Hello everyone. Welcome back to my
channel. Drew here from Lone Fox and
today we are doing a video that I've
actually already filmed once and you
guys never got to see the video because
Winston ate the camera card for this
video. Winston's on his way in here
right now. Can you apologize to everyone
for eating the camera card weenie? What
do you have to say for yourself? Huh?
Oh, [laughter] but I actually filmed
this video about 6 months ago. I did a
trip to San Diego. Justin and I rented a
U-Haul. I filmed the entire thing. I got
back home and my camera card was plugged
into my computer in the card reader and
Winston thought it was a true toy and
ate the card reader and the camera card.
However, it has been 6 months since our
last trip and we are dying to do another
antiquing adventure and just go sourcing
for our projects or the website. Um, I
have lots of different needs for vintage
and antique at all times. bringing you
guys along with me. But I do want to
give a big shout out to today's video
sponsor, which is Helix, because they
are having their Black Friday sale this
week. So, make sure to take advantage of
their Black Friday offer, which I'll
talk about in just a bit. And on top of
them having a Black Friday sale, I am
having a Black Friday sale, which I
actually decided to start when this
video is live. It is going to last from
today until the following Monday, until
Cyber Monday. And we are offering 25%
off sitewide off of everything. Vintage
furniture, vintage decor, contemporary
goods, art, prints, anything and
everything on the site is 25% off. And
orders over 99 also ship for free unless
it is like a large furniture piece. So
definitely check out the site. It is the
perfect time to shop. We have so many
gift items and I also just loaded up our
vintage section with a lot of really
great things. So yeah, you're going to
want to check it out. But today I'm
bringing you guys along with me. Justin
should be here any minute and we are
going to make our way to San Diego.
[music]
Justin bought this bandage and wrapped
it around the steering wheel because it
was disintegrating. That's called DIY
and smart thinking. Yes, it is.
>> Creativity.
>> We are on the way to San Diego right
now. How far are we away? Like an hour.
[music]
>> Um,
>> an hour and five.
>> We are here. Here we just arrived and I
want to share with you guys the car
we're in because I don't even know if I
have shared it with you yet. Here is our
large U-Haul. Well, it's actually the
smallest U-Haul you can get, but it's
still pretty large. We got a box truck,
rented it in Los Angeles. Drove it down
to San Diego today just to go antiquing
all today and tomorrow. Last time we
rented one of these, I thought it only
cost us like $40 and Justin was like,
"No, it was like 600." And I was like,
"What?
I thought it was $40.
I always was like, why wouldn't you just
rent a U-Haul instead of a rental cart?
So much cheaper.
Oh my gosh, it really catapulted up.
This is so big. Look how much space we
can fit in here. Purpose and reason for
this trip is to just source things for
our projects, for interior projects, for
you guys over on the website. We're just
doing a little two-day sourcing journey
at our first place right now.
Consignment classics. There's actually a
ton of them all around San Diego. So,
I'm going to take you guys into the
first one. We're going to see what we
can find and hopefully we can start
filling up the truck. This is what we
like to see. New and used furniture and
trucks arriving daily. Hey, look how big
it is in here, though. There is so much
to go through. So, it's going to take us
a minute. Fabric's almost good, but I'm
not loving the people on it. I love this
little niche here. It kind of has like a
almost East Lake style on the top there,
but not as dramatic. It's also painted,
but I think this could be great because
it could be something you put on a shelf
and you can display something on the
inside of. So, this is a fun little
find. This right here is intriguing me.
I love the triangles on the top.
So cool.
Oh my gosh, it's like 89. I see a
winner. I don't know how much it is, but
I love love love these tables like this.
It's like the top is burl, like a
burlwood top, and it's really warm, and
it's just so figured. I love when burl
has all this little little indentations.
Oh, I actually used to have this exact
table right here.
[music]
This is quite pretty.
Color of a desert and a green frame.
This one here is like a handmade pottery
lamp with a really nice little linen
shade on it. Nice colors and a nice
little shade. This lamp is so cool. It
has a painted base. It's not really my
style, but I love this little I wish I
can like cut this off and frame it. Look
at how cute this is. I love the finish.
Oh my gosh. Oh, it's wood. It's wood
wrapped in metal. Oh my gosh, look how
cute this is, you guys. It's like a wall
shelf, but the patina, like the
verdigree on the I think it's old.
Sometimes these can have like more of a
faux look to them, but I don't know.
This one feels very, very authentic.
Okay, Justin's not going to be happy,
but I think we need a bigger U-Haul
because look, people, it's a massive
driftwood table. Look at the base. Look
at the freaking base. Can you guys see
that? I'm so sorry. My camera is
annoying and dark sometimes.
