As the East Coast digs out from a massive snowstorm, a potential nor'easter could bring more snow to parts of the Philadelphia region this weekend.
A "bomb cyclone," or a rapidly intensifying storm, is forming off the Carolinas Friday night into Saturday.
"This is going to be a monster storm. It is going to rapidly intensify as we get this fresh injection of arctic air that comes in here Thursday, Friday, and that helps develop the storm with upper-level energy," said Meteorologist Adam Joseph.

We are holding steady in the 20s during the day.
Yeah, heading down as we head overnight.
Meteorologist Adam Joseph in the Weather Center with those
frigid details as we look ahead to the weekend as well.
Yeah, think about it. 41 is the normal high.
Nice. You know how nice 41 would feel right now?
Yeah. Oh, but you know what?
I'm sorry. It's not me offing. Anytime soon,
not even in the next seven days. Sky Six Live Temple University.
We have this band of high clouds that has pushed through here
after the morning sunshine, but they will be departing
and they already are in the Western suburbs.
And the next big thing is the latest details on the upcoming
weekend threat with that nor'easter.
So let's dive right into this here.
This is going to be a monster storm.
It is going to rapidly intensify as we get this fresh injection
of Arctic air that comes in here Thursday,
Friday, and that helps develop the storm with upper-level energy.
So there is going to be snow in North Carolina,
South Carolina, parts of Virginia,
but as we watch the progression of the storm
and we continue to look at the model consensus here
and all the ensemble members, that's just dozens
and dozens of models. The takeaway over the last 24 hours
is the average distance of the storm from our coastline
is around 270 miles to the south and east.
So as that storm rapidly deepens here,
it is going to be a big windmaker
and as of now brushes our coastline and not a major hit.
So what we know breaking it down at this point,
the coastline will see 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts
no matter the track. There's a full moon on Sunday.
So the tides are astronomically higher than average.
So tidal flooding is a great concern.
The unknown at this point is how close the actual center
of the storm goes to determine snowfall.
So the very early call here of probability
of seeing three or more inches of snow,
Philadelphia is about a 20% chance of three inches,
40% as you get towards Millville and Dover
and 60% right along the coastline.
The coast is what we're watching at this point
for some accumulation. 21 degrees in the city
right now of Philadelphia. West wind at 10 miles an hour
feels like 10. There's the high clouds moving to the south
and east. It's clearing now in the Lehigh Valley
back into the far western suburbs.
We drop back into the single digits for most tonight,
brutally frigid with wind chills going below zero late
tonight and tomorrow's wind chills. One below in the city
at 8 a.m. 8 at 2 p.m.
And hey, the warmest it feels 4 to 5, 6 o'clock,
10 degrees. The exclusive AccuWeather 7 day forecast,
23 tomorrow despite full sun. Coldest in our 7 day
stretch Friday, 19 degrees. Clouds thicken Saturday,
22. Gusty winds Sunday. Watching that snow possibility,
especially farther south and east away from the heart
of the Delaware Valley. And finally back to freezing Monday
and just above freezing Tuesday, Wednesday with some melting,
but still 7 degrees below average. And guys,
I just did Adam's thoughts on a keyboard on my social pages
about the storm. Do you want to have a good read?
Okay, go and check them all. I just read it.
It was very insightful and informative
and we're going to get a lot more of that.
Yeah, thanks Adam.
