Now taking the ice and representing Turkey, here is Burak Demirboğaz.
So on the ice now the 28-year-old representing Turkey.
He was 30th in the World Championships last year.
He's competed, what, five times in the world?
Never made it to the free.
This is Burak Demirboğaz.
Double axle there.
He has been doing a triple.
He had enough speed and energy going into it.
Just open out.
Oh, that should have been his combination.
He snatched at the flip as well, didn't he?
But the pressure was on because that had to be in combination.
Oh, these guys are struggling, aren't they?
He just could not hold it together.
And he's a mighty fine skater, that's for sure.
You can see from the energy that he's got out there, the lightness of his feet.
But today it just did not work for him.
So no combination.
They're going to review, what, five of the seven elements.
Double axle was good, but of course that should have been a triple.
So the base value of this program is way, way lower than what he planned.
And just looking at the levels, he's not getting the levels.
He's got the fall in there as well.
It was a bit of a nightmare.
And he's losing a lot of grade of execution on the elements that he did do.
I wonder if there is an injury that forced him to skip the practice this morning.
Or if he was just prioritizing rest.
Regardless, this is the first time he stepped on the ice today.
And unfortunately, that did not work out as he had hoped.
Here's the axle.
Was hoping for it to be a triple.
It looked a little like a planned double to me, but I'm not sure.
Triple X, too far back on the blade.
He's not able to reach back and get the toe done.
And he also has an attention technical panel.
Are warning him that he is very close to being on the wrong edge.
And that, of course, is a reduction in the score he'll get for that element as well.
So only earning 4.3 points on that triple X.
This is going to be a tough technical score.
It is, yeah, because the levels on the spins and the step are not good, are they?
Not what he was looking for, that's for sure.
I love watching him skate as well.
He's got so much energy.
When you think of it, he's a guy that, what, back in 2021, he was in the low 70s in the short program.
Lucky to be in the 50s here.
Let's see, could he possibly get a 50?
Yeah, 48.45, he's third of the three that we've had.
Tough day at the office for him.
