weight right here coming up a steep slope needs to sit oh fabulous effort from down there Bubba over the water at one his second shot beauty Lee Westwood is going at the 13th green and two trying to hit a fade in there ah it's a magnificent shot and a great chance for Eagle for Lee Wako on the tee at 18 his round will finish at one wanting it to get left oh carries it though up top Adrian Marank the Polish prince long overdue a return to form and he's got it to five under par this was John Rahm a moment ago at 16 this was Marock off the tee at 12 oh boy that is close to the that's aggressive the water by the skin of his teeth this is Tom McKibben the birdie at 18 a few moments ago and that got Legion 13 above the Majestics into second place now Adrian Marock to tie the lead at 12 the birdie and Adrian Marock is re-emerging as a force here now this is a big moment for the Majestics and for Lee Westwood to end with a par on 15 oh that's good stuff well he deserved that and it's a an opening round of 66 for Lee Westwood five under par I mean Brandon Grace has just found something the last two outings and this is just great to see world-class player for a long time has been in a slump tied for the lead so Adrian Marock Wako Neiman Brandon Grace tied for the lead on six under par great days for Bubba Watson Carlos Ortiz and Lee Westwood as well what about the team competition well Legion 13 who are in first place overall they were victorious last time out in Andalusia and they share the lead 11 under with Louis Oosthuis and South African Stingers and Wako's Torquay from us all here for the JCB goodbye for now
