I was fighting my golf swing I was
playing golf swing so that was a little
bit annoying good morning guys welcome
back to the vlog yeah
I'm vlogging today haven't really done a
vlog in almost week we did a work harder
Wednesday their little confessional type
thing earlier this week today let's do a
little day to day type vlog action gonna
play some golf today go into a golf
course that I've played a few times
called Eagle Landing the reason I think
this is something I need to be doing
playing a little bit more golf is I've
got a tournament next week and I can
spend a lot of time on the range sure
that's fun that's good that's productive
but I need to get out on the golf course
and just get a feel for putting a score
together so we're gonna head out there
I'm golfing my buddy Sean try to grab as
much cool food as I can and also talk
you a little bit through some of the
play little long course vlog let's do
this
[Music]
a little bit earlier than Shawn to get
some work done on my short game here
it's nice to have a different firmness a
green these greens are bit faster the
Bermuda here is a little bit fluffier
than the Bermuda at my course the
Bermuda my course is really hard packed
and getting some practice in here is
really good because I don't know what to
expect in Jamaica so if I've had some
work and different types of Bermuda
different firmness of greens it's just
only gonna help me a flight here a
couple of times so I know the golf
course quite well I've circled a few
holes in the scorecard that will be
really good to talk about strategy on
because there's a lot of variety out
here so these few holes that I've
grabbed I'll show you them out there
today and talk about exactly how I play
these holes and talk a little bit about
some strategy here on the seventh hole
this is a par 5 as you can see goes
around the water
there's the green and you basically are
faced with the option of how much do you
want to bite off how much of this water
do you want to take on you can see right
there that red stakes to 56 to carry red
stake over here is to 76 to carry and
then the very end in line with the trees
that's to 95 the winds a little bit into
us so what I would do essentially I'll
split the middle I mean I can carry
driver to 90 but I don't need to get too
risky so you go right up here know that
even if I don't hit it well it's gonna
cover that water and just commit I've
taken a line that is safe that if I push
it right I'm okay that if I pull it left
I'm okay but if I take this line and
happen to pull it left I'm dead if I
take a too modest line and push it right
I'm really out of position so you want
to take a line that allows you to miss
it either way and doesn't force you to
have to swing out of your shoes so
that's what we're gonna do if I hit that
hit that line maybe let the wind moving
a little bit left I'm still gonna have a
long iron into this green and then we
can talk about strategy up there
all right well I pulled that drive just
a little bit but I'm okay I have 225 to
this pin and it's very narrow up there
one thing that's unique about this golf
course is all their par fives are quite
penal when it comes to going for a par
five and two so you can see these two
bunkers here and here but there's
actually a bunker in front of the green
and that pin is going to be tucked
behind it I believe so I have 225 so
this is a shot that if I choose to go
for it which I will you want to land it
about 210 up the right don't need to
mess with the flag and just let it get
up there on the green and give yourself
a look at Eagle if you can and know that
your bail out is short and right this is
the 12th hole here Eagle landing and
it's a 325 yard par-4 on first glance
that's drivable with the right wind but
really it's a big risk reward
do you want to take on the risk for the
reward of having an eagle putt or chip
the green is very very shallow so having
a 20 yard pitch a 15 yard pitch is
really difficult it's hard to spin it so
if anything if anyone was gonna try to
drive this green you would try to get it
in the greenside bunker the smart play
is hitting something that stays short of
these bunkers up here and gives you
about a hundred yards into this hole
I pulled that one but I left it short of
this bunker you can't see the flag but I
have a hundred and seventeen yards to
the flag and that was the point of the
layup takes all the trouble out of way
you can hit it left you can hit it right
you still have a shot I'd like to be in
a fairway but this is where I'm at
[Music]
that was pretty scrappy out there today
I hope you enjoyed a little bit of that
strategy talk though it was nice to be
able to share a little bit of the
thinking when it comes to going for a
par 5 and to being aggressive out of par
5 or a drivable par 4
I shot even par for birdies four bogeys
didn't hit it very well I was fighting
my golf swing I was playing golf swing
so that was a little bit annoying but
hey that's what these rounds are for
still hit some good shots I chipped and
putted it very very well I like where
things are headed I just need to spend
some more time really honing in these
these little tweaks with have my clubs
exiting the ball more specifically when
it comes to my rhythm and my focus
because out on the golf course you just
need to focus on the target and just
just let it go and swing and good rhythm
but I was getting a little too congested
in my head when it came to the thoughts
and I was thinking about the swing so
that kind of was a bummer reason why I
made 4 bogeys out there but hey happens
to the best of us I got a lot of
practice to do between now and leaving
for Jamaica next Wednesday so give this
video a thumbs up subscribe if you
haven't and I'll see you guys in the
next episode