Made in Italy. Italian glass vase.
Grabbing that. Wasn't expecting to find
that. But look like this like totally
overshines this. This is not the vibe.
It's pretty. [music]
It is cool. If you want to know our
trick to find if something's actually
old, look at the back of it.
>> I think it's just painted black.
This is so cute, too. this little glass
lamp.
Look how good that chair shape is. I
love that. And the color. I'm normally
not into gray, but this one, it's just
like a nice worn washed wood. Oh, we see
some cute fabric peeking through on this
chair. Look at that. My piles of stuff
always look the same. We have lots of
wood, lots of metal, lots of patina,
age, and character. Look at this marble.
This is the most stunning marble I've
ever seen.
So pretty. Okay, here's a little look at
what we found at our first stop. Um,
some lovely decor bits and then a few
pieces of furniture. I also picked up
the table, which you can see so much
better out here. I also changed my
camera settings, so they should be
better for the rest of the video. Look
how great that is. A nice little outdoor
table. And then we got this, which is
super interesting. It's like a little
vintage garden sign of some sort. But I
love it. I love love love the tripod
base.
[music]
Packed everything up from our first load
and we are walking to the next one
because guess what? It's right here.
Super close. This is like I think
they're more like decor focused store
that's next door to the larger one. The
little studs on the this basket.
Definitely going to get this.
>> That one's really pretty.
>> It's like a four-way decanter. Clear
four chambers.
>> What would you put in there?
>> Oh, it probably would have corks in it.
>> Look at this little basket purse. That
is actually cute.
Oh,
these are cute. Little fish plates.
Something interesting in here. I need to
get it out though.
So interesting. It's got a little tray
with like these wire worked handles and
like a fuette in the center. Got these
little pieces of pottery.
This cute little wall base. Some swear
as well. I'm practicing for if we ever
open a store, how I can wrap the
people's purchase.
Walking to the third antique store now.
And before popping in, I want to let you
know about Helix's Black Friday sale. If
you are in the market for a new
mattress, you guys, I highly, highly
recommend Helix. They are the sponsor of
today's video. And I genuinely love
every facet [music] of this company. The
quality of the product, the assortment
of the products that they have, how
quickly it comes to you, the efficiency
of it, how it comes packed in a box.
Truly, everything about Helix I just
absolutely adore. And I know shopping
for a mattress is a big step and kind of
an odd thing to do online. However,
Helix makes it super easy because they
have a sleep quiz and you can actually
answer a bunch of different questions
that it asks you and it pairs you up
with a perfect mattress for [music] your
body type. And I've taken this quiz over
and over again over like the 5 years
I've been working with Helix. And it's
always matched me up with the same exact
one, which is a Helix Midnight, the one
that I have myself. And with your new
mattress, you're actually going to get a
100 day sleep trial, meaning if [music]
it's not for you, that is okay. They're
going to come pick that mattress right
up. You don't have to put it back in the
box. And I honestly think you are going
to love your mattress so much. These are
literal comments from the Lone Fox
family themselves. So, it's not just me,
all of my family, and a majority of my
friends that have Helix mattresses that
love them. These are literal comments
from the Lone Fox family who have taken
recommendation from a video just like
this and got a Helix mattress and have
found out that they truly do love them
as well, which makes me so happy to
hear. And let's just say that you're not
in the market for a new mattress, but
you want to increase the comfort level
of your current mattress. Helix now
offers mattress toppers, which are super
cool because you don't have to invest in
that whole new mattress. You can just
pop this right over the top of a current
mattress to increase the comfort level.
And I also have to say Helix offers free
shipping within [music] the US, a
10-year warranty, and flexible payment
plans and financing options. And right
now, Helix's [music] Black Friday sale
is live, which means that you can save
27% off sitewide, which is crazy. So,
make sure to click that link in the bio
because I think it's actually ending
very, very soon. So, you want to take
advantage of that while the sale lasts.
We've been antiquing for a good solid
like 3 hours, but we still have, how
much time do we have? They close at
7:00. We still have 2 hours and 15
minutes, and we're going to maximize our
time and probably go to as many as we
can, head to our hotel, and then do some
more tomorrow. So, let's see what we
find in the third spot. Oh my gosh. Ooh,
look how cute that little kind of like
Halloween painting is. I love this one
here. I'm also really into this kind of
like a lantern box. What is this
European tollware display case? We found
loose paintings. We love loose
paintings. Ooh,
>> kind of cute. Painted by Michelle
Feifer. [laughter]
>> Probably worth a lot.
