A Coffee Cup That Hides a Puzzle

It's been a while since I posted something here on my main channel. I decided to take a small break and just rethink what I'm doing here. And I think I came up with the perfect concept. Just hear me out. I'll keep filming puzzle videos and you keep watching them from start to the very end. Very important, don't forget to hit the like button. I think this will work much better than what we had in the last couple of years. And the second part I created two new channels. One dedicated for the calendar puzzle where I post daily calendar puzzle videos. And the second one just for shorts videos. So here on my main channel I will be mostly posting longer videos where I attempt to solve puzzles. I have a huge backlog of unsolved puzzles. By huge I mean ginormous. And I'll start today with the coffee cup puzzle that was designed by Jeroen Kerkruid from the Netherlands. I hope I didn't butcher your name. The goal of the puzzle is to open the coffee cup. This puzzle looks like a normal cup for coffee when you get it to go. There is also such option as putting your name on the cup which will make it a little bit more personal. This is absolutely awesome puzzle, not exceptionally hard to solve. I will show you solution in a minute. As I mentioned there are two versions with the black lid and with the marble lid. I prefer the marble lid since it looks more natural. And as I mentioned you can add your name to the puzzle or any other information. Just a nice personal touch. So the puzzle looks very simple. There is a cup, there is a lid. The lid is moving here. You can rotate it. But lid has two parts. There is a top part that you can rotate and there is a bottom part that you can rotate as well. The bottom part is glued. You won't be able to remove it unless you break this inner ring. But usually breaking a puzzle is against the rules, so we don't want to do that. To open the lid you have to move this part. As you can see you can rotate it only left and right. Since there are two metal balls here and here and there is a cutout right here where you have to move the balls to open the lid. Sounds easy when you know what to do, but when you grab a coffee cup with a lid and you have no idea what is happening inside, it will be not that easy to guess, since almost nothing is moving inside. You shake it, you can hear just a little bit of rumbling, but nothing really special. So what we do here, we move the lid all the way, actually all the way to the right, then flip the cup and rotate the lid to the left until you hear the ball drop. And now you have to rotate the lid all the way to the right and you will hear the ball drop again. Now move it all the way to the left, flip the puzzle and rotate the lid to the right until you hear another ball drop. Like that. And now move it all the way to the right. The ball goes to the cutout here and now you can remove the lid. And here you can see how the puzzle works. When you start solving, there are two metal balls here and here and there is a tiny cutout here in the lid. When the lid is locked, you can't move it due to the balls. So we have to remove the first ball, this one, and drop it here and then this one. If you start with this ball, you won't be able to move through this ball, since it doesn't allow you to move the ball over it. So you start with this one, drop it here, then this one, you drop it there and the puzzle is solved. To lock it back, just do all the steps in the reverse direction and the puzzle will be solved. So it's a great coffee cup puzzle that looks like a real coffee cup, but please don't pour any hot water or coffee or tea inside, since it will break the puzzle. There is no liquid allowed inside, it's just made for you to enjoy the puzzle, not the coffee. That was the solution of the coffee cup puzzle.
