Course Vlog: Back 9 At North Hampton

what's up guys welcome back to the channel my name is andrew jensen at a fun little vlog today i'm taking you out on the back nine at northampton here it's a rainy day the rain has stopped for a little bit this morning so i'm gonna zip through this back nine let's go first things first we have the tenth hole short one it's three hundred and thirty yards a little bit of risk/reward big false front in front of the green you can try to drive the green off this bunker right here land it off that downslope and it can chase up or you can hit an iron have you have a little wedge in I like to hit driver and try to take it off that bunker and get it right in front of the green especially with the middle pin bit of an undulating green but it's a really easy really easy pitch so let's take drive our three [Music] neck that thing a little bit off the heel got 63 yards here pretty good shot here hit it about six seven feet them all [Music] breeds are a little shaggy this morning from the overnight rain I just got the 11th hole here 410 yards always bit into the wind this bunker here it's basically your target line you want to hit it right over that thing at the car path up in the distance greens a little over there to the left tons of room right so that's the bailout just make a good swing smooth the driver out there and try to have a wedge or so into the green had a good Drive got a hundred and fifty yards to a back in there the wind is up in the face a little bit the green slopes pretty gently but steadily from left to right you do want to hang this out there to the left and let it kick on back to that pin probably a chip a little 8-iron with this cooler air and heavy dense into the win [Music] hit a pretty good shot almost really good few feet further to the right coming in it with a kick down a little bit closer but I got about 20 feet straight downhill pretty makable so it would be a green light putt [Music] these slow morning wet greens like that thing right now hard right the hard 12 full 550 yard par 5 you just want to smash a good drive here so you can see that tall tree in the distance that's a great target Green goes up a little bit this way it is reachable in two with a good Drive the top I already is to play in play avoiding this waste bunker over here on the right it is flyable with no win but it's not necessarily worth trying to bite off that much just want to smash something up at that big tree between the 150 and that big tree is great target got an okay drive luckily the depends way up got 239 yards to that pin uphill into the wind a little bit short is probably the best leave messing with long they're just way the screen is sloped it's not something you want to do so I think I might just hit a two iron and maybe get it 20 to 10 yards short of the green does have an easy little pitch right up to that flag as opposed to trying to take a little bit off of 3-wood it just brings in too much trouble [Music] the way to move that pinged us a little bit more to the right wanted want to be right here and I kicked off its so and trickle back a little bit so I've got about a 25 to 30 yard pitch but lots green to work with goodbye in a row so this is still really really green light time to hit something up here nice and close and hopefully have a kitchen birdie [Music] first birdie of the nine always good to birdie par fives now we got two challenging holes so these are the holes where you just want to make some part and you can make a putt even better then after that we have a par-5 you know what that means 13th hole here 410 yard par-4 just a good hole challenging little driving hole visually there is a lot of room up there but you don't want to go any further left than that tree it is flat over there is fairway but you're gonna be blocked out right trouble so I just hit a 3-wood out here right at the green side bunker as my target and just try to keep this thing employee and have anywhere from a 9-iron wedge or 8-iron and then the screen depending on the wind [Music] caught that one a little bit off the toe I'm in the fairway but I'm dead behind this tree so I'm not to hit a little low hook around this tree under these branches and try to get it up there on a green obviously the error is short right leaves an easy up-and-down about 160 yards so I'm just going to kind of chip hood a 7-iron here I hit a good shot just hooded it a little too low so it hit into the bank here in front of the green and it's kind of stopped dead pretty straightforward pitch and run here those who just need to land this up here clear the clear the rock and let it let it chase on down to the hole nothing too complicated so just in to execute a solid shot not a bad pitch kick a little left I thought it might squirt a little right on me so I've got about four and a half feet here to sit in my bar 14th hole just a stout par-3 it's 215 yards to the middle 225 to that back-right pin wind helping a little bit off the right I only want the middle of this green messing with that pin brings the bunker and deploy it brings just too much trouble in the play this is a hole I just wanna hit the green take your two putts and get out of here so I'll probably just hit a soft cut for iron airs a little heavy as the ball is not flying too far but that should be good to get me right to the middle of that green well I hit my line it just caught it a little bit off the toe so it floated on me so I've got about 50 feet here up and over this Ridge just want to make sure I get my speed directly on this and have an easy second putt [Music] three-putt never fun as you can see so far through five holes I'm really struggling with the speed of these greens they just think having to cut this morning because of the rain so I've been struggling with a speed go back to even par have left to slip by on the greens but they're still holes left to make some birdies so let's hope we can do that 15th hole 563 yards just want to hit something straight out there there is fairway left hole kind of goes around a couple lakes this one here and then one will see up on the second shot but this one you just want to make solid contact the winds helping a little bit off the right there is a bit of a speed slot off these bunkers that I'll be carrying so this is a hole where a good Drive really sets you up for a look at hitting the screen too [Music] jumped on that one a little bit little frustration