Ooh, that one's kind of pretty. Her face
is missing.
>> Also by Michelle Fefeifer.
>> Oh, the radishes are really pretty. I
love the pop of red. Oh my gosh, I'm
obsessed with this. Look how cute this
little tile table is. It's like an ivory
tile with an iron frame. And it's old,
too. You can just tell.
[music]
Love these Cusco style paintings. I
don't know if they are real. It says
Cusco style original painting, but I
love this one. One's my favorite. The
houses are so good, but they're kind of
expensive. Getting good energy from this
booth. Feeling like there's going to be
some cool. Look at this studio pottery.
This looks like my dog Winnie P. or
something in there. It's just like a
little box.
>> It almost looks like you can like use it
as a candle warmer.
>> You probably could. You might be able
to.
>> Look at this painting right here.
[sighs and gasps]
This is so gorgeous.
I had to point out the frame on this
piece. How good is that painted frame?
Something you can even do like DIY if
you wanted to. I love I love this also.
Oh, this cute.
Oh, we're definitely getting this.
You guys, look how cute this is. It's
like a vintage
raw iron [music] pine cone mirror. Oh my
gosh, my hair looks crazy. Sorry about
that.
How cute is this book, you guys?
Vintage. The blue is stunning. It's
figure drawing and it's [music] 14
bucks. Looks like it's like an Italian
book or something. And you can even
pull. You can find books like these and
even use the pages inside for art if you
wanted to. This is me. [laughter]
We just scored. Look at how cool these
are. They are 1960s figure studies. The
little bit of color in the back. Like
the wash of color and just the style.
And there's five of them. I think we're
going to end up getting three. How good.
Ah, that's so stunning. And then we got
this one as well with the blue wash in
the background. Antique turned wood
[music] screen
little corner desk. It's a wicker and it
goes in the corner. That's so cute.
Pretty colors.
>> I like the black and white.
The camera just died. But look at this
bird cage. It's a Victorian bird cage.
Probably like early 20th century. It is
so so stunning. The price is also great
on this. So, I think I might have to get
this. [clears throat] I love the painted
details. It just like makes it for me.
>> Oh my gosh. What is that? A button,
baby.
>> Excuse me, sir. Um, okay, you guys. I
want to show this painting. We [music]
couldn't tell if it was scary or if it
was really, really good and cool. Kind
of obsessed with it.
It's Christmas time and I want to see
>> 1990s, 2000s, something like that. I
just love it. I think it could be so
cool framed [music] and really really
like interesting. This combo is just
gorgeous. It has been a couple hours
since I saw you and we just checked in
to the hotel. My camera ended up dying
at our third antique store, but we ended
up getting the most stuff at the third
one. So, tomorrow morning when I pop
down, I'm going to share with you guys
the current state of the U-Haul and also
share with you some of the things we
found at the third antique shop, but I
wanted to give you a little room tour
and I'm also going to vlog a little bit
tonight at this hotel because we're
staying at the Lafayette Hotel in San
Diego and this is not at all sponsored.
It's so good. So, let me flip this
camera and give you a room tour. Here is
a look at my room and this is just like
a simple single room and look at how
cool the space is. Like, it just feels
like you're taking a step back in time.
Um, the floors are carpeted. This is
like the TV over here is behind the
stunning curtain. You have a little area
to sit at. It is like a smaller sized
room, but I just love love love all of
the details. The Morano sconces, the
custom bedding with like the pink, the
pop of silk as well. Bathroom is over
here. Like even just the lacquered
doors, if you can see, you can like
almost see a reflection in them. So much
attention to detail. H, how cute is
this?
Oh my. Oh, love, love, love the green
and the white. Like they did green. It's
like a minty green here. It feels so
historic, doesn't it?
[music]
[music]
>> [music]
[music]
>> Good morning. My hair looks a little
crazy today because I forgot my hair
products and I had to uber eat some hair
products this morning and they didn't
really work that well. So, it's looking
like this. Already out and about. We're
at our first stop today. It's probably
like 10:00. And we are at Consignment
Classics, another one, but over in like
actual San Diego area. And I found this
really cool ladder. I want to share it
with you. Looks like this. And I feel
like it just has such a nice little
silhouette to it. It feels like a
vintage like library ladder almost.
And I love the like patina here. It's
super sturdy as well. Like I literally
walked up the whole thing. It's so nice.
It's like a shell picture.
That is so great.
[music]
>> Gosh,
>> they look real.
>> Well, there's they're the maiden home.
Those are $4,000 chairs. They're only
$7.99 a chair.
>> Oh my gosh.
Hopefully, we can score some pieces.
Ooh. Those chairs are quite pretty and
interesting over there. Look at this
side table here with the coin top on it.
You can like see the iron work a little
better. So cool. This is such a cute
little chair here with the barley twist
legs. And I even like the fabric from
what I can see. I bought this pair of
chairs and these [music] are from Maiden
Home. Let me just show this is the
original listing. I've seen these
before. They're the Perry chair
upholstered in the sheerling ivory.
These chairs retail [music] for $37.50.
I got both for $15.98 and they're like
literally new. I think I might want to
put them in my living room or my bedroom
perhaps. [music] So, I just had to get
them. Morning of day two. And we have
some good progress with our truck. Look
how much we filled up. Um we have a
bunch of small goods in the boxes. Few
different furniture pieces. Got these
columns over here which are stunning.
and they're from Italy. This bird cage,
I think I shared that with you guys as
well. And we're just waiting for a
couple of chairs to come out. We also
got a bunch of paintings. Packed them
all up here so they're nice and going to
prevent any damages. And yeah,
everything's looking so good. The color
is stunning. It's like a pale, buttery,
caramel, taupey yellow creamy goodness.
They're so cute. I'm so happy with this
purchase. I know. They're like a
personal purchase. I love We've made it
to the fourth location of the trip.
Second of the day or actually this is
the fifth location, right? Yeah, this is
our fifth location and it is Consignment
Classics. As you can see, we're at
another and we're going to head on in.
This one's really good. We found a bunch
of stuff here last time, so hopefully we
can find more.
[music]
>> [music]
[music]
[music]
[music]
>> little glasses with like drapery.
[music]
Look who it is. It's Winnie. I love this
little fish jar. It's made 1982.
We might have just found the most
perfect checkerboard in the world. Would
you like to show the class, Justin?
>> Yes. Look how gorgeous this checkerboard
is. It has little cards inlays on the
corners.
>> We love finding checker boards and like
old game boards. They're just really fun
to use as art. Or you can also use this
as a tray on the coffee table or as a
literal checkerboard if you wanted to.
[music]
[music]
We bought a ton of stuff here. Check
that out. Looks so good. This cool piece
of art and all these
styling accessories.
All righty, guys. I am back. I found so
many incredible pieces. I'm going to
give you guys like a little miniature
overview. I just can't do a haul of
everything cuz I really did get a lot,
but I want to share with you some of my
absolute favorites. First being this
piece of art here. How incredible is
this? It's like a fairy tale style
painting. This piece of art too so
striking. I think the pink lip really
makes it. And I can just see this in
like a hallway or something. This piece
of art as well. This is actually I think
a jockey from 1873. Fred Archer is the
name. And it is incredible. It's painted
on wood and it's in this kind of like
triangle peaked shape. The back is so
old as well. And then these are some
other little cute items that we found.
Look how cool this lamp is. It is
actually covered in tapestry. I found
this lovely column here. The chair is
not something I found. It's just over
here at the moment cuz we just quickly
unloaded everything. And I found the
little dog on top as well. And then over
here, lots of little small bits that we
have found. So many cute pieces. Look at
the studio pottery with the horse on it.
Of course, I had to get the bird cage.
And I also found these iron candle
holders and this little miniature piece
of art, which I think is super striking,
especially for the size. I love the
round frame on there. It is a basket
that actually I believe has birds, like
ostriches on the sides as handles. These
copper molds are really nice to hang on
the wall as decor. Of course, some more
painting. They pack them up so nicely in
here. This is a stunning lithograph.
Kind of has like a modernist feel to it.
Of course, a couple pieces of furniture
which are kind of hidden, but we got the
table which you can see here. This
table. Also got two of these stunning
little twisty stools which are great.
This sideboard is something that's on
the site at the moment. And then this
burl wood coffee table as well. So, we
found so many great finds. I love going
sourcing in San Diego. I always find so
many unique pieces. And that, my
friends, concludes today's video. Thank
you guys so much for joining me on my
little antiquing adventure. I had so
much fun and it was so much fun filming
it this time and actually being able to
share it with you because Winston ate
the camera card last time. Um, but if
you guys saw anything in this video that
you liked, make sure to check out my
site because we are having our Black
Friday sale at the moment. 25% off
sitewide and a lot of the stuff that you
see here is not online yet, but we have
very similar vintage. I'm always always
sourcing new items for the shop. So
definitely check it out. It's the It is
the biggest discount of the entire year
we ever offer and it's for one week. So,
make sure to take advantage and I will
catch you guys all in my next video.
Also, big shout out to today's video
sponsor, Helix. Take advantage of that
deal as well and I will talk to you guys
in my next one. Bye.
