Yeah, it was amazing for Veronica in the short program yesterday.
She was early on in the start order, 7th to skate,
and managed to pull off a fantastic result for the Polish women
with the 7th place short program.
She'll love to have another great skate right now in front of her home audience
as she skates to Truman Sleeps Escape by Philip Glass.
Veronica Fairland representing the home nation
to the delight of the audience in Gdansk.
And I think for me, when I was watching this program initially,
I was making the direct comparison with the skaters that have just competed
with the likes of Kaoru Kawada and Neon Co.
That said, though, they have so much more experience
and have had such greater results.
Veronica Fairland was scoring 71.19 a week ago.
Yeah, she was 23rd in Baku.
She finds herself 7th after the short program here in Gdansk.
And she went out on the ice focus.
And you're going to see an improvement in her season's best score
of a whopping number.
Whopping indeed.
I was thinking of a British term, but I can find one.
I'm going to try and do a calculation for what I think we're going to see
in terms of the percentage increase of score.
Just amazing.
There's the triple flip to start the program,
into the double toe, double loop.
She was really focused.
And even though there were some little mistakes here and there,
another triple flip.
Beautiful.
Great height all the way around.
Only one review out of 11 elements.
That says a lot about the clarity of the jumps.
Double axel a little bit later in the program.
It was nice.
That was right near the end.
There's that sliding movement.
It was risky, but she gets it done.
And the end spin change,
flying change combination spin at level four.
And she has all the elements are in the plus GOEs.
So she's adding points to the base value because the quality of what she
did here in this program, only one of the elements were in the minuses.
So great base value, really strong GOEs.
And I think her 71.19 will now disappear.
Even her 77 personal best.
It's a 96.84.
It's more than 30% higher than last week.
Yeah, season's best personal best big score here.
150.76 and she's her mind is like blowing.
She looks at the big numbers and she takes over fifth place.
And you know, her previous PB comes from 2021.
Yeah.
So how wonderful to see.
That is fantastic.
