Night of a Million Lights at Give Kids the World - Media Preview Event!!

hi this is josh and jenna with resort tv one and tonight we are at give kids the world here in orlando it's gorgeous wow look at this i mean this mushroom behind me and all the lights there are going to be over 3 million lights here eventually and we're going to take you on a tour of the first 1 million they are about one third finished and we're going to take you on a tour of some amazing lights so we hope you enjoy the video so in the description of the video is going to be a link to donate to this amazing cause and in november and december you are going to be able to come out here anybody who's here in the orlando area can come out and tour this place for just 25 and when i show you what's involved here is more than worth that price but also because your money is going to a good cost along to the link below if you can do so all right so we are in the magic room where the lights are put together and sent out ready to be decorated here on the village so this is really exciting so what we're going to do now around here is we're going to take these empty light sockets and we're going to put these blue lights in here i'm glad we got to do blue one of my favorite colors come on pink oh this works this works yes this is gonna be great but if you look around the room here there are all these different colors all around this is cool you got blue blue white twinkle yellow twinkle he said there's like two million lights in here which is insane all the different things this is crazy so cool so everybody is putting some lights in and helping out all right here comes jenna putting her first light bulb in there you got it yep i love the osborne light shirt thank you i have a hat yes it's very important too we are ready for christmas very cool all right josh's turn my turn got one don't want to go too tight you know you got to just just just right just right just right you got to make it work i like that they're the big bulbs i think that's really cool makes them so much prettier right they're nostalgic for me i agree it's upside down but josh is signing away gotta make sure it dries yup gotta put our names on there all right [Music] that's where all the families would eat lunch and breakfast and dinner they we currently don't have families at the village of course because of kovitch um but we're hoping to welcome them back next year as soon as we possibly can this is our our iconic building that's what's on my name tag that's what's on everything that you see um inside of the castle is a star that represents each of the wish children that have visited us so we actually have them up inside of the um on the roofs and it's gorgeous and that's kind of what our wish tree right here is going to reflect as a reminder the event is in progress so not everything is complete that's why we called it a little bit of a sneak peek for you guys um but the wish tree is supposed to represent those wishes so it will twinkle a little bit more there's going to be some added effects right at them yep and each of the twinkles is supposed to represent each of the wish children that we've had here at the village which is 170 000. yep yep wow 170 000. wow that's amazing and if you want to stop to get more pictures or ask questions [Music] you can hear they're actively working on putting more lights in so you can hear the equipment running in the background so just be careful don't worry about that and i said earlier that they have about a million lights in right now it's actually our newest building here at give kids the world um this was supposed to have a grand opening on march 21st [Music] wow [Music] i hear him hiding behind that tree let's sing him a song see if he says hello if i'm preparing for some christmas sharon [Music] [Music] buttons and the kids will come in here before like halloween on mondays or before wednesdays which is our village idol night and they'll get all dolled up and this is our valentine's hope building so here at the village when henry lambert founded it he didn't want the families to come and feel like they saw ads everywhere and that they would have to go to the places that they saw advertisements for it um so this is the only place where we actually showcase our sponsors um like disney universal sea world all of those things even though we have so many partners here that make the village happen we only showcase that inside except for this event so this is huge for us we're actually allowing our sponsors to brand their villas and showcase however they want to promote their company um at the event which is huge we've never done anything like that here and what you saw in the room was about 2 million it'll be over 3 million when it's finished um we are hoping wow it's amazing so this is our garden we still have the whole garden to light but this is going to be one of my favorite areas where our families will today we'll do like a star wars marathon or something if the families don't go to disney and after new movies are released by disney we actually get those movies shortly after so the kids get a really good preview um this is amberville this is what we just started with the first look oh it looks gorgeous um inside of here is our our arcade room um there is a huge miniature village train set set up um there's also a bowling alley which is wheelchair accessible there's lots of fun arcade games and rides all wheelchair accessible and in the back it's not quite complete yet but that's what all