the defendant and the victim. The 18 year old suspect lived in Lynn but officials believe
that he went to Danvers and killed 68 year old Janet Swallow. Then police say that they found
him back in Lynn walking down a street with a bloody knife. Essex County District Attorney Paul
Tucker addressed the media last night. He says that police were called about a man with a knife
on Standish Street in Lynn Thursday afternoon. They got there and found him with the knife in
his hand and it had a reddish brown stain on it consistent with blood. He was taken to the
hospital because of his erratic behavior but police soon learned information pointing them
to a house in Danvers. When they searched the Amherst Street house they found Swallow dead.
There was a search warrant that was conducted at the defendant's home in Lynn. Evidence was
recovered there. Information was gathered and technology available to investigators
led Danvers PD to the area and then to be able to identify the home on Amherst.
The Danvers Police Chief says that the Swallow family are longtime
Danvers residents. Anthony DiMaio, he is being held at the Danvers Police Station.