in that from that swing from the three-putt so I have to 26 to that flag wins helping a little bit so I think this is something where I'm just gonna hit a three iron and try to sling it in there just a little bit all I want to do is cover that bunker I've got lots of room to work with anything a little left that pin is okay I just want to make sure I have enough to cover all the trouble and with this wind just need to hit something about 220 yards so that's about perfect three iron with this air [Music] I kind of bend it and off the heel a little bit so I hung it out to the right but that's the miss open fairway here so I've got a pretty straightforward pitch here hit it into that little slope let it soften and trickle down to the hole so hopefully we can have another short-range birdie putt executed exactly plan hit it right into this slope here bounced up trickled up too few inches I believe that's a gimme birdie good bounce back from the three putt bouncing back with the birdie so we're back under par with three good holes to play so hopefully we can keep this at 1-under and maybe get one more you're gonna like these last three holes I think this is one of the best par fours in all of Florida 438 yards from this back tee green is over there so you have to hit it in this kind of sliver of fairway up here I like to keep it a little right I don't want to mess with the left side cuz it can all kick to that water so identity just hit a 3-wood and know that I'm gonna have anywhere from a 5 6 or 7 iron in this is a tough par 4 where do you see the second shot you just want to make a 4 here and the first thing to do is hit that fairway [Music] part-1 accomplished hit the fairway caught it a little bit off the toe but that's okay because I was taking a conservative line that if I happened to do that it's actually gonna benefit me it's gonna help me get a little bit around that corner the advice here is when you're playing a hole that's really really demanding off the tee you just have to commit to your target and then and then let it go because if you're try to steer it you're gonna hit bad shots when I first joined here and first started playing here this tee shot really messed me up but I player it out to the right I've you know I'd pull it left in the water because I just didn't have a fully committed plan but now I step up here with three would I know that if I do miss hit it I'm okay I've got options but I just commit and I let it go I don't think about my golf swing to just accept the target I'm committed to and let it go so that's the big piece of advice when it comes to a tough driving hole you got a you know got up and just do it and you hit that one well we get in the water we drop we we try to make a par bogey we hit a good one we were awarded four of those saying I did hit a good one I got away with it but I've got 164 yards in now but you can see this green it goes back and front left to back right right no good obviously you're in the water you're in that bunker the middle pin is the easiest pin because you just want to hit nothing further than it you have all this green front left to play to when it's a back then I just hit to the middle of this green behind this middle flag there actually is a downslope with like a false back so it kicks down to like a grass 164 yards I don't want to hit anything more than 164 yards so I'll probably just chip a little 8-iron front left at this pin in it if it fades back to it perfect if not 20 25 feet is a good leave on this hole if you saw there I got a little stuck on that upslope caught it a little bit heavy but I still had enough to keep it fine in place so I've got about 25 feet here can't really complain would have been nice to have struck slightly better shot but you still got a putt at birdie that's all we can ask for in a difficult par-4 let's get it up there and it goes in component [Music] alright guys this is the 17th hall beautiful little postage stamp of a par 3 plane 135 yards today the pin is back on a Ledge cannot hit it left of that because there is a whole slope into the middle of the screen so when it's a middle pin it's like a hole-in-one in whereas today you got to be aggressive you got to go right at it but just make sure you don't take any more than 135 yards because you could be left with a difficult putt or chip for your second shot so something about a hundred and thirty to thirty-five right at that flag is going to be perfect [Music] [Applause] happy with that shot a slight breath of wind push the ball a little bit to the left but it's still hung on it didn't slope down that that big hill there this is a tricky little green for a short haul but just such a great short hole but I've got about 18 20 feet for birdie so hopefully we can knock this in so there's really no reason for leaving this one short [Music] here we go the beautiful 18th hole at Northampton four hundred and forty ish yard par-4 obviously your enticed to think you have to go this way but you don't the line is driver out here gonna have anywhere from a nine to seven iron into this into this flag winds into us a little bit so it's gonna take a good Drive but room left that's the bailout but again this is kind of a 16th hole you just want to pick a target commit to it and let it go I really pumped that one probably the best driver these nine holes it is a front pin which is even better I've got a 141 yards to it front little plateau so anything right at this pin actually is better at slightly left of it there is a slope down there so this is something where you want to take dead aim at it but err on on the right side so you'll have a flat 541 yards a little uphill breath a wind into saw probably tip a little 9-iron so I can control the spin on it [Music] I executed exactly how I had envisioned it you see there's this little down slope here and then another slope so you wanted to stay right of it and I did I kept it up on this little flat chip that a 9-iron in there quite well so this is a really makeable green-light birdie putt it's what's in on the bird well guys I hope you enjoyed that nine-hole course vlog the first time I did a full mine hauls I've only ever done little sections here and there talking about a particular theme whether it's the wind whether it's risk reward whereas today we just played nine holes taught to under par pretty good nine holes for coming right out of the right of the parking lot and onto