these boxes are behind this crane universal is actually sponsoring mark's dino punch inside it's a putt-putt course but it's going to be a walk-through for the event so they are bringing in tons of stuff and it is going to look gorgeous and so she just said that disney actually supplied the 3 million lights for this project which is really amazing i wonder if there's any osborne lights in here [Music] look at this all the rides and stuff over here isn't that cool i bet they'll get these i bet they'll get these decorated up too i'm sure um so what we're walking up to is the start of our sponsored villas um so we asked some not all but of our treasured partners to come out and sponsor a villa and our lighting team has lit all of the villas the roofs the sides the fronts and they asked our sponsors for what colors they wanted and then the sponsors are coming out to decorate the yards some of them are complete some of them are half complete some of them are not done at all but over the next two weeks we're going to get those finished it's a bit of a walk but i think you'll really want to see most of them they are gorgeous these are two villas but for the purposes of this event we're calling each one a villa because we're offering the whole building to the park this so reminds me of residential street in hollywood studios when it was all decorated up before the osborne lights actually and this is only about yeah so if you're feeling real wild after this i'll take you down the other half that one's really in progress tell me how you feel after walking there we get our steps in during the day perfect yeah sea world there you go this is our technical director bob how's everybody you guys having a good time so far yes have elise and them explain how to put lights on your house you haven't gotten in the details you're coming to all our houses doing it absolutely [Music] yeah lisa and adam will tell you all the tricks of how we how we put lights on the house so we don't damage your house and your homeowners insurance will absolutely love you for that so enjoy having fun just watch your step because again still very much an active construction site so lots of lifts and lots of gravel and things going on as we clean up not only the lights but the village as well with some new fresh gravel on the train tracks thank you i just love that blue one it's so pretty i mean seaworld had to be blue so she was saying if you haven't ever seen the village before these are each two villas so two families would stay here if you're not familiar with wireframe a big two-dimensional lit we wrap like we have 150 of those coming some of them are seven eight feet tall they're huge and they're gonna go all over the place including uh the 12 days of christmas so that scene is going around the whole lake we also have some fun creatures being added to the lake there's pga tour santa fishing in a boat so the company who created the tree that you saw in front of henry's this is their house oh wow look at that this one is entirely complete it's amazing it's rainbow house overload wow that is incredible literally changing colors the entire time wow so that fancy christmas tree that had all the images on it that last rainbow house was sponsored by them we really got to go over here and see is how these lights reflect off of the water over here look at this is this really reminds me of residential street back when hollywood studios used to do this it's so amazing oh it is lego wow that is a lego sponsored house look at that [Music] so crayola actually they brought us the giant people-sized crayons and then we kind of set the scene with the lights to make it look like they are decorating the villa this is boston whaler they're actually giving us a boat which we get tomorrow morning um and we're gonna cover the boat in life nice guys similar to s4 they're a christmas lighting group so they're going to do their whole villa as well but i think it involves some sort of christmas van it's gonna be really cool this will have way more nutcrackers than this but it's already cute air conditioning here at the village and they will have like a frozen sea oh here comes the crayola the crayons are decorating the house all right guys so this is the crayola house and you can see the crayons have the lights and they are decorating and then you see the multi-colored christmas tree there that is incredible look at the little crayons it's so cool oh he's like he's like actually coloring the lights onto the tree look at that he's so happy oh there is a pink one coming up here look at look at this one my house is sponsored by barbie it actually might be like mattel or something yeah this one's cool with all the snowflakes i was wrong the pink one is the don cesar which actually is a pink hotel uh at st pete beach treasure island area so there you go yup you can see it right there dawn cesar the camera is like in pink overload right now literally that's literally a sea of pink that's incredible it's beginning to look a lot like christmas and it's before halloween of course this is just a special sneak preview we're really lucky to be out here but i think i'm ready for christmas like now i'm good good to go i'm totally ready ready to go all right so jenny you've never been to give kids the world at all and here you are now seeing it all lit up what's your reaction to the village oh my goodness it's first of all that like the little cottages are super cute but with the lights on like josh was saying it reminds me of the old osborne's when they were on the residential street yeah residential street where you would walk and there would be like golden girl's house it's just amazing yeah it really is so the whole village is insanely awesome i hope you get to come back during the day sometime yeah me too we were here and got a whole tour and history of it when i was here with the school for the project we did but it was so amazing wow it's a really cool place to terminate the light because it's a really cost-effective opt-in and they're working great um and then some of the other this one um there is no safe way to put the lights on there and make them stay so those buildings are just outlined or causing any damage at all a lot more lights this villa actually has the most lights out of all of them um and they're all very tightly knit i think adam what's this basically oh i have no idea yeah three-inch facing where the other way six-inch spacing between each strand except for the metal roof with their 12-inch facing legs that's kennedy space center all right this one is light so this is the lego one check this out [Music] that's a lego reef oh it's a different party you do have the disco kitty drop at legoland wow so there are the events for the legoland holidays are you just amazed by it it's a lego snowman this is so cool so detailed and beautiful wow so this is orlando city these are the actual orlando city or some of their actual soccer goals that are decorated on this house guys that looks like a moon lander or lunar rover maybe let me see i think this is nasa it's got to be uh kennedy space center yeah so nasa that is so cool and they were saying the metal roof buildings they had to do them um 12 inches apart because of the way they had to put them on the roof they're trying not to damage the houses at all no drilling or anything like that so look there's a spaceman suit that's that's the technical term i just gave it space man suit how about astronauts astronauts there you go this place has got me feeling like a kid again see i'm just i'm gonna give them to give the kid a name for it it looks like it's got a dinosaur yeah oh a dragon with wings we're going we're going so here we are this is margaritaville and it is very very tropical in style i love the way that the lights are kind of ripple effect the way that they're wrapped around on the roof and you've got the parrot chairs there the iron deck or adirondack parrot chairs there this looks like it is a radio station oh this is nolan's roofing and then over here is a mix 105.1 oh so they kind of shared what it looks like but that is amazing it's the christmas dragon knows you need a christmas dragon he's like dancing oh this is 105. yeah this one was 105.1 and then the other one next to it they kind of shared a villa it looks like this nolan's roofing but look at the way his wings are moving that's amazing it's cute and here we are on the other side of the little lagoon here and it is breathtaking reflection view over here we really like the christmas dragon i mean nothing is so cool he's amazing like his wings and everything i mean most of the inflatables are pretty cool but this one's locked yeah i mean come on so this is gonna be a 150 foot light tunnel right here wow so this is actually a triceratops from one of the jurassic park movies and universal is one of the sponsors of this event so they're sponsoring that area so that's a really cool thing it's kind of dark but amazing so now we are back on the avenue here where the main area of buildings is kind of back where we started check one more look at this [Music] no need to point that out and we are walking back into the same by two of our volunteers that have been with us for years and it just blows my mind that that looks as good as the crew that did [Music] this all right jenna we're gonna grab some ice cream or you are for sure okay i'm gonna grab some ice cream hi how are you i like you oh my goodness look at this room this place just fills my heart with so much joy just how much effort they take to make the kids happy and their families happy it's amazing and this is new this has never been used by families because unfortunately this whole ice cream area was just finished right as covid hits so they're excited when they're able to open back up to premiere this to families oh these people are you live i know i'm just uh we're just vlogging so welcome to the vlog this is cool right that's not even all complete no yeah i had to eat my ice cream here in a second but it's a vlog in a stream and a stream and a vlog she's got his chocolate ice cream i do i better it's nice and cool out here but it looks amazing awesome it's good to see you john it's good to see you too thank you so much for stopping and saying hi yeah did you finish your tour um yeah we finished the tour we're going to go do the other we're going to do the other half right after ice cream there's a chick-fil-a house well there's a chick-fil-a house oh we got to see that they don't have the cows yet but they're going to have [Music] did you see the nasa house yet yes oh my goodness i said it's a spaceman suit and jenna said i'm like is it caramel or caramel i say caramel i say caramel i say caramel it must be in india i say caramel tomato tomato yeah three thousand dollars oh my goodness so first of all those of you guys watching the vlog be sure to go here it's so amazing it literally gives me chills to walk around here and just know how happy these families are when they come i don't even it's just hard to put it into words honestly so we're gonna check out the castle here where she said there are over 170 000 stars for wishes and children that have been here and their wishes that have already been granted so amazing look there's a little drawbridge here and then the the lagoon and the mushroom oh my goodness i mean it's so cool look at the moon up there wow and here's one of the main buildings here i don't know all the names of the buildings i'm sorry but wow [Music] if you are down here you need to come and check this out because it is incredible it really really is awe-inspiring to see and you're going to be supporting a good cause too so you definitely want to go and support this great place it's so cool to be able to be here with our friends too all right everybody so this is steven he works with give kids the world and he was actually one of the people that helped organize the beverly challenge with all of us in the dis and that crew resort tv one cory meets world so hi stephen thanks for having us out i'll worry which again i have to say is the funniest fundraiser that i've done in my three years here at gift kitchen the beverly it is the most unique and i think often want to be replicated challenged i think everybody says they can do it yes but then what you guys go through for the village that was incredible it was so much fun and just knowing it was a good cause and then you know when we we started the money started getting to the point was like ten thousand dollars we were just so blown away by the amount that was raised by people so it was really cool viewers you guys i mean i could not believe how much money that raised it was just i know and watching the trays of the beverage come out like no thank you yeah but it was it was incredible and then getting to come here in january like i did just getting to see really how all that money was put to good use was so rewarding as well so glad you guys are here i hope you have so much fun absolutely so what's the what's your favorite part of this whole process right now of of making the village come to life with three million lights so far is all these houses are treasure partners of give kids the world it was invite only to come here and these are people who support us year round uh and one thing you kind of notice around the village you're going to see it here on the earth for this christmas uh exhibit but there's no corporate sponsors on any of our buildings you don't see something presented by walt disney world of perkins or boston marketer we allow no corporate promotion here so it's a really cool event that we're able to celebrate these partners who are here year round support us and they're very quiet about it so this is our one opportunity to brag about all the support that they do for us oh that's awesome so really say thank you to them in a big way yeah and they come on they're having so much fun decorating their cars yeah props out here and they're kind of competing against each other i think they come in they install they see what their next their neighbor did and they're trying to one-up them a little bit let me add something it's almost like a regular street in the in the you know suburban america and it's we're really blessed that you know for uh from a distancing perspective that the roads are closed for the entire event so it's not just sidewalks you get to walk the entire street here oh that's amazing well we are definitely going to come back when the event is going on and show everybody when it's completely finished as well okay thank you so much for everything with you guys well thank you stephen i appreciate it and again thank you for having us out enjoy the walk we will so the back of this pink building is so amazing it's like that don cesar building that we saw earlier this is so amazing i said amazing a lot in this video but um maybe i should come up with some other adjectives but it is truly truly beyond words almost impossible to describe here's brooks surf shack and one of the things that they said here when we were taking the tour is that a lot of these venues are named after children who have been here at give kids the world and so you know you've got like amber's you've got brooks you've got all these different names of wonderful children who have been here and so it's neat that they kind of name these places after the children as a tribute to them it's a hospitality suite decorated very nicely so this is kind of the back side of the castle it's like a lighthouse there and this is the backside of the starlight scoops and by the way it's named henry starlight scoops because henry was the founder of this amazing place and by the way the ice cream was amazing my coconut milk ice cream it was i had the chocolate but it was also amazing and look at the little gazebo over there too i mean it's not lit up yet but i would assume it will be i think there's a fountain back there somewhere so yeah this place is absolutely insane here's perkins so he was telling us steven was telling us that they have this giant mixer here and these these businesses like he said are the ones that support give kids the world all year but don't really get a lot of credit they do it just because it's the right thing to do and uh now they're actually getting to showcase them and they're out able to help give kids the world raise even more funds so the businesses are paying you know for a lot of this and putting up the lights themselves and supplying the volunteers so it's pretty amazing what's happening here what a partnership between give kids the world and all these amazing businesses here this is holiday inn club vacations there's one they've done a really good job accenting this house here they've even like yeah boston market okay so they've got it's got a red roof on it anyway and then kind of white accents so they've got the red and white lights which do a great job accenting this house this is a tropical themed sand castle i love it everybody so this is bob and he is the technical director for this whole operation here with all these lights so we were just talking about what's your favorite part of this whole process that you've been through here um i think my favorite part has been just the collaboration that the entire team not only the production team that that came in uh when give kids reached out to us but uh the the team here at give kids the world from from pam and stephen and elise and and their engineering team have just been absolutely amazing and i think it it helps us continue this by seeing their enthusiasm because every morning they come in the lights are on you know because we're here working and it's just exciting to see to see them get excited about it oh yeah and i think that's probably been my favorite part that's excellent it's true it's a good way to put it you know you've got giant mushrooms over carousels with sea horses and unicorns that's true oh it's incredible it's absolutely incredible so this hospitality house is actually sponsored by pepsi we we won't hold that against him because it's for a really good cause gotta find the coke house though but good job pepsi it looks beautiful and it's got the pepsi colors too red white and blue so this is home depot it's got the signature home depot colors here and you can see not all these houses are finished on this particular road and it's a work in progress here but they all will be decorated and it's just incredible to think about what that's going to look like so we will be back so we've got to see this yeah even the houses themselves are just really awesome each each one has a different theming to it maybe not anymore okay so this is really cool the barn and stuff back here oh oh they're getting this ready to go looks like there's going to be a sleigh here pretty soon oh they're getting him ready i'm sure he's getting ready they got the red light bulbs ready for rudolph yeah he's right there wait what he's right there oh he is right there hey guys they got the red light bulb ready for rudolph he's literally right there all right well i think we've almost reached the end of this but this is amazing and just how all this is connected as well it's so cool by all these little sidewalks just making it so easy for the families to get around i do believe they provide them with golf carts i think on request if they need and they can also drive their cars around to get to the main building so jenna wants to go down this way so we're going to go we're going oh wow we got christmas trees here and look at the wagon looks like they could do like hay rides or you know little christmas ride-arounds here i wonder if they use that during the regular times when the village is open so this is going to be a christmas tree trail it looks like christmas tree trail and then they have a couple more houses back here so they are really really working hard on this and it is amazing look at the ornaments in this tree over here that's cool so and these windmill houses are decorated here i think we can get back around this way we're going to get lost in the village but we did find mirrors that kind of mere shuttle bus right there oh how cool mirrors motor shuttle and they got it decorated in the colors and everything else and again all these businesses you hear about you know when you come to disney they've all stepped up and they've been supporting the village but now they're being they're able to support it in a much more public way which is cool for everybody so this is a very colorful one that's very much a work in progress but awesome i like it it's like tomatoes yes this is from wheaton this place is going to be wheaton so normally by the way the names on these little signs are the families that are staying here evergreen so it makes the family feel really special when they pull into these driveways and each family gets one half of the of the duplex here because their name is printed in here when they pull up they're treated literally like royalty from the moment they step in this place and it's so incredible so this building is normally candy cane like with its decorations and everything but they have amplified that to the next level with this really cool red and white light job they've done here but also look at this fountain the fountain is flowing guys that's amazing okay guys so we actually are up here on the balcony of the main building here they let us come through here where the administrative offices are and oh my goodness breathtaking wow this calls for a wide angle shot i am so ready for christmas guys i know right so this is reaction time what do you think here mind blown it's it's amazing breathtaking it really makes you you know just kind of warms your heart for the old osborne lights because we missed that so much and here this is for such a good cause it's it's i don't know it's amazing wow and you can even see the lights a little bit more closely on this building up here look at this all right everybody well this has been an absolutely incredible night or as i keep saying amazing amazing